"Look at him, Lincoln." Sayah whispered as they watched Bellamy enter back into Arkadia that morning with the other 10 of Pike's annoying cult members. "That's not Bellamy."

Sayah watched as Octavia approached a dirty, slightly bloody Bellamy and asked if he was alright. He simply told her he was fine before brushing past her after she asked what had happened.

"Pike is going to start something he won't be able to finish. And now he's Chancellor. . ." Sayah clenched her jaw.

"He already has." Lincoln replied as Octavia made her way towards them.

Pike, after ordering guards to close the gate, stood high on some clutter and addressed the confused and curiosity crowd. "Everybody listen up." He began. "Twenty-four hours ago, you elected me your Chancellor. Every action I've taken since, and every action I will take, will be to achieve one sacred goal: The creation of a self-sustaining, prosperous and safe Arkadia."

Sayah scoffed. "Killing a peacekeeping army doesn't really help, now does it?" She muttered.

"This morning, on a muddy field, our people paid tribute to those who have been taken from us by sending a message to the Grounders: This land is ours now!" Cheers erupted from the crowd at his words. "Resist and you will be met by force. Fight, and you will be greeted by death."

"Today, is a new beginning." Pike continued. "Mark it down, remember it just like the Grounders will remember it!"

More cheers came from the crowd as Octavia glanced over to Lincoln and Sayah.

   Yeah, this was not good.

"Is it true you tried to leave camp to see Indra yesterday?" Kane questioned Octavia as they and Sayah moved down the halls.

"Look, don't you have more important things to worry about than who's sneaking out of camp?" Octavia asked him and Sayah snorted.

"As it turns out," Kane paused. "That's why you two are here."

Sayah furrowed her brows as Octavia glanced around, realising that Kane had brought them to an empty room. No one could hear them.

"Indra signalled. She wants to meet." Kane explained. "I'd go myself but Pike's watching everything I do now." He then unravelled some cloth and revealed two swords.

"Kane, you amaze me." Sayah grinned at the sight before meeting his eyes.

"You want us to go see Indra?" Octavia questioned as she and Sayah took their weapons.

"I need you guys to." Kane corrected.

"We're in." Sayah simply said, her grin still wide.

"Yeah, but how do we get out? The gate is armed with—" Octavia stopped talking as they watched Kane remove a panel in the wall, revealing a small passage way.

"Crawlspace door in twenty feet, drops you outside the camp wall. Get out there, you find out what the hell happened and you report back here. Can you two do that?" Kane questioned sternly.

"Hell yeah we can." Sayah smirked before crawling out first. Octavia followed after her just as quickly before turning back to Kane.

"I was born for this." Octavia simply told him before Kane was called out over the PA system. He closed the panel back quickly and the two girls left fast.

Sayah couldn't wipe the smile off her face.

   Murphy was a good actor.

He would've smirked and bragged about it if he hadn't been pretending to be dead in the middle of a road. He heard the sound of a cart, and a man's footsteps and then they stopped.

   Got you.

He heard the man call out to him and get closer, and suddenly Murphy was grabbed and rolled over. It was so hard not to laugh. Ahh, they were so foolish.

He heard the man mutter something in Grounder Language and then he felt his shoes being untied. Rude. Then suddenly a familiar voice spoke. Emori.

Murphy got up from where he lied, getting to his feet. "Took you long enough."

The man said something to Emori in Grounder Language and then Emori had punched him, knocking him out.

Murphy raised a brow, looking down at the man. "What did he say?"

"He said you're cute for a thief." Emori replied as she turned to look at him.

"Yeah, well too bad he's not really my type." Murphy pursed his lips. He felt Emori's eyes on him and he turned to look at her.

Emori's gaze travelled down to his lips and she leaned in slightly but before she could reach Murphy, he pulled away. He cleared his throat. "I'm sorry. . . I just. . ."

