-Chapter Thirty Four-

Grinning up at Finn, I placed a hand innocently on my hip as I waited for him to reply. All I wanted to do, right now, was get this 'discussion' over with and go home so I could just go to bed on my nice, very comfy bed.

Finn tilted his head down to look at me, a half smile present on his face as he stood to the side, swaying his arm out to the side as a signal for me to go in the direction he was motioning. I nodded my head slightly, forcing myself to move forwards, grinning evilly at Dylan as he growled at me when I passed, causing me to snicker. Karma's a bitch.

I pressed my lips together when I saw Rebekah and Kol stood either side of a large chair, Rebekah leaning casually over the top of it, her arms folded with a smirk that made my skin crawl. Swallowing slightly, I continued to push myself forward, knowing that they probably only did want to talk and nothing more. About what? I had no idea. I guess I'll find out in a moment.

"Please," Rebekah grinned, pushing herself away from the chair and nodding her head down towards it, "take a seat."

I shot her a sarcastic grin before an emotionless expression replaced it, allowing myself to sink down, trying desperately to ignore the intimidation I felt as the four Originals and Dylan stared down at me curiously.

It was silent for a moment and I took the opportunity to cross over my legs quickly, leaning back into the plush material that covered the wooden frame of the chair, letting myself relax in the silence that engulfed all of us. My foot absentmindedly began to tap in mid-air, my lips puckering out in a bored manner as I raised a challenging eyebrow at Dylan who was sneering at me from across the room.

When he didn't divert the sneer once we made eye contact, I frowned, cocking my head to the side as I narrowed my eyes slightly. "Do I have something on my face or are you just enjoying the view?" I snapped, the mere prescence of him irritating me beyond belief.

His sneer grew across his face, his eyes narrowing. "Have you ever thought about maybe using glue instead of lip balm?"

"Have you ever thought about growing a pair of balls?"

"Have you ever thought about actually making an effort with your appearance?"

"Have you ever thought about taking a look in the mirror and asking yourself that question?"

"What are you trying to say?" He growled, moving his good hand away from his now-dislocated shoulder and stepping towards me, his teeth bared and eyes narrowed dangerously.

I was about to jump out my seat and fight this little shit when Liam suddenly stood in front of me, gripping Dylan's damaged shoulder, a loud growl erupting from his throat. I grinned over his shoulder, watching Dylan stare at me, obviously trying not to cry out in pain from where Liam was holding him.

"Don't touch her." Liam growled, pushing Dylan away. Dylan simply growled but backed off, his hand instantly going up to his shoulder, a wince crossing his face as he touched the tender spot of his shoulder.

Hearing an amused chuckle from across the room, both Liam and I turned around to face Kol and Rebekah who were watching us both with an expression I couldn't quite place. I frowned, why were they staring at us?

"Well, that was entertaining." Rebekah commented, looking over to Kol for a moment who was smirking at the both of us.

Finn scowled at the two of them from his place against the wall behind them and pushed himself off the wall, stalking over to us with a frown. "Brooklyn, why don't you take a seat? I'm sure Elijah will be with us soon enough."

"Sooner than you think, brother."

All of us shot around in our positions, staring at the wide open double doors that led into the room where Elijah stood, a smirk on his cleanly shaven face. His brown hair was perfectly styled, jelled back slightly so that it wasn't in his face. He wore a neat suit that looked perfectly kept, there wasn't a single mark on it. A black tie was tucked into his jacket and it was perfectly aligned. I swallowed at the sight of him, his aura intimidating me slightly. I could tell by the way he held himself that he was the more superior Original in the room.

His stare diverted to me once he'd speculated around the room, a smile slowly growing on his face the longer he stared at me. "Hello, again." he said suddenly, causing me to frown. What did he mean again? I've met him before?

Nerves bubbled in my stomach and I was now suddenly a lot more nervous for this discussion than I had been before.

"Please, sit down, Brooklyn," he offered politely, waving out his hand in a motion telling me to sit down. I didn't give it a second thought and sat down, my body settling back into the familiar feeling of plush material, my back sinking into the back of it slightly. Elijah advanced, his hands now clasped professinally infront of him, his held titled upwards slightly as he began to circle around the large chair that everyone had suddenly surrounded.

Elijah diverted his intimidating stare to his brothers who stood behind me, an eyebrow raised as he paused in his steps momentarily. "I trust you briefed her on what this situation is about?"

Kol smiled slightly. "We thought it best to leave that to you. You are the most persuasive after all."

A knowing grin spread across Elijah's lips at his brothers words, his eyes flickering down to me. I squirmed slightly in my seat, glancing away from the vampire in front of me.

"Don't look so scared, Brooklyn," I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at the use of my full name again, but instead looked up at Elijah with a raised eyebrow. "We're only here to-"

"To talk? Yeah. So I've been told." I interrupted him, allowing my arm to drape over the arm rest of the chair, my posture relaxing.

