We Can Work It Out
22:46, 13 May 2020~ John's POV ~
The first day of school.
I hated school.
But it also gave me a rush of adrenaline .
"Ey John!" Someone yelled from behind me. I turned around to see one of my mates, Stu Stucliff.
"Ello Stu." I replied as began to walk to my locker.
"Do ye wanna hang out after school?" Stu questioned.
"Sure why not." I shrugged. I noticed a lad standing next to me with a blank expression.
"Do ye need someth'in?" I questioned harshly. The younger bloke rolled his eyes.
"Me lockers under yers." He said annoyed. I just nodded and closed me locker.
"I'm John by the way." I said extending my hand.
"Paul." He replied shaking my hand. "Well best be off. See ye later John."
We both walked to our different classes. I sat down at one of the desks and began doodle on a scrap of paper.
"John! Are you paying attention?!" The teacher yelled. I looked up from my paper and blinked a few times. "Not really, to be honest. Yer lesson has got me quite bored." I responded.
The classes began to laugh at my response. "Go to the office after the class ends." The teacher replied coldly.
~ After Class ~
I began to walk to office, but was stopped by Stu.
"Ey where are ye goin Lennon?" He questioned.
"Oh ye know, the usual. I have to go to the office."
"Already? It's only the first day of school ye know." He responded quite cockily. "Well I supose ye can't really hang out then. I'll just see ye tommorow?"
I just chuckled and nodded and began making my way to the office. I opened the door, but the principle wasn't there, but the lad from earlier was. He turned around and looked at me.
"Ey are you in trouble too Paulie?" I asked. He rolled his eyes at the nickname as I began to sit down next to him.
"No I'm just 'ere to get paperwork, since I just moved 'ere. Are you in trouble already?"
"Ye I am. Got told to come 'ere after runn'in my mouth to the teacher, ya know. " Paul didn't respond, but nodded.
"No offence or nothin', but ye seem like the type to get in trouble more often then not." He said.
"Yeah you could say that. Yer too much of a goodie goodie to get in trouble I'm guessin'?" I asked.
"I try not too. Me Da' doesn't really like it when I get into trouble, ya know?" I nodded.
The principle then walked in and looked at Paul. He seemed pleased, but then looked at me and sighed.
"Ah Paul. I'm guessing yer here for the paperwork?" The principle asked. Paul nodded and principle gave him his papers. Paul began leave.
"See ye around Paulie?" I asked. Paul gave a small smile.
"Sure. I'll see ye around Johnny." He responded. I sat there for another 30 minutes being lectured about runn'in my mouth, but I couldn't pay attention. I just kept thinking about the doe eyed boy. I smiled at the thought of hangin' out with the bloke.
I couldn't wait to talk to Paul again.
