Hallucinating

04:23, 12 June 2014

When she woke up, Raven found herself lying sideways on a bed in the infirmary. She tried to speak, but began to cough harshly instead. Raven sat up, but a green gloved hand pushed her down. "Whoa, you need lie down Rae. The coughing will only get worse." Robin was sitting in a chair on her right, book in hand. She again tried to speak, but went into a fit of coughing. Robin handed her a pen and pad and said,"Here, use this."Raven started writing, and faced it to Robin. Robin read. aloud. "Can I have some tea please? Yeah, sure, I'll be right back." He walked out if the room, and Raven sighed. She closed her eyes, but jumped when she felt metal on her skin. A hand came over her mouth, and she soon realized the metal was a knife. It pressed into her skin, and Raven felt blood trickle down her wrist. She looked up, but whoever had done it was gone. The knife lay on the bed next to her, but no trace of Slade remained. Robin came back in, a cup of tea in his hand. As soon as he saw the blood, he put the tea on a tray and ran to her side. Raven lifted the pad with her untouched hand, but Robin shook his head and began to wrap her wrist. He saw the knife and slowly took it from the bed. Raven once again reached for the pad, but he stopped her. "What just happened Rae? I was gone for five minutes, and I come back to this?"  She finally took the pad and wrote on it. "Slade" appeared in big, bold letters. Robin took the pad, read it, and threw it on the chair. "Raven, no one could've gotten in. We did a security sweep this morning, and put the building on lockdown." Raven let the words sink in, and spoke. She didn't care if it caused a cough. "So what are you implying? That I did this myself? Robin, I would never make something like this up!" She got up from the bed, coughed a few times, and checked the security cameras. Her eyes stayed glued to the screen as she watched the footage. Her dark magic had taken a knife, covered her mouth, and cut her. Robin showed up behind her, worry in his voice. "Rae, you obviously aren't stable right now, so let's go back to the infirmary and check you out." He grabbed her arm, but she pulled away. "I'm perfectly fine! I don't know what happened, but I saw Slade!" She phased through the door and ran into her room, locking and barricading it. Raven flopped on her bed, and let her emotions take control. Embarrassment, Rage, Confusion, and Timid. They swirled around in her head, causing her room to become a mess from her powers. Am I hallucinating? She asked herself, scared of an answer. "Raven." Slade's voice echoed through the room. "You're not real." She whispered, running to her window and opening the blinds, revealing light. A piece of glass came flying through the air, barely missing her face. Raven ran from her room, crashing into Robin. He picked her up, and brushed himself off. "Raven, your emotions are causing you to hallucinate." His face was filled with concern. Raven began to cry and pulled him to her. All of this was just too much to handle. He slowly guided her back to the infirmary, where she sat on the edge of the bed. "Robin?" Her voice came out small and scared. He turned to her, supplies in hand. "Yeah?" She looked down, watching her hands. "I'm scared." She felt her eyes well up with tears, but held back. Robin dropped the stuff onto a tray and took her hand in his. "Raven, we'll figure this out, even if it takes days, months, or years. Every step of the way I'll be there for you, because I love you." He kissed her forehead, and Raven blushed. Robin went back to his supplies. "I love you too." It was quiet, but Robin still heard it. Raven looked at her wrist, and it was then that she knew why her emotions were like this, it was him. Not Robin. It was Slade. She remembered him injecting something in her, something that would make her go crazy. She turned to Robin, waiting for him to look at her. When he did, she sighed, and let the information loose. "Robin? I know why this is happening."
