Colourful Bangles

He and Tapesh came back from Jaisalmer solving a new, significant case, the one of The Golden Fortress.
They reached home from the station at 10 in the night. Sindhuja opened the door for them and helped take in their bags. The two drank water and settled in their bedroom, while she frowned at the fact that they already had dinner.
Tapesh chimed in after some time, "Boudi! You should have come with us, it was so beautiful... And do you know, the train-"
"Topshe! It's really late right now, don't get started with the whole story."
"But Feluda-"
"Tell her everything tomorrow!.. Right now go to your room and sleep."
"I'll just tell the-"
"Topshe!..." He said in a final commanding voice. "Tomorrow."
Tapesh left the room reluctantly as he went to close the door behind. He shut the door and returned to face Sindhuja.
She asked, "Why did you make him go? He was just talking..."
He walked to her and wrapped his arms around her. "Because I wanted to meet my dear wife whom I missed very much... "
She tried backing away to finally find herself stuck between the cupboard behind, and him coming closer in front.
"Mitter Babu!..."
He locked eyes with her and smiled, "Oh, how I missed being called this from you, Sindhu!..."
Cupping her face in his palm, he leaned in on her, and she closed her eyes knowing what would happen next.
Just then, someone knocked on the door. They stopped in their tracks. He rolled his eyes and went to the door muttering "This better be something important"; while she suppressed a giggle behind. He opened the door slightly to see Tapesh standing there.
"I forgot my bag with clothes here." He said and immediately marched into the room to fetch it.
After Tapesh left, He closed the door again and returned to where Sindhuja was still standing.
"So where were we?...Yes..."
She tried to slip away from the side but he put his arm there, blocking her from going anywhere.
"You aren't escaping anywhere, madame. I haven't had my Rosogolla for over a week."
And he leaned in again, this time successfully reaching her lips. She held on to his shoulders to remain steady as they fiercely reclaimed their love after remaining separated for several days.
They broke off gasping for breath, and then embraced.
While still in his arms, she said, "The way you didn't even ring a single time after reaching there, I thought you might've already met some fair-Rajasthani girl..."
He said with a serious voice, "I told you before going too; I wouldn't be able to keep any contact with you all after reaching the location, for everyone's and my safety. And I was there for work, not on a vacation to enjoy around... But yes, I did find a girl on the Jaisalmer station. Fair and beautiful."
She immediately looked up shooting daggers at him.
He left her and walked to his travel-bag. "Yeah. She also gave me something."
She did not like how this was going.
Meanwhile, he walked back to her with a small paper-package in hand. "Do you want to open and see what it is?"
"Me? No no, it is for you right, you can go ahead!..." She said folding her arms angrily.
"But she said it's not for me!" He protested while carefully opening it.
Inside were several bangles in all colours made of gleaming glass.
He held the bangles in front of her. "She sold me these and asked me to gift it to my woman."
She smiled brightly as he smirked. "I guessed they might be your size. Try them on."
She stopped a moment. "What do you mean 'try them on'? "
He looked at her questioningly.
She lifted her hands to him. "You're supposed to make me wear them on my hands! Ohh god, you don't know anything of romance, do you Mitter Babu?"
He smiled. "Alright, I'll remember for next time; my madame."
They sat on the bed where he pushed the bangles on to her hands. When he was done, she clinked them all together and shook her hands to see the colours shine.
"They're beautiful."
"That's why. I looked at those and they reminded me of you."
Her cheeks went red. "Thank you."
"Just 'thank you'?"
"What else then?"
"I need a return-gift..." He said while his hands undid her hair-bun.
She turned even more red. "Stop it! Aren't you tired from the travelling?"
"Never tired enough for you, darling..." He said smirking.
He removed the bangles from her hands again, and then turned off the lights. Getting on the bed, he unbuttoned his shirt and pulled the blanket on them.
