Chapter 17

"What are Newton's Law of Motion?" said Bakugo-kun.

"Oh! I know this! Ah... the first one is when every object moves in a straight line unless acted upon by a force...Second one is the acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force exerted and inversely proportional to the object's mass and the third one is for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction!" gushing excitedly as I was able to recite those.

"And what's the other term for the 1st law?"

"Other term?!" I know this, I know this, I should know this! "Ah! Law of Ratio!"

"LAW OF INERTIA!" he growled.

"Ah! Yeah, yeah, I knew that! I just slipped... hehehe" giving him a peace sign.

"Tsk."

"C'mon! We both know I did a good job there." Giving his shoulder a nudge.

"Whatever." flickering my forehead back.

"Ow!" pressing my forehead.

"Now, time to move on to the next chapter." Said Bakugo-kun as he flips the book on the next mark.

"Woah, woah! Already?!" pouting at him.

"You're behind and you have the guts to stop?" glaring at me.

I hesitated a little bit then just said, "Yes?"

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! YOU DON'T-

"Alright! Alright! I just... don't have that motivation." Placing my chin on the table.

Letting out a sigh, "What do you want?" he said.

"ForoneIwantmypictureback..." raising my index finger.

"What does that have anything with this?" crossing his arms.

Of course it doesn't have anything with this! It's just that I can't say that in front of your face or say it in the classroom because people will ask questions and we're not exactly 'friendly' in class. Also, it's weird that you just took it. I found it you know! In the midst of that pile, I was able to get it unnoticed! Not that I was hiding it or that anything was wrong with it, but you know!

"Nothing." I simply said.

"Then let's just go through this."

"Give me back the photo Bakugo-kun." Straightening my back now.

"Why do you want it?" he whispered.

"Well, coz...I... ah... found it." Looking at the table coz for some reason, I don't want to look him in the eye.

"It's amazing that you were even able to find this in that pile"

"Yeah, well... I saw a glimpse of blonde... then just took it." Now playing with the ends of the notebook.

"You know, you don't have to avoid looking at me just to say that."

Is he playing with me?

Fine.

"Y-Yeah!" now looking at him. "Then what about you? Why do you want it?!" biting the inner bottom of my lip.

I just want him to get mad. Say something idiotic that you shouldn't say to a girl or to any person because it's just a grand insult. Something that always ends up me apologizing then everything is back to normal. Yet he remained steadfast.

After a minute or two he finally lets out a sigh.

"I guess we both can't say it huh?" he said, sliding the picture across the table towards me.

-------------------------------

"Mom! Is dinner ready?! He's coming soon!"

"Well! If you're actually helping rather than just choosing your clothes for 2 hours now, maybe we could've finished this already!"

It's finally Saturday and as planned, Deku-kun is having dinner with us. It's not the first time he's coming over, but I can't help but still get nervous about this. Maybe because the first time he was here, we were only dating for a week and I thought that everything would be normal when he and my parents meet, but it became quite a disaster. He got really timid, and for some reason my parents became fierce. And that was just the start of it.

I want tonight to be normal. Not perfect, just normal. Where he can be comfortable and they can be...nice. It's been 3 months since we started dating and well, time did sure pass fast. And unfortunately this is only the 2nd time they'll be hanging out together. I just hope there are no secret allergies that we're just going to find out today.

As I took out the 8th dress from the wardrobe, I decided to put on the 1st set I got. I wore a plain white shirt tucked in with a green leather skirt and left my hair as it is. Just then the doorbell rang. I ran towards the front door and unlocked it. Before me was Deku-kun with his unusually never before seen clothes.

"Are you wearing a polo?" I said.

"Well... I do believe this is what they are called." Smiling sheepishly on me.

I let out a giggle. "Come in Deku-kun." Leading him inside.

"Th-thank you for having me." He slowly took out his shoes on the entrance. "By the way, I got you desserts." As he handed me a box of cheese tarts.

"Oh! You didn't have to Midoriya-kun!" said my mom as she surprisingly appears before us.

"Ah! No! It's alright Mrs. Ochaco... it's my pleasure!" stiffening suddenly.

"No need to be so tense Midoriya-kun" said my dad as he makes his way towards us. "Welcome to our home again. It's been quite a long time. You should visit more often you know. Well you and my daughter anyway. Those dorms really keep you guys from us. Hahaha!"

"Yeah! And it's really good to see you alright sir." Said Deku-kun.

"Thank you Midoriya-kun."

We all then led him to the dining area then set up the table. I guess I wasn't the only one who got nervous because my mom just prepared almost everything. It was a feast. We sat down around the dining and the interrogation started almost as immediately, but it wasn't as bad as the first time at all. Maybe because my dad started on school topics which was Deku-kun's expertise. He was able to relax as soon as he started talking about our internships and how fun hero training is going. This is just going better than I expected. Also, there were no secret allergies, so everything is good.

"By the way Midoriya-kun, thank you for being with my daughter that day." Said dad.

"Which day are you talking about sir?" said Deku-kun.

"That day when I got into an accident and we video called this girl." Pointing at me.

Oh no.

"Oh... I don't think-

"Well because of you, I was a little bit at ease. Knowing that I'm not the only man in her life now, and not just any man, but a really good one. Thank you for taking care of her." Comforted dad.

Deku-kun was quiet for a moment then he looked at me.

"Of course sir."

"This cheese tarts really taste great." I nervously said.

"That's true." Said mom.

---------------------------------

Dinner was done in a flash. Dad still had an excuse about the accident so my mom took care of the dishes. As they were doing the chores, I walked Deku-kun out of the house.

"Thanks for coming today Deku-kun. That was pretty fun." I was waiting for him to say something but I guess there was still something on his mind. "I'll walk you to the bus st-

"Are you hiding something from me?"

"Wha!"

"Ah! Sorry! Didn't mean to startle you or anything. I was just... you know curious. About that boy your dad was talking about." Scratching his chin.

Ah.

That boy.

He wasn't supposed to be there wasn't he. You were the one who was supposed to. You're the boyfriend after all. It's not a responsibility, but if people were going to think about it, the person I'm supposed to be with is you. That would just make so much sense.

But I wasn't. I wasn't with you. And that makes things complicated.

"He was a friend." I mumbled.

"And he was there with you when I wasn't."

This conversation just makes me want to run away and go back to lala land.

"Are you jealous?" I said jokingly.

He stopped on his tracks and went in front of me. He took both my hands and clamped it on his.

"Yeah I am." Looking directly at my eyes.

"Deku-kun-

"It was supposed to be me. I was the one who should have seen you hurting, or even a little bit sad." Pausing, he continued. "I know that I can be shy or distracted with our school. But things are different now." Tightening and loosening his grip once in a while. "I confessed to you because I wanted to be closer to you. I want you to know that you can tell me anything. I can get really embarrassed easily when it comes to this romance stuff, but because it's you. I want to be good. And... if you're not telling me anything, I can't be good. You have to stop telling me you're fine all the time."

"I know." I whispered.

"Can you do that?"

Nodding at him, I couldn't help but feel something in the pit of my stomach.

"I should get going." Letting go of my hands.

"Thank you Deku-kun." Assuring him. "I want to be good too."

"Yeah." Smiling back at me. "See you in school."

"See you."
