the flowers he gave you had a small note attached to them; his phone number and his next day off written on it.

and so, you closed your shop earlier on his day off to be able to go on a second date with him.

you had also baked him some chocolate cookies and strawberry muffins— since he wasn't able to visit your bakery lately.

you saw him standing outside, so you quickly made your way to him· the soft smile on your face matching his.

"hi!"

"hello"

you gave him the bag in your hands, making him raise an eyebrow.

"what is this?"

"just some baked stuff! i haven't seen you in a while"

"oh, i'm sorry... work has been keeping me busy"

you frowned slightly. you hated how he overworked himself for a job that he wasn't even finding fun.

"but... thank you for these" he added, looking at the bag you've given him.

"no need! i just wanted to make you feel better..."

oh, how kento adored you.

he watched you as you walked ahead, gesturing for him to follow you.

like he was under some spell, he followed you like a lost puppy— not even knowing where you were taking him.

"i heard a new restaurant opened some blocks away! wanna try it?"

"sure"

neither of you were left disappointed from it. it had dishes from different cuisines, and the atmosphere was light and cozy.

you sat across from each other, sipping some red wine, as you got to know each other on a more personal level.

on your first date, you were talking about your interests and your careers.

yet on your second date, a conversation about love and relationships started out of nowhere.

"it may sound silly, but... i've never done this before" you said, playing with the ends of your skirt.

"a relationship?"

"not only that... this is the second date i've had in my life..." you admitted, avoiding his gaze.

he brought a hand to your chin, tilting your head so you could look at him;

"then, we're on the same page"

"really? all this is new to you, too?"

he nodded, and it was his turn to look away from embarrassment. you exhaled a breath you didn't know you were holding, relaxing against your seat;

"that's a relief...!" you sighed.

"it is, indeed"

his hand came to rest on top of yours, his thumb drawing circles on your skin.

"y/n, i... is it okay that i don't want to rush into things?"

"it's completely okay! i think it's better if we take our time with it, before taking a possible next step!"

"if you ever change your mind, i want you to be honest with me, okay?"

"the same goes to you!"

he laughed softly, making your heart skip some beats.

"i promise i won't ever leave you in the dark"
