the more weeks that passed, the more dates you and kento went to.

you had grown more comfortable with each other; linking your arms together when walking, him kissing your knuckles and you kissing his cheek goodnight.

yuji was always asking you if you were together yet, but you always shook your head no, disappointing the poor boy.

even if you were scared, you were ready to take that next step with kento. yet, you didn't know if he was prepared for it.

you were walking around the park after another successful date with him, fingers brushing against each other's.

you sat on a bench, waiting for him to do the same, but he just stood in front of you.

"what's wrong?"

"it's nothing"

"do you mind if i just go and buy something?" he added, focusing on you.

"not at all!" you smiled.

"i'll be quick"

he placed a kiss on your knuckles, making your cheeks burn. he walked away, but you didn't turn to check where he went.

you patiently waited for him to return, as you looked at the starry sky. a shooting star fell, but it was so quick you didn't even have the chance to wish upon it.

the moment you heard familiar footsteps approaching, you got up from the bench and turned around, meeting the man you would've involved in your wish· a bouquet of purple bellflowers in his hands.

"you remembered i like bellflowers..."

"there's not a single thing about you that i can forget"

you looked up at him, accepting the flowers he was giving you. your heart felt like it could jump out of your chest at any given minute.

he reached out, holding your free hand against his chest. you could feel his fast heartbeat against your fingertips, making you move a little closer to him— in hopes you'd be able to hear it, too.

"y/n..."

you immediately met his eyes, getting lost in the galaxy displayed in them.

"i'm ready for taking this next step with you"

a smile adorned your features, making you look even more angelic in his eyes.

"i am too"

"then... will you accept me as your boyfriend and let me in your heart?" he softly said, as he moved closer to you.

"i will" you whispered.

"and you? will you accept me as your girlfriend and let me in your heart?"

"my heart has been in your hands for a long time, now"

he placed his hand on your cheek, softly caressing your skin. you lowered the bouquet of flowers as he leaned closer, preparing yourself for his kiss.

but it never came.

kento had stopped mere centimeters away from you, making you think he didn't want the same you did.

"i'm sorry, i'm rushing you..."

without saying a word, you softly placed your lips on his. he closed his eyes as he snaked one arm around your waist, bringing you closer.

he lowered his head, so you wouldn't have to tiptoe to reach him.

one hand was resting on your cheek and the other on your waist, as his lips connected with yours.

he could taste the blueberry tart you shared on your lips, along with the sweetness of the white wine.

his half-lidded eyes locked on yours when you pulled away, and you could see the smallest twinkle in them.

you smiled softly, before capturing his lips in another sweet kiss.

you knew that the taste of his lips was your idea of luxury.
