A frustrated groan left Hyemin's lips. 

She sighed for the nth time today and sat down. She's been trying to fix her treehouse for 2 hours now but it seemed like there was no progress.

She allowed her little cousins to play in here not knowing that it was a terribly bad idea. She wanted to come here to have some alone time so you can imagine the shock on her face when she saw her treehouse looking like a tornado had just hit it. 

She couldn't go up to check the damages because some parts of the ladder broke too. Once she managed to fix that, she climbed up the treehouse. 

The walls of her beloved treehouse were broken. Literally broken. Some pieces of the wall fell to the grass below while some stayed but it looked like they were going to fall. 

The roof had a huge hole in it and it looked like it was going to collapse any minute. She was just grateful that nothing happened to the floor because if it did, then that would be the biggest problem for her. 

She just wondered how in the world two kids below 7 could cause this mess. 

Hyemin was cut off from her thoughts when a voice from below called out. 

"There you are, I was looking all over for you." said Sunghoon, with his hands in his pocket.

"And why is that?" She looked below, careful not to get too close to the edge.

"For the physics homework, babe."

Sunghoon's lips curled into a smirk when he saw her cringing at the pet name. 

Hyemin groaned in frustration when she remembered they had physics homework, and a lot of it may I add. "Oh yeah, I forgot."

She mentally agreed with herself to do it later at the I-LAND cafe since she was craving for their mint choco coffee there. 

"As expected." He simply stated, picking up the pieces of wood from the grass and examining them. "What're you doing anyway?"

"Trying to fix―" She couldn't even finish her sentence because she accidentally kicked one piece of wood causing it to fly out. 

"Ouch!" A yell from below. 

She peeked her head out, "Sorry about that!"

Sunghoon rubbed the aching area that was starting to form a bump. "And to think I was actually gonna help you." 

She widened her eyes and hurriedly climbed down the treehouse. She really did not know what she was doing so she figured Sunghoon's help would be greatly appreciated. She stood in front of him, a sheepish smile across her face. 

"What is it?" 

"Can you maybe uhhh help me with," She looked back at the broken down treehouse, "That..."

Sunghoon eyed her, "What's in it for me?" 

Hyemin rolled her eyes at his words. He just had to have something for himself after right? But nevertheless, she gave in. 

"I'll treat you at the I-LAND cafe tonight." She muttered, earning a smile of satisfaction from the boy in front of her. 

"Sure." He grinned, his pearly fangs showing. "Lead the way, darling."

Hyemin's eyebrows furrowed at this particular question. She'd been trying to figure out what the question alone meant for 15 minutes now but to no avail. 

Physics can go suck a toe.

She felt a cold wind brush over her and shivered. It was raining cats and dogs outside and it looked like it will be for a while.

She didn't mind though since it was rather relaxing, the loud patters of the rain hitting the roof and the warm coffee she took a sip of. 

Her peace and ambiance wouldn't last long though because ever so often, Sunghoon would laugh at a funny TikTok he'd seen on his phone. 

She didn't even know why he didn't leave yet because he clearly got his coffee and donut so technically she didn't owe him anything anymore. 

Except well the homework. Yeah. She regretted asking for his help but she was happy that her pesky ex stopped interacting with her. 

His annoying laugh resonated throughout the cafe, earning a few looks from others but he paid no attention whatsoever. 

"Are you done?" He asked for the nth time. 

Hyemin sighed, "No, I'm not. And can you please stop bothering me because I can't focus―" 

Her words came in one ear and out in the other when he put his phone down and took a closer look at the question, getting all up in her personal bubble. 

He was so close to her that she could see his long black lashes. The minty scent of his shampoo lingered around her and if she turned her head slightly, she could even see the birthmark on his nose. 

He looked peaceful, delicate, angelic even. That was until he opened his mouth. 

"This is so easy." He flaunted, a chuckle leaving his lips as he ran his fingers through his hair. 

She scoffed, "If it's so easy then why don't you do it." 

An amusing smirk on his lips. "Nope. I'd like to see you suffer, darling." 

Hyemin took a deep breath and clenched her fist. She wasn't gonna get mad or argue back because that was obviously what he wanted. 

Amusement pooled his eyes as he saw her roll hers. Truth be told, Sunghoon loved pissing Hyemin off, mainly because he found it quite entertaining. 

With a frown on her face, she took her things and treaded to a table all the way at the back, far away from chaos himself. 

Hyemin set her things down and quickly diverted her attention back to the homework that had been bothering her. 

However, not even a few minutes in, she felt her eyelids getting heavier by the second. Before she knew it, she was off to a deep slumber, the homework long forgotten by now. 

Time seemed to pass by and Sunghoon realized that when the owner of the cafe came up to him, telling him that it was gonna close in a few minutes. 

Nodding at his words, he looked around and realized he was the only one here. Well, him and Hyemin. 

A small groan left his lips when he stood up, lightly stretching his legs then making way to the table where Hyemin sat. 

"Hey, the cafe's―" He stopped in his tracks when he saw her asleep. 

Sunghoon slowly trod towards the sleeping girl and sat down beside her. A small laugh left his lips when he realized she hadn't got any question done. 

Looking at the time, he grabbed a pen and got to work with the remaining time he had left. He didn't want to brag but he was quite good in Physics, not better than his best friend Jake though. 

'Perks of having a smart best friend.' he wondered. 

After he was done, he turned to the girl beside him. He brought up his hands to brush away the hairs covering her face. 

He could hear the little puffs of her breathing and the way her eyebrows were furrowed. He also didn't miss the way her lips slightly pouted as he continued staring at her.

Sunghoon cleared his throat and poked her cheek in an attempt to wake her up. "Yah, wake up idiot. The cafe's closing." 

She groggily nodded and packed her things, despite being half asleep and clueless about what she was doing or what was going on. But all she knew was that a wave of fatigue hit her. 

Sunghoon held her arm and signaled her to stand up. And while she was regaining consciousness, he packed her belongings back in her bag before giving them to her. 

"You were drooling so much." He spoke up, trying to ease the silence. 

"No, I wasn't." She muttered, rubbing her eyes. Had Sunghoon not been looking in front of her, she would've bumped into the pole. 

"Yeah, you were." He teased. 

Hyemin was beyond tired. From going to school then working hard to fix her treehouse which was halfway finished (thanks to the help of a particular narcissistic idiot) to the rigorous physics homework.

Sunghoon took her silence as a signal that she was probably tired, so he resisted saying anything else as they walked all the way home. 

She muttered a small 'bye' and entered her home. Once she reached her room, she plopped on her bed with a sigh. 

Hyemin remembered that she hadn't completed her homework yet but instantly gave up to do it anyway. She got up to pack her bag for tomorrow then wanted to take a warm shower before going back to sleep-land.

However, something caught her attention when she wanted to put her homework in her bag. She found that it was already completed.

She looked at the paper with confusion written all over her face. She definitely remembered not doing this part. 

There was only one other person who could've done it since he was practically there with her. A small smile made its way to her lips as she nodded.

He actually did something nice for once huh?
