Chapter 27
18:58, 1 October 2024A year had passed.
Percy couldn't believe it. It had been a year since he and Annabeth had made things official, a year since they had their first date.
And to celebrate? They were going on a date at the same park, in the same spot, with the same foods and drinks. Basically everything would be like it was a year ago, other than the fact that Percy and Annabeth were fifteen years old now, and that Percy wanted to do something a little cheesy at the end of their date. Also it was different due to the fact that Annabeth would be staying over the night at Percy's apartment after their date.
Percy was at the park, just setting the blanket out and setting out the snacks on top of the blanket. Annabeth said that she'd come on her own and meet Percy at the spot. Percy let out a sigh as he finished setting everything out and he stood by, resting his hands on his hips. "Oh, I came just in time!" Percy looked over and he smiled as he saw Annabeth making her way over with two bottles of blue lemonade in her hands.
"Ah, I nearly forgot about drinks!" Percy exclaimed. "Which is why I decided to go to the shops real quick before coming here, Seaweed Brain." Annabeth said, standing in front of Percy and smiling at him. Percy frowned. "I don't like that nickname you made for me, Wise Girl." Percy said, watching as Annabeth set down the glasses of blue lemonade on the blanket on the ground.
Percy couldn't recall how they created those nicknames for each other, but they were special nicknames. Something they didn't mind when the other called them that, if anyone else were to call Percy 'Seaweed Brain', he would get really irritated.
Annabeth rolled her eyes as she stood back up and cupped Percy's face. "Mmh? But you love me, so you'll live." Annabeth said, reaching up. Percy's hands rested on Annabeth's waist, smiling as he leaned in. "Mmh... yeah, I guess you make a good point there." Percy sighed softly. They both pressed their lips together, sharing a quick sweet kiss before pulling away.
"Alright, let's get this date started, mmh?" Annabeth smiled, patting Percy's cheeks. "Mmh, let us!" Percy exclaimed, taking his hands away from Annabeth's waist.
Annabeth went over and she sat down onto the blanket, surrounded by the food. Percy sat down next to her and they instantly began to open up the boxes of treats and began to nibble on them and to chat amongst themselves.
The whole date just consisted of the two of them chatting, cuddling, looking at the lake, Percy getting excited when he spotted some ducks and Annabeth adoring how Percy's eyes lit up at the sight of the birds.
It had reached the end after a few hours and they had packed away the food and drinks. Annabeth finished folding up the blanket and she set it on top of the picnic basket."Right, so, now we'll just head to your place and-" Annabeth began as she turned around to face Percy.
Music started playing from Percy's phone and Annabeth raised an eyebrow at her boyfriend."... What are you planning?""Oh, well, I was wondering if you'd like to dance with me!" Percy smiled as he placed his phone into his pocket, making sure the music was still loud enough for them to hear.Percy held his hand out and he looked at Annabeth, waiting for her to take his hand.
Annabeth's face turned completely red. "... You're insane." Annabeth stated, looking at her boyfriend. "For wanting to dance?" Percy raised an eyebrow. Annabeth stared at Percy and Percy didn't stop smiling at her. "C'mon Wise Girl, loosen up. You telling me you don't want to dance with me? Because if that's it, then.... I will accept this rejection but I will also be heartbroken. You don't want your boyfriend to be heartbroken, do you?"
"... Ah, yes, manipulation. I love it when my boyfriend does that." Annabeth rolled her eyes as she took Percy's hand. Percy frowned. "You're making it sound like I manipulate you often." "And you're basically admitting that you do manipulate me some times!" Annabeth smiled at Percy.
"... Why am I still with you?" "Because you love me dearly and because we're soulmates?" "Both very true!"
Annabeth rolled her eyes as she rested her free hand on Percy's shoulder while Percy rested his free hand on Annabeth's waist, holding her a little closer. The music played, loud enough for only the two of them to hear, and they slowly began to sway to the music. They both looked at each other, holding eye contact, both smiling like they were crazy in love.
"Are you sure I'm your first girlfriend ever? You're a natural at being so romantic~" Annabeth teased, tilting her head to the side slightly."Oh, I'm sure! I was just raised right and know how to treat a woman!" Percy grinned at Annabeth.Annabeth hummed, unable to stop smiling at Percy.
They continued to dance with the music, and when the song finally ended, Annabeth stepped closer to Percy and she reached up. Percy smiled as he leaned in and kept holding Annabeth by her waist.
"I love you, thank you for being a huge dork and making my life better, Seaweed Brain.""... I love you too, despite you calling me a huge dork, and... thank you for making my life better too, Wise Girl."
They both captured the other's lips for a kiss and they both melted into it. The kiss was sweet and gentle, full of love. They both pulled away after a few more moments.
"Alright, let's get going." Percy said, taking his hand away from Annabeth's waist but still holding her hand."Mmhm, so what is the plan for when we're at your place?" Annabeth asked as she and Percy went over to the picnic basket.Percy picked up the basket and the two of them began to walk off.
"Well, probably watching some movies, cuddling, my mom will definitely want to embarrass me by showing you baby pictures of me.""Awh, I can't wait for that!" "... Yeah, and I'm dreading it." "Oh, don't be like that."
