chapter 6
07:13, 23 May 2016"Meet Kazekage-sama at noon on the second floor of the library," a messenger had said, disappearing without even glancing at the others."W-why was that directed at me??" Hinata blushed and fumbled with her fingers.Naruto burst with fits of laughter, Killua eyed him oddly."Because Messengers like him don't have time to even tell the message twice," Sakura explained."Che," Killua rolled his blue eyes, clearly unimpressed, "Let's just get those damn scrolls now, I don't wanna be stuck in these lands forever." I have more important things to do."Persistent much," Tenten crossed her fair arms, and she tapped her foot, not caring if she sounded rude. The Leaf Ninja ran to the set meeting place, meanwhile, the Kazekage was holding a long distance call with the 3rd Hokage. Gaara sat tightly in his office chair, back straight, hands neatly folded on his desk as he spoke into the phone, "I see, so little evidence has been found," His eyes narrowed, if even possible,"I, too, agree... Something's quite off with Killua-san's timing."The sun's rays began stretching over the Kazekage's desk."....He is skilled with masking," pause, "He must know more," Gaara listens, "Matches Shikamaru-san's intelligence...? I suppose.. I can keep a strict eye on him then." He hangs up, placing two fingers over one of his own eyes, he creates a sand double, and quirks a smirk.****Killua's pace falters, what's that presence? He checks without moving very much, letting his Nen feel the surrounding area.He continues to run, only slowing down his pace just enough to be at the back."Killua-kun?" Hinata's eyes have turned completely white, with veins popping from her temples, "Are you looking something?"He took a breath, "No, nothing."What can her eyes do again? It'd be convenient to have them.... Maybe I can rip her throat out before--"Stop that," Killua muttered, grabbing the place where his aniki's needle had once been inserted. This time, Kakashi-sensei came beside him, narrowing his gaze to Killua's angered expression, "Stop what exactly? You don't seem able to control your thoughts very well, do you?" Killua full on glared at the taller man, he's had years to control his thoughts, "Lingering affects, my mind isn't the problem."Within minutes, they reached the library, guards filled the hallways, the doors, and any other possible entries.Killua kept count, 40? Not too bad."Why're there only forty guards?" The ex-assassin flicked his eyes towards the yellow haired boy.Naruto invaded his sensei's personal space, when Kakashi had to explain that Gaara is a really strong ninja so he doesn't need that many.Killua noticed that the ninja guards grew stiff as he passed, of course, these people don't know how to completely erase their presences. He frowned knowing that they could be a burden. We just have to get these scrolls back to the Hokage and then I'm free to leave.Killua's eyes shifted to the massive wooden doors up ahead, he slowed down, only to not bump into a ninja.Illumi should be far away by now, knowing him. Imagine him staying? Ha. That would only spell for both of our deaths. He felt himself smirk, not knowing that Naruto had barged into his personal space. The white haired boy jumped back within a split second, thus catching everyone else off guard."Eto.." Sakura started, "Kazekage told Naruto... Just now that, you're only wanted to get the scroll," she pointed a thumb to the doors."What was the point of having these guys here then?" Killua barely moved a muscle, but he was in fact looking to the guards, "And these extra runts." He indicated to the other ninja, not receiving a welcoming atmosphere among them."Baka," Naruto flat-panned, "Just go already," giving the slightly taller boy a shove.Glaring, the ex-assassin went, hovering a bit before he actually entered the library. When the door shut, Gaara's voice was heard, "Good that you're here," he nodded his head courtly."Nee," Killua jutted his head to the locked portion of the library, "Is the scroll coming from there?" He eyed the Kazekage, "No, you have it on you."Gaara barely lifted an eyebrow, "Yes, I didn't trust the meagre locks in this place.""Good choice, they're old as hell.""Anyways," Gaara shifted, reaching inside one of his pockets, retrieving the oh so important scroll, "I leave it in your hands, as the Third has requested."Killua nodded prudently, trying to not grab it right out of this ninja's hands, Can't you have someone else take it? Che.It was then that Killua felt the strong presences making their way to the Sand village, Gaara felt it too, because shortly after, an alarm sounded throughout the Sands.****Dun dundunnnnnn aha.. I'm trying to portray more characters.... not working out as planned, but... have you seen the Naruto musical? It's interesting.... xD