Emori sighed. "Right." She cleared her throat awkwardly too. "Let's get out of here." Murphy nodded and she moved to grab the cart while Murphy went and grabbed his bag hidden behind a tree trunk.

John Murphy had become accustomed to rejecting Emori. In the nicest way possible of course. Even if he didn't feel the same way she did, he still cared about her. Only as one would a very close friend. They were close. Emori just had hoped it would be more, whereas Murphy. . . well he was still stuck on Sayah.

He would always be stuck on Sayah.

So there was no point to get into a relationship with Emori, even if he did feel the same way at one point, because his mind would always be on Sayah.

And his heart never forgot, nor would it let go.

"Oh god," Sayah breathed out as she and Octavia made their way through the fallen warriors. It was terrible.

And Bellamy had taken part in it.

"There." Octavia pointed towards a tent. The two girls made their way to it.

Octavia entered first and Sayah followed, their eyes widening at the sight of not only Indra, but Clarke and Lexa along with other guards.

"Octavia? Sayah?" Clarke questioned, confused. "Where's Kane?"

"He sent us." Octavia replied as they made their way over towards Clarke who was treating an injured Indra.

"Indra. Thank god." Sayah and Octavia crouched beside her.

"How did this happen?" Lexa spoke up.

"Kane lost the election to Pike." Octavia got up and explained. "Everything's different." Sayah stood up and joined Octavia.

"Your people voted for this." Lexa furrowed her brows.

"No." Clarke stood up. "No. I don't believe that."

"What else would it be, Clarke?" Sayah questioned her. "You think any one of us wanted this? No—It's Pike."

"How would even know?" Octavia added to Clarke. "You haven't been here."

"Listen to me, both of you." Clarke told them sternly. "The Grounder army is gonna be here in less than a day. I need to see Bellamy."

"Bellamy was a part of this." Octavia shared the information, knowing Sayah couldn't.

"He's. . . he's with Pike." Sayah added in disappointment. "What makes you think he'll help us?"

"He saved Indra's life." Clarke informed the two girls. Sayah's lips parted. If this was true, then there was hope for him.

"If what Octavia is saying is true," Clarke spoke to Lexa. "Then Pike trusts him. If I can get to him, he can get to Pike."

"You can't just walk through the gates, Clarke." Lexa argued. "You've been living with their enemy. If it were me, I'd kill you on the spot."

"We can get her in." Octavia nodded.

༺═──────────────═༻

It was quiet as Murphy packed things into his bag in the dim-lit cave he and Emori were in. "So where you wanna head to next?" He questioned her. "North? South? I mean, we've been on a heck of a roll."

"I want to go after my brother." Murphy heard Emori reply from behind him.

Murphy paused, turning to face her. "We've talked about this. Otan's with Jaha at camp. Why would you want to go there?"

"He's my brother." Emori argued. Murphy knew why—Of course he knew why. He just doesn't know if he can go back there yet. "If there's a chance, I have to try and get him back." Emori reasoned.

"Going after Otan's not a good move." Murphy told her.

   "John—"

Murphy ignored the way she said his name. "It's not a survivor's move."

"Then wait for me. I'll come back." Emori suggested.

Murphy almost laughed. "In this world, when people leave, they don't come back." It was true. He was the prime example. Leaving sucks. It hurts. It aches. It makes you lose your mind, it tears you apart, it rips your heart into shreds.

   "I did." Emori argued.

"Not for me, you didn't." Murphy shot back. "I just so happened to be there."

"John, come with me." Emori begged and Murphy nearly saw himself. Was this what it felt like? To be on Sayah's end? To have someone close to you leave?

He couldn't go back. He couldn't. Not if he saw her beautiful face and she saw him and. . .

What if she looked at him a totally different way? What if she simply stared right through him because she had moved on? What if she turned to look at someone else the same way she had once looked at him. He couldn't go back there.

"I'm not that stupid." He took a step back away from Emori.

