Hyemin woke up earlier than usual today since she and Jiwon planned to eat breakfast at this new cafe that recently just opened up. 

She had been dreading this day all night. She could only imagine how many questions her classmates would ask about her and Sunghoon and mentally cringed. 

She was definitely not looking forward to this day.

Grabbing her bag, she exited the house and headed to the cafe where she and Jiwon promised to meet up. She heard a lot of good reviews of the new cafe so she definitely had quite high expectations for it. 

The sky was still dark signaling that it was still very early. She could hear the crickets and inhaled when she felt a soft breeze hit her. 

Usually, on a nice morning like this, she would be down to listen to some good music but she decided to give her ears a break this once. Plus she'd left her earphones at home anyway.

Ever since Hyemin left her house, she had this feeling that she was forgetting something. She couldn't pinpoint what it was but she knew she was forgetting something. She shrugged the feeling off when she spotted the cafe and scurried towards it. 

I'm sure I'll remember it sooner or later.

"So is it true that you and Sunghoon are dating?" One of her classmate, Ryujin, asked her. 

"Uh yeah it is true." said Hyemin earning some gasps.

"Damn, I thought you guys hated each other," said Karina and a few other people nodded. "Speaking of Sunghoon, where is he anyway?"

As soon as Karina said that, Hyemin's eyes scanned through the field, looking for the dark-haired boy. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion when she realized he wasn't here yet. 

Weird. He's always early. 

"I don't know." She muttered. If she had her phone right now, she'd send him a text but she left it back in class. 

The P.E teacher was already starting to call their attendance so this was very odd. Just then, a familiar figure was walking― no running towards them. 

She squinted her eyes and noticed that it was Sunghoon. He looked like he ran a whole marathon. He still had his backpack meaning he probably ran straight here after entering the school. 

"Sorry for coming late miss." He said in between breaths. 

"I'll let it slide since it's your first time." said the teacher and he nodded. 

That's when it hit her. The flashback of her and Sunghoon agreeing yesterday to come to school together to make it seem authentic. 

She obviously didn't miss the glare that was sent her way from Sunghoon himself. She'd mess up. Real bad. And it was only the first day!

Fuck.

Hyemin mentally cussed herself at her stupidity. She knew she was forgetting something when she left home this morning. She bit her lip and sighed frustratedly. 

And it didn't help that it had rained this morning right after she reached school either. She realized his hair was slightly wet too, meaning he probably ran under the rain.

Way to go, Hyemin!

How could she mess up something as simple as meeting up? The world truly, completely absolutely loathed her. Was it because of the one time she laughed at that video of old people falling over?

She knew she shouldn't have laughed at that.

Even though Sunghoon wasn't looking at her, she knew he was pissed. And she wasn't wrong either. 

She could feel his anger aura from where she was standing. She noticed how quiet he was since he'd usually chat with Jake or Taehyun but no, not this time. 

Hyemin took a glance at the boy and noticed he was ignoring the chatter that was going around his friends. 

Jake asked her why he was acting weird but she pretended to not know either. 

Hyemin made a mental note to avoid Sunghoon for the whole day till he cooled down or something. She tried approaching him but as soon as he saw her coming towards him, he would turn the other way and go. 

"Shouldn't you apologize though?" Jiwon asked. 

"Yeah, I will when he stops looking at me like he's gonna murder me." She glanced at the table where Sunghoon was sitting at. "Plus he's the one avoiding me so I can't do anything about it."

Jiwon mentally sighed at her best friend's stupidity. She knew she couldn't do anything about it right now. 

"I heard he got detention for coming late too." Jiwon added, taking a bite of her sandwich. 

"Sucks to be him."

"So tell me about your crush." Hyemin quirked, raising her eyebrows at her best friend. "I still haven't forgotten about it." 

They were currently sitting in front Hyemin's yard, just talking with each other while trying to skate on the road. They also planned to go for ice cream in a few minutes.

"There's nothing much to it I guess." Jiwon shrugged. She stood on the skateboard but fell down not a second later with a 'yelp'. 

"Come on, there's gotta be something!" 

However, Jiwon paid no attention to her words since something― no, someone else caught her attention. She saw him sigh and without thinking twice, she grabbed Hyemin's wrist and walked in his direction.

She knew how stubborn Hyemin is especially when it comes to apologizing so she concluded that she'd make her apologize. 

"Hey, Jiwon what―"

Hyemin widened her eyes when Jiwon made an abrupt stop. Hyemin looked up and was met with Sunghoon. She looked back at Jiwon who was signaling her to apologize.

"Uh I'm sorry...?" She said but it sounded more like a question instead. Jiwon face-palmed herself and Sunghoon scoffed, walking away.

"She really can't even do one thing right." He muttered under his breath. 

Hyemin shrugged and turned to walk away too but Jiwon gave her a look and she sighed. 

"Wait Sunghoon, I'm sorry." She said, making Sunghoon stop in his tracks.

He turned around, "Do you even know what you're sorry for?"

"Well, yea―"

"Because of you, I had to wait 40 minutes, and then I had to walk to school since I told my Dad I didn't need a ride to school because we both agreed to walk together. As if that wasn't bad enough it started raining heavily and I got detention." He ranted. 

"It's not like I told you to tell your dad you didn't need a ride to school right." Hyemin blurted.

He sighed harshly and clutched his fists tightly. That was it. He could not do this anymore. Nope. Just when he thought they were getting along well together. He even agreed to do this stupid fake dating thing with her. More like it was his fault but never mind that.

"You're making it worse dumb ass." Jiwon whispered and nudged her. She was so tired of her best friend's stupidity. This would've all been over long ago if she'd just put her pride down and apologized.

"I already said sorr―"

"As if a small sorry can disregard the fact that I got detention. My mom's going to kill me and it's going to be in my school record forever!" He yelled. 

"Since when did you care about that." 

"Since―"

"Enough!" 

They both turned their gazes to Jiwon. They were so into the argument that they forgot she was even there. Jiwon facepalmed at their actions towards each other. She really felt like she was babysitting 2 annoying kids. 

"Arguing won't do you guys any good." She calmly said. 

"It's her fault―"

"He's the one who―"

"Hyemin please be the bigger person and apologize. Sincerely." Jiwon looked at her, glaring at the last part. 

Jiwon turned her gaze to the tall male, "And Sunghoon please be the even bigger person and forgive her." 

"I doubt any part of him is big."

"You!―"

"Hyemin." Jiwon said with a threatening tone. 

"I am very sorry." said Hyemin, trying her best to hide in her laughter. 

Jiwon looked at Sunghoon and he sighed, giving in. "I forgive you." 

"Yay. Now shake hands and hug it out." She smiled. 

Hyemin knew where she was getting this from. Jiwon babysat kids in her free time and whenever they got into a fight, she'd make them apologize, shake hands and hug it out. And it always worked like a charm. 

"Yeah, we're only shaking hands." said Sunghoon and Hyemin agreed. Once they had shaken hands, Jiwon clapped her hands. 

"Now let's go for ice cream," said Jiwon. She turned to Sunghoon, "Wanna join us?"

He wanted to go, he really did. But if Hyemin was going to be there then he definitely wasn't going. Though the sound of ice cream tempted Sunghoon very much. 

After a few seconds of pondering, he nodded. 

Who could resist ice cream am I right?
