"What?! So, he just kissed you and told you to forget about it?!"

"Yeah..." I nodded.

"Of course, he would do that. He's a coward, right? He's gonna run away again," Gray scoffed bitterly.

"Gray, why do you always think so low about him? He might have said that for some reason and besides, it's not like I can forget such a romantic scene so easily," I once again blushed until I could feel the warmness spreading on my cheeks. The picture is as clear as ever and the feeling still alive and beating.

"Sure, he tells you to forget, you forget. That's how it's gonna work until the end, am I correct?"

"You're just jealous, aren't you?" I pouted.

"Of course, I am!"

"On another note," I changed the topic and looked to my side, "What are you doing here?" I asked Zeref who was twirling in my chair while reading a Manga.

He stopped at once and averted his eyes from the book, "It's because you're love life is so interesting and your room is cozy and Mrs. Scarlet told me I could stay if I want, so there's no reason for you to get annoyed," He smirked and got back to twirling and reading.

Seriously...he isn't even paying heed to the topic that's going on now.

When just then there was a knock on the door. It was mom, she entered hastily and marched towards me while busily scrolling through her phone, "Erza, why aren't you ready yet?" She looked up for a second, frowning at me and then went back to texting someone.

"Uh...ready for what?" I asked and glanced at Gray. Though, he was too occupied on arguing with Zeref that Kaneki's life story is the most depressing story he has ever read.

"Honey, how can you forget such an important day? We need to get you to the tailor to get the measurements for your wedding dress, remember?"

What? Tailor? Measurements? Wedding dress?

I thought I would never hear those words again...I have been so wrapped up in fantasizing my life with Jellal that I forgot that me and Gray have yet to debate about this unwilling proposal.

What do I do now, though...I can't just say, 'No, mom, I don't want to go to the tailor with you because I'm not marrying Gray!'

Gosh, I wish I could just say that to her...why is it so hard for me?

"Come on, don't stare at me blankly, Sweetie. I'm waiting for you downstairs. Be there in two," She turned around and hurriedly left the room, closing the door behind her in a rush.

I walked over to Gray, grabbed his wrist and forcefully turned him around, "What are we going to do now?"

--

"What? Run away? To where?!" I let out a yell but Gray quickly shushed me, so did Zeref.

"Don't shout, you don't want Mrs. Scarlet to listen to our plan, do you?" He whispered and gradually pulled back his hand, so did Zeref.

I glared at the both but kept quiet for Gray to drop his best ideas and plans.

"Okay, so the plan here is, you run away from home until the day of the wedding. No you, means no wedding, and no wedding means it's off for good."

"So now I'm the bad guy here? What about my family's pride? What will others think of me?" I whined, "I can't do that..."

"Erza," Gray placed a hand on my shoulder, so did Zeref, "You must sacrifice something or the other...Sacrifice your love for your and your family's pride or sacrifice your pride for your love."

I suddenly went deep into my thoughts. It was Dark. Literally. Nothing for me to grab on or walk on. I was just hovering in the midst like a string.

Sacrifice, huh? I didn't think a time like this would come where I would have to sacrifice something or someone.

Run away from home? Is that an option or a choice?

"Erza, you don't have all the time in the world...the clocks ticking," Zeref whispered in my ears.

"For the first time...I agree with him," Gray whispered back and they both silently slapped each other's hands.

Hm...Someone help me out here. What do I do...? Isn't there some kind of a fortune cookie or a fortune teller who can decide the correct path for me? I mean, sure, I am nineteen, I can make my life choices but—

"ERZA! HONEY! WHERE ARE YOU? WE ARE GETTING LATE HERE!"

I sprinted back to my senses and jumped up from the edge of my seat. For some damn reason, my heart and mind chose the one damn thing that was damn NOT right.

"Gray, help me pack my bag."

--

"Okay, me and Zeref will distract Mrs. Scarlet and in that few seconds you need to get the hell out of this house and wait for the both of us near the bus stop," Gray slipped on a beanie over my head and patted it cutely.

"But how are you going to distract mom?" I asked. Zeref helped me wear my backpack and cracked a helpful smile.

"Leave that to us," Gray sighed.

"Are you sure I should do this...?" I hesitantly asked.

"Uh, weren't you the one to say, 'Gray, help me pack my bag'," Zeref imitated me.

I rolled my eyes at him and took a deep long breath, "Okay...I will do this. I can do this..."

"Yes, you can," Gray gave a quick bump to my forehead and opened the door, signaling Zeref to follow him quickly. Zeref, however, turned me around, bumped his forehead to mine as well and told me, "Remember, if that Jellal guy ever dumps you, I'm here," And he cracked his commendable smirk before following the annoyed Gray.

I stood near the door, patiently waiting for a signal or some sort. I could hear noises; they were talking, not that I could hear what they were talking but right then, I saw Zeref hastily gesturing me to make my move.

With one long breath, I braced on my backpack and dashed down the stairs as speedily and soundlessly as I could. Nodding once at Zeref who was blocking the living room view, I headed out of the house.