And it felt oh so familiar.

༺═──────────────═༻

"Why are they taking him?" Sayah rushed out as she spotted Lincoln being taken away with other Trikru members. Octavia and Sayah rushed towards him.

"Lincoln!" They called out just before he entered. He turned to his two girls just as they tried to pass but Bellamy stopped them, pulling them back.

"I'm okay. Don't fight this." Lincoln told the girls calmly as he was being pulled away.

   "He's right." Bellamy added.

"Lincoln, what the hell is going on?" Sayah called out to him. He couldn't reply as he was shoved into the holding cell with the others.

"They're interning the Grounders." Bellamy explained. "Lincoln's here because of a disturbance in Sick Bay."

"A disturbance?" Sayah repeated, brows furrowed in confusion and anger.

"What's happening to you?" Octavia questioned him.

   "Octavia—"

"We saw what you and Pike did to Lexa's army." Octavia spat. "Bellamy, you killed everyone!"

"Keep your voice down." Bellamy warned.

Sayah scoffed. "What's wrong? You're not proud of massacring an army that was sent to help us?"

"We're not doing this here." Bellamy told the girls lowly.

"Good. Then let's go, because we aren't even close to done." Octavia hissed. Bellamy pursed his lips before pulling both girls away quickly. Sayah turned back to look at Lincoln who stared back at her, something unrecognisable in his eyes.

"You two need to be careful." Bellamy spoke as they made their way down the halls. "If you guys keep this up, I won't be able to protect you; especially you, Sayah."

"Thanks for the warning." Sayah replied dryly.

"I'm serious." Bellamy said sternly as they stopped at a door. "Look at yourself, Octavia. It is time to stop playing Grounder before you get yourself hurt. And Sayah, you need to start listening to me as well—"

"I'm not playing anything." Octavia interrupted. "This is who I am. Same as Sayah. You're my brother. I shouldn't have to tell you that."

Bellamy shook her head before looking over to Sayah. "It's like I don't even know you anymore." She whispered quietly as Octavia opened the door. Bellamy sighed to himself as he followed Octavia and Sayah in.

His eyes widened when he saw Clarke standing there.

"Now, we're done." Octavia told him before she and Sayah left out the door to let them talk.

Hopefully, Clarke will knock some sense into Bellamy.

༺═──────────────═༻

When Sayah heard that Jaha had returned to camp, her heart stopped. So when she found him, alone, with no John Murphy, she nearly collapsed.

"Is he dead?" The words came out shaky.

Jaha turned to look at her, something unreadable in his eyes. "Sayah. It is good to see you." He paused for a moment and Sayah noticed his eyes move to an empty space in the room. No one was there.

"Is he dead, Jaha?" Sayah repeated, eyes watering slightly.

   "You have much pain—"

"Tell me!" Sayah raised her voice. "Just tell me." She added quietly.

Jaha was silent for a moment before answering. "John Murphy is a survivor. He was alive last I saw him, Sayah. And I'm sure he still is now."

Sayah had to leave after he spoke so that she wouldn't entirely crumble.

༺═──────────────═༻

Sayah hadn't told anyone. Not even Octavia as they made their way down the halls hoping to grab Clarke who Bellamy had arrested.

Turns out that no, Clarke didn't knock some sense into him.

John Murphy was alive. Her mind kept saying. He was alive. He was alive. But he was still gone.

"Believe it or not, I'm doing this for your own good." Sayah heard Bellamy mutter to who she assumed was Clarke as they turned the corner.

"Believe it or not, we're doing this for yours." Octavia and Sayah grunted as they both attacked the guard they walked with Clarke and Bellamy.

Once the guard was out, Bellamy let out a sigh. "You can't just hit a guard!"

"We just did." Sayah told him like he didn't just watch.

   "Let her go." Octavia demanded.

"I can't do that." Bellamy replied, pulling Clarke behind him.

Suddenly, Sayah heard chatter from behind her. "They're coming."