An admirable grin slowly spread across the tips of his mouth, his eyes darting up to his family behind the chair I was in. "You were right. She is very....lively."

"She is also sitting right here." I smirked sarcastically, waving my hands slightly to regain his attention.

"Indeed you are," Elijah nodded, straightening his posture. "I must admit though, I never thought you would co-operate and come here."

I stared at him blankly, my eyes trailing past his tall figure to the little shit named Dylan who stood near the door behind him, an evil grin on his face. "Have you been bullshitting everyone?" I snapped, exasperated at the fact that Elijah is now the 3rd person to think I came here on my own accord. Dylan just grinned at me, his shoulders shaking slightly from the laughter he was holding in. Giving him a quick sneer, I shot my eyes back up to Elijah who was looking at me expectantly. "I did not come here by my own will," I explained for the millionth time, pointing a finger at Dylan, "your little groupie smashed a vase on my head before dragging my ass back here."

Elijah's eyebrows shot up in surprise, his torso spinning around slowly to face Dylan, who simply glared back at me. "Is that true?" Elijah asked, almost too calmy for my liking.

Dylan rolled his eyes, slapping a hand to his side in annoyace. "She wasn't co-operating?"

"You didn't even ask me if I wanted to come! You dragged me into a room and suddenly BAM you're destroying a perfectly good antique!" I defended, feeling myself get more and more enraged the more he kept bullshitting.

"Oh, like you would've come if I asked you." He shot back, narrowing his eyes.

"Maybe if you said 'please' I might have considered it." I snapped sarcastically, pushing myself up slightly from my seat, only to be pushed back down by Liam, an amused grin on his face.

"I'll deal with you later," Elijah muttered, turning back to me with a serious expression. "I'm going to get straight to the point, Brook." he said, his change in mood taking me off guard slightly. I simply nodded, settling back into the seat, swallowing quietly.

"You've met Liam before, yes?"

I looked back at Liam with an unsure expression, confused as to where Elijah was going with this.

"Yes..." I said, frowning slightly.

"Before you met him," he crouched down to my eye level. "were you aware that you are not a fully fledged vampire?"

My frown deepened, now extremely confused and uncomfortable with this situation. How the hell did he know about that? My first thought jumped to Katherine but I quickly dismissed it as she was on the run from Klaus at the moment and going near the Originals might mean they would hand her in. And being the selfish twat she is, I doubted she would risk her own skin just to snitch on me, even if it meant she'd get something out of it.

"Yes, I was," I said slowly, "where are you going with this?"

Elijah nodded slightly after receiving my answer, momentarily ignoring my question as he shared a look with his siblings. I felt my almost non-existant heart beat rise slightly, my palms beginning to sweat nervously.

"Now," Elijah spoke once again, his tone now almost caring and condescending at the same time. "are you aware of your powers?"

My heart jumped slightly and my eyes widened. What the hell?

"What illegal substance are you consuming?" I yelled slightly, leaning forward in my seat to stare at him. "I don't have any powers, what are you smoking?"

"So you're unaware of your abilities?"

"I don't have any abilities!" I shouted, not wanting his words to have any meaning whatsoever. Powers meant responsibility and everyone knew that if I had the ability to do anything even more supernatural than what I am, then God save the world because I would not have a clue as to what I was doing. "I'm not even a full vampire! You just said so yourself!"

Elijah simply smiled fondly at me. "That, my dear, is exactly what gives you your abilities."

I closed my eyes, slamming my back harshly into the back of the chair, taking in a few deep breaths. This was too much to comprehend right now. "And you couldn't of sent me a fricking text about all this? You had to kidnap me?" I snapped, my sarcasm getting the better of me and trying to lighten the situation.

As you all have probably guessed, when I'm in situations like this, I resort to sarcasm. It's a wonderful thing to use because everyone just gets confused.

"It's easier this way." Kol spoke softly from behind me.

"For you, maybe," I grumbled, crossing my arms in annoyance, "I'm missing Arrow for this, damn it."

Liam chuckled from behind me, causing me to look up at him in confusion. He was shaking his head slightly, a bright smile across his face. I took this moment to admire him for who he was when his guard was down. He was so breathtaking.

My lips parted as I looked up at him for a moment, my stomach fluttering as I allowed myself to take in this moment.

"Brooklyn," the call of my name brought me back to my senses, shaking my head slightly I looked back at Elijah who looked at me curiously, his head tilted curiously as to why my attention had gone AWOL.

"Hm?" I hummed in a questioning manner, silently asking him to repeat what he had said.

"Your powers. Does anyone else know about them?"

I rolled my eyes, "I doubt that if I didn't even know about them, then no one else does."

"We did," Rebekah chastised from behind, raising her eyebrows at me.

"Yeah, but you guys practically stalk us so no surprise there."

A grin spread across her face. "Feisty. I like it."

I rolled my eyes, turning back around to face Elijah who was watching us in amusement. "Then allow me to enlighten you on just what you're capable of."
