*-*Third Person's POV*-*

"I said medium-well!" Lucas yells loudly, after they arrived at the junkyard, to find Steve and Dustin, throwing buckets of meat, in a pile on the ground, and just as Meliah predicted Dustin didn't seem to happy to see the red head there.

Meliah couldn't believe those two were having their little girl's talk hiding behind a car and leaving everything for the girl's and Steve to do, seeing Max struggle, she went to give the girl a helping hand, the red head girl gave her a thankful smile. Meliah did almost jump out of her skin, when Steve hit a chair against the car where the two boys were gossiping.

"Hey! Dickheads! How come the only one helping me out is this random girl and Liah?" Steve questions them, but he didn't even give them time to answer. "We lose light in 40 minutes. Let's go. Let's go, I said!" Steve yells, wanting to get this over with.

"All right, asshole! God!" Dustin states.

"Okay! Stupid."

They gathered everything they could use to cover the bus, to make the perfect hideout for Dart if he wants to attack them, they put up a trap, to catch the little monsters, before a person could end up dead. Steve threw gasoline from the meat to the entrance of the bus, the plan was to burn it, when it got to the bait.

After everything was ready the five climb into the bus, closing the bus door, and waited. Meliah and Lucas was in charge of keeping lookout, so they were sitting on the roof with binoculars.

Max joined the two on the roof, since Dustin seemed to be Mr cranky pants, who was up past his bedtime.

"It's kinda awesome." Max spoke up.

"Huh?" Lucas asks, only realising she was there now.

"The fog, I mean. Looks like the ocean." Max says, Meliah noticed a distant look on the girls face. "Do you miss it?" She asks the girl.

"What?" Max asks, not understanding what the teenage girl was actually asking her. "The ocean. The waves? California?" Lucas adds, joining in on the conversation, when she didn't answer him right away, he said, "Hawkins seems pretty lame, I bet."

"No, no, no, it's not that. It's just... My dad's still there. So..." Max said, trailing off, with a sad expression on her face.

"Why?" Lucas asks, Meliah wanted to hit him against the head, for being so inconsiderate. "It's this legal term called 'divorce.' See, when two married people don't love each other anymore..." Max explains, thinking Lucas didn't know what she was talking about.

"Yeah."

"My mom and my stepdad, they wanted a fresh start away from him. As if... As if he was the problem, which is total bull. And things... are just worse now. My stepbrother's always been a dick, but now he's just angry... all the time and... Well, he can't take it out on my mom, so..." Max tells them, staring into the distance.

"Wait, so, Billy takes it out on you?" Meliah asks curiously, knowing it was true, but she wanted to hear it from the girl, but max just avoided the question, giving Meliah the answer anyway. "I don't even know why I'm telling you this. It's just... I know that I can be a jerk like him sometimes, and I do not want to be like him. Ever. I guess I'm angry, too, and...I'm sorry." Max says to Lucas, Meliah went to keep a lookout, leaving the two middle schoolers to their conversation.

"Jesus! What's wrong with me?" Max says, wiping a few tears that have escaped. "Hey. You're nothing like your brother, okay? You're cool and different. And you're super smart. And you're, like, totally tubular." Lucas says to the girl, making her laugh.

"Nobody actually says that, you know." Max points out.

"Well, I do now." Lucas says,

"And it makes you seem really cool." Max tell him.

"I like talking with you, Mad Max."

"And I like talking with you, stalker."

Growling came from the distance, it had everyone on their feet, Meliah and Lucas trying to see the creature between all the mist. "Lucas, Liah, what's going on?" Dustin yells from in the bus.

"Hold on!"

The growling got closer, Lucas being the first to spot it. "I've got eyes! Ten o'clock! Ten o'clock!" He yells, Meliah looked and saw that it wasn't actually the Demogorgon, it was a lot smaller, which could only be one thing.

"Wait. You sure that's not a dog?" Max asks, after she also looked through his binoculars.

"What?"

In the cloud of mist, it was hard to see, what it was doing, Meliah saw Steve getting out the bus, his bat in hand, swinging it around, walking closer to where Dart was.

Steve started whistling to get Dart's attention. "Come on, buddy." He says, continuing to whistle. Meliah kept a close eye on her friend, who was about to be eaten if he didn't do any of this right.

"Come on, buddy. Come on, buddy. Come on. Dinner time. Human tastes better than cat, I promise." Steve calls out, a little later, Dart emerged , closing in on him.

"Steve, watch out!" Meliah shouts loudly, but Steve didn't see the other monster that appear behind him. "A little busy here!" Steve yells back.

"Three o'clock! Three o'clock!" Lucas shouts, making Steve look behind him, to see the monster, who was growling at him.

"Steve!" Dustin shouts, running to the bus door opening it, yelling to Steve, "Steve! Abort! Abort!" Steve run's, rolling over one of the car's, so that he doesn't get eaten, as the two monsters chased after him. Meliah and Lucas climbed down into the bus, going to the door, as all of them were yelling to Steve.

"Steve, run!"

"Steve, hurry!"

"Steve, run!"

The Harrington boy, jumped into the bus, Meliah slammed the door shut, just as Dart and his friend crashed into the busses door.

"Shit!"

"Are they rabid or something?" Max asks, in all the panic, but no one answered her, stopping the things from getting into the bus. "They can't get in! They can't!" Lucas yells, only trying to convince himself. The monsters growled loudly, making the bus swinging around, as they try to get in.

One's leg came through a opening, having those inside the bus just back screaming.

"Shit!"

As Steve was hitting it with the bat, Dustin started yelling into his headset which was connect to the radio they use to communicate with each other. "Is anyone there? Mike? Will? God! Anyone!" A loud bang came from outside the bus. "Shit We're at the old junkyard, and we are going to die!" Dustin yells.

Max and Meliah stared up at the opening to the roof, when one of the monsters appeared, staring down at them, the two girl's screamed, steve ran to where they were pushing the two of the way.

"Out of the way! Out of the way! You want some? Come get this!" Steve shouts, holding up his bat, the monster, screeched and growled at the teenager. Monsters growling in the distance seemed to have grabbed the things attention, because it just suddenly ran off.

"Jeez."

One after the other they got off the bus, seeing the monsters run away in a certain direction.

"What happened?" Lucas asks.

"I don't know." Max says.

"Steve scared 'em off?" Dustin asks.

"No. No way." Steve says with a shake of his head.

"They're headed somewhere specific." Meliah points out.