"You two should go." Bellamy advised them sternly. Before they could respond, Clarke moved swiftly and grabbed the electric baton before using it on Bellamy. He gasped and choked as he fell to the floor.

"Clarke, hurry up, keys." Octavia rushed her as Clarke grabbed the keys from Bellamy. Once she got them, the girls rushed down the halls, not before Sayah patted Bellamy guiltily with a small 'sorry Bell'.

They sprinted down before entering the room where Kane and Abby waited. Kane moved quickly, removing the panel from the wall as Clarke and Abby embraced each other.

"Is there anything we can do to prevent a retaliation?" Abby questioned Clarke.

"We came here to give them Pike." Octavia explained.

"He's the duty elected Chancellor." Kane said to Octavia. "Our people knew what they were voting for. Besides, he has all the guards and the guns. Can't get close to him."

"And that's not the way we do things." Abby added in.

"Then maybe it's time we changed the way we do things." Sayah suggested.

Suddenly an alarm rang loudly. "Security breach. Lockdown commencing." A voice came over the PA system.

"You three need to go. Now." Kane ordered as he moved the panel.

"What about Lincoln?" Octavia asked Kane and Sayah nodded, also wondering what would happen to him.

"You want to help him? Do it from the outside." He grabbed something out of his pocket. "With this."

   It was a radio.

"The range isn't great. Stay close and wait for me to contact you two." Kane ordered. Sayah and Octavia nodded before rushing through the hole in the wall. Clarke followed them as Kane put the panel back in place.

Murphy grimaced as he touched the dead bunny lightly, coating his fingers with its blood before wiping it across both of his cheeks.

"I do a much better job of making you look dead." A voice suddenly spoke up from behind him. Murphy jumped, fear striking in his chest.

It was Emori. She was still here.

   "Your brother—" Murphy began.

"It can wait." Emori cut him off. "Until I can convince you to join me. Which I will." She smirked as she walked closer to him. Murphy smirked in return as the sound of chatter and a horse neighing reached them from the distance.

They both turned to the sound. Someone was coming.

"Perfect timing." Murphy commented before he hid his things and laid in the middle of the road. He closed his eyes as he heard the horse draw closer to him. Suddenly, instead of the men being fooled, they pulled Murphy up to his feet. A sword was pointed at him as they spoke in Grounder language. Great.

"We know you're not alone. Where's the girl?" The man spoke in English.

   "She left." Murphy lied.

"Find her." The man ordered his men. "On your knees." He shoved Murphy to his knees, sword still pointed at him.

"You've been caught stealing in the Commander's woods. The punishment for this is death." The man spoke as he placed the sword beneath Murphy's throat. "I'll ask you once more. Where's the girl?"

Murphy lifted his chin, meeting the man's gaze. "Go float yourself." He spat.

Suddenly, one of the warriors called out to the man before picking something up off the ground. Murphy noticed it to be the chip Jaha gave him. He then said something in Grounder.

"Where did you get this?" The man questioned him angrily.

Murphy smirked. He lives another day. "I guess if you kill me now, you'll never find out."

The man snarled before lifting Murphy up. "On your feet." He then guided Murphy away with them. Murphy didn't even turn his head to look into the forest for Emori.

As Sayah and Octavia sat around a campfire, Sayah couldn't stop fidgeting. Octavia must've noticed because she spoke up with a sigh.

"What is it, Sayah?" Octavia questioned, concern evident in her tone.

"John's alive." Sayah blurted out. She had to say it out loud. It made it truly real.

   Octavia knitted her brows. "Really?"

"I saw Jaha as soon as I heard he was back at camp. John wasn't with them, but Jaha says he's sure he's alive." Sayah paused. "And I'm sure too."

"What if he comes back to camp?" Octavia asked. "What will you do?" Sayah was silent for a moment as she stared at the crackling fire in front of them.

"I don't know."
