epilogue - reunited

20:52, 2 March 2023

Two women were walking to the cemetery of Mondstadt. One was an elderly woman, the other was a young one, looking like she was in her early twenties.

One would think they were a grandma and her grandchild, but in reality, they were sisters.

The elderly woman's once straw blonde hair was now white, wearing it in a tight braid. Her face was wrinkled, but she still maintained the beauty she possessed when she was young. Centuries of knowledge apparent in her green eyes.

Her sister was relatively tall, taller than the old woman ever was. She wore her hair now in one ponytail instead of two, and she was more mature than she used to be.

"It's okay now, Klee, I want to go there alone" said the old woman, letting go of her sister's elbow.

"Okay" whispered Klee, her voice cracked because she knew that it was the last time she saw her precious 'big sis'.

The woman continued her walk to two special gravestones. She sat down, resting her arms on her knees.

"I'm back, my boys" she chuckled, reaching both of her hands towards the two gravestones, gently running her fingers on the names engraved on it.

One name belonged to her late husband, the man she loved the most, while the other name was her best friend's. And the two man were brothers once, ages ago.

The woman lived a painfully long life. She watched her husband die, she watched her children and grandchildren grow old and die.

She witnessed the world change, partook in wars until Tevyat found its final peace where everyone can live happily.

And she had only one wish that she managed to make true: she wanted to find a way to grow old just like her two boys did and find her final peace.

And there she sat, with white hair, wrinkled face and weak body. She leaned her back to her husband's grave, reaching her left hand to touch her friend's gravestone.

Tears of joy and relief gathered in the corners of her ancient eyes.

"Now we can be together, again" she whispered as she closed her eyes.

She slowly fell into slumber, the weight of her long life finally lifting off, ready to be finally reunited with the boys who were so dear to her.

The light of her dendro vision slowly faded away as she found her final peace.
