"Miss could you please help us." you turned. You were on your way back from school. Two kids stood before you with pleading looks. You looked over with a nervous smile. "A-Ah, sure. What do you need?" Both kids smiled, grabbing your hand. You followed as they pulled you along.

You all stopped when you got to a tree. There was a small kitten stuck, meowing helplessly.

"Lu-chan got stuck in the tree. " You tilted your head. "Oh, it's not a problem. " you grinned rolling up your invisible long sleeves as you dropped your school bag. You jumped, landing softly on the tree branch. The kids looked at you in awe.

You inched closer, holding your hand out for it to come. "Come here little kitty it's okay." It looked a bit scared, but bit by bit it started to get closer. It gave your palm a lick and you giggled slightly. It moved closer rubbing into your hand. You picked it up securely. When you looked down your eyes widened when you realized you now had an audience. You flushed when you saw a familiar face amongst the civilians. "W-What is Kensei doing here?" You clutched the kitten closer, jumping down from the tree. When you landed, the people standing there looked at you in slight amazement. You ducked your head, giving the cat to the kids. "Here, be careful next time." you instructed with a smile. They returned it hugging your leg before they took off yelling their thanks.

You laughed, but then jumped a little when people started clapping. "A-Arigatou." you said awkwardly trying to get out of the situation.

"Let's go." Your eyes turned on the reaper. Who apparently finally decided to wear his gigai. He pulled you out of the crowd and you bent grabbing your bag before you were tugged away.

After a while of walking Kensei released your hand but he was staring straight ahead and he wasn't talking to you. "What's your deal?" you asked. He didn't answer and you stopped walking. "If you won't talk to me then I won't waste you time." He stopped looking at you from the corner of his eyes. He looked back at the ground in what seemed like irritation. "You lecture me on being careful but you go around jumping up trees like a maniac. Normal humans can't jump that high. You should be more reserved. " you gave him a glare. "No one is gonna think twice if they see me do something like that Kensei. Unless I started flying that is." He still didn't meet your eyes and it was irritating you. "W-Why are you mad at me!!" you shouted frustrated. Your yell drew the eyes of others walking by. You frowned when you felt the heaviness in your chest. "Whatever! " you turned in the opposite direction running off. "Stupid Kensei..." you felt tears prickling at the edge of your eyes.

Kensei stood there, watching your retreating form in annoyance. "Damn it, why did I let that idiot get to me." He wasn't really mad at you. He'd been chatting with Shinji earlier. Their conversation was still fresh in his mind.

~Flashback~

Shinji and Kensei were strolling through the Six squad barracks casually. Kensei hadn't said much since they got back from the Rukon district. Shinji looked over when he noticed the look on his friend's face. "Sooo! How's it going with you and your little human." Shinji smirked. Kensei frowned. "It's fine." he answered gruffly. "Hmm, are you sure, You sound a bit edgy." Kensei didn't reply, he just kept walking. "Come on what's the problem?" Kensei glared. "Nothing, I just don't want to hear any of your stories." Shinji grinned. "Oh! I see. She's clearly not getting any from you and you're scared she's going to run off with some human." Kensei stiffened. "S-Shut up!" Shinji laughed. "You better watch out, your girl is quite a catch, someone might steal her." With that he went running off and Kensei stood with a grimace. "There's no way she would go for some boring human..."

~Flashback end~

"Why the hell did I let him get to me!" Kensei frowned, taking off in the direction you ran off in.

"I gotta apologize to her. "

You had stopped running after a while. You leaned against a tree nearby. You huffed, completely annoyed with how you handled the situation. You knew Kensei wasn't the type to fuss over nothing. So you must have done something to really upset him. "What did I do.." you couldn't figure it out. Things were fine until today. Did you unintentionally hurt him before and he just never said anything? Your eyes wavered. 

"(Y/N)." you flinched, turning to him. He looked about to say something but you beat him to it. 

"I'm sorry!" you croaked out. You were full on crying now. You hated it, and you would never break down like this in front of anyone other than him. Kensei watched as you got closer trying to wipe your tears frantically. This was the second time he'd seen you in a vulnerable state. And you were apologizing. You didn't even do anything wrong, yet you were apologizing. 

"W-Whatever I did I'm sorry, p-please just don't be mad at m-" you were caught off guard when he closed the distance, pressing his lips to your own. You trembled, but slowly returned the kiss. He pulled back but he looked pissed. "You didn't do anything it was that stupid blond idiot." he grumbled. You looked up in confusion. Kensei's palm rested on your cheek, wiping the tears away slowly. You stood there just gazing at him.

"Shinji said...you would run off with some human if I didn't...if I didn't take care of your needs.." his face got red and you finally got what he was saying. You blushed pulling away. "A-Are you stupid!" you waved your hands crazily. "I-I don't want to do that stuff with anyone but you!!" you spilled. He looked over at you in shock and you covered your mouth when you realized what you said.

"It's not that I...I-I wasn't.." you clenched both your hands to your chest looking over at him. Of course you had thought about it. But you could barely have a full make out session with Kensei without getting embarrassed. Much less do anything else. His eyes softened as he moved closer, pulling you to his chest. "I'm not forcing you into anything. I thought maybe you wanted to, and you were just too scared to say something. I was angry at the stupid thought Shinji put in my head. " 

You sighed, loving the feeling of his strong arms around your body. "Next time just talk to me." you whispered looking up into his eyes. "I...I only want you Kensei. I've had these feelings for years. I don't want anyone else." you confessed. Your words made his chest swell. He grinned and you laughed at the stupid look on his face. "You better not." he held you closer, burying his face into your neck. You giggled when his hair brushed against your neck. Shortly after he pressed a kiss to your skin and your breath hitched when his teeth grazed your flesh. He bit down lightly and you gripped him tighter, trying to stifle any weird sounds from coming out.

"Never forget who you belong to.." He growled against the shell of your ear. His tone made your body quiver in pleasure. You nodded, knees feeling like they would buckle. Kensei picked you up bridal style and you were thankful for the lift. You weren't sure how much more you could take. "Let's go home. " with that he took off into the sky with you in tow.

"I love you.." you said under your breath. He looked down. "Did you say something?" you shook your head. "Nothing." you whispered. "Okay." he replied. His eyes moved back to the front of his and you closed your own with a smile. Kensei smirked.

"I love you too."
