Chapter 15

We were driving in the car, when Bon jovi living on a prayer came on, whippet started singing along quietly like he didn't know the lyrics, then the chorus came 'WHAOOOO WE'RE HALF WAY THERE!!' I was in fits of laughter 'whooooaaaa LIVING ON A PRAYER!' I joined in god knows what the people thought of us outside, two maniacs singing at the top of their voices, he wasn't a bad singer 'I didn't know you sang' I joked 'Errr I don't, because I can't very well' he paused 'unlike you' I could hold a tune, but I wasn't a singer 'oh shurrup' I playfully hit him on his arm.

We arrived at the beach, parking was a nightmare it was so busy, I grabbed my board and the cake balancing was not fun, whippet grabbed his and we "ran" to the tower. 'Heyup whip mate' I heard Kerrbox shout 'Charlie here?' That was mouse I walked up the stairs slowly with the cake 'what you got there?' Maxi chipped in 'I've brought cake' this got all their attentions, Azza, Kobi, Mouse and Maxi they all came over to me, leaving Kerrbox sat watching the water, I saw him roll his eyes and carry on watching everyone in the ocean. 'Why you brought cake?' Asked Kobi 'she's just opened a cafe across the street' whippet smiled 'ooooh' they all said in unison 'you've bagged ya self a good en here mate' mouse laughed grabbing whippet and rubbing his hair, I blushed and passed the cake to Maxi. He took it over and opened it up, 'WOW!' The others went over to look, it was like they'd never seen a cake before! They all took a piece, no plates just their fingers, every single one of them mumbled something to me through a mouthful of cake, I smiled and whippet tugged at my arm 'shall we go surf?' He smiled I nodded leaving the guys with...well...what was left of their cake.

We got down to the waters edge...well I got down a bit quicker, my feet still weren't used to that chuffing sand, it was like walking on hot coals. I stood with my feet in the water wiggling my toes in the soft wet sand. Whippet came and stood next to me, 'you ready?' I nodded I was really nervous. We ran out into the sea till knee deep and then we hopped on our boards, paddling out to where the waves were pretty decent.

When we got there I saw a set of waves coming I turned my board and started paddling, Whip was doing the same the wave was just about to break on us but it pushed us both I was on my hands and knees and Whip was standing up, he was brilliant he looked like a professional, which I suppose he kinda was. 'Stand up!' He shouts, okay here goes what have I got to lose, except my dignity and maybe my costume...I got to me feet and slowly began to rise, I was doing it, on my own I was standing up on my board, I raised my arms in the air 'woooohoooooo' I cheered, whippet laughed and brought his board closer to mine 'go on Charlie!' He cheered. When the water was beginning to get shallow I pulled out of the wave and began to paddle out again.

*WHIPPET POV*

She was doing it, she looked gorgeous, a natural in the water, her hair blowing in the wind, and her smile, how had I got so lucky? I made my board come close to hers so I could cheer her on, she pulled out of the wave when it got shallow, I did the same and we both paddled out together. Her slim figure laid on the board, she was wearing a dark red bikini, the water droplets sat on her back and the sun reflecting off them, she was beautiful.

*MY POV*

Another wave came, we paddled fast and hard to catch this one, but I missed it it broke on my back, dragging me under with my board, I swam to the surface and pulled myself back onto the board. Whippet had let this wave go and was sat on his board in hysterics 'soo glad I can entertain you' I giggled 'oh you certainly did that' he continued to laugh I paddled over to his board and jumped off mine, I swam under him and pushed his over, 'whoa!' He managed to say before splashing the water. We were far enough away from the other surfers so we weren't in anyone's way. I laughed and swam back to my board and jumped on, a leg either side, I waited and watched For him to come up....he didn't come up, oh god what if I'd pushed him off and he had hit his head? I looked at the water and couldn't see anything my heart began to quicken, OMG I'd killed him. As I continued to search I felt two hand on my back and a big push 'ahhhh' I screamed as I fell into the water. I swam up and found whippet resting his elbows on my board. 'OMG RYAN!!' I screamed at him 'what!?!' He laughed innocently 'I thought I'd killed you or something!' This caused him to laugh more. I splashed water at him, seriously bad move we were only chest deep in the water, he picked up my board and hit it in the water sending water spraying all over me I grabbed his board and began to paddle away I thought I was doing well, turns out he had grabbed the back of it and I was going nowhere.

He twisted the board sending me in again we were now waist deep, I swam to him and jumped on his shoulders dunking him in. He swam down deeper so he could get me off them, then grab my ribs. He began wiggling his fingers, I was squirming around, I probably looked like I was having some sort of fit! He then lifted me onto my board. He pushed us a bit further in so we were the same (ish) height. He came between my legs again so I wrapped them round him, 'this time I will kiss you!' I giggle and looked up, oh no he wasn't there was a wave looming behind I tapped him on his shoulder and pointed behind him, he turned round 'shit!' He dove under the wave leaving me on my board the wave took me off....backwards 'sshiiiittttttttt' I screamed all the way to shore, i saw him swimming towards me, trying to swim to me but he wasn't quick enough my board hit the sandbank and made me fall backwards. I laid on my board looking up into the sky when Whip appeared over me smiling, 'that was some serious skill!' He pulled me up I laughed, 'yeah well there're you go, at least I have some skill!' 'Im sure you have more' there was his eye twinkle again...

We went back up to the tower and the guys gave me a round of applause, 'I don't think I've ever seen backwards surfing done so well' Mouse joked winking at me 'I'm going to have to try that' Maxi laughed, we all joked about my little skill I seemed to have developed when we got talking about a party the guys were having the next night. 'Are you coming Charlie?' Kobi turned to me, 'oh no I couldn't it's a lads night' I smiled although I was desperate to go. 'Dont be daft you're one of us now' he smiled, he was lovely! 'And you make cakes!' Kerrbox laughed, Whip turned round to face me smiling, 'pleassseee' I nodded 'yeah!' maxi cheered, it was nice to be part of them, it was like a little family.

Chappo walked in from dinner, perfect time for Whip to tell him he was moving out, 'where've you been the last few nights?' Chappo said playfully hitting him on the arm 'yeah mate you get your house back...I'm moving in with Charlie' his smile was the biggest. 'You any idea what you're getting yourself into?' Chappo looked over Whips shoulder 'I can cope...just' I chuckled 'you can get all your crap outta my house then!' He turned back to whippet, he just nodded. 'Ive saved you a slice of cake' I said as I gave him a small piece wrapped up in foil, 'I saved it from these guys before they devoured the whole thing' he smiled and opened it up, 'it smells delicious' 'it is delicious!' Maxi piped up 'I can tell! You've got it all over your schnoz' Chappo laughed, Maxi went bozz eyed trying to spot his chocolate covered nose.

As we were leaving Kobi called after me 'we will be seeing you tomorrow night won't we, for sure?!' 'Yeah I suppose you might' I giggled 'great! See ya then!' He waved us off as we got in Whips car to go home.
