Attack on Titan: Armin's Diary
04:22, 7 November 2018
It was another ordinary day for Kiyomi. Today There was scheduled to be training for the Scouts, since nobody usually ever trains because they very much prefer to slack around like the lazy oafs they are.
This frustrated Kiyomi since she is always working so hard, not only accomplishing her duties, but splits time everyday for training. And being forced to do training for an extended amount of time because there are people who have been slacking off too much, wasn't fair.
Kiyomi knew this deep down, but decided to suck it up. Extended training shouldn't hurt any. If anything at all, it's good for everyone for health reasons.
First was a thousand push ups, next was squats, next was fist fighting, then a job in the woods. While jogging, it was raining quite hard and what once was large chunks of dry dirt on the ground turned into sloppy mud that didn't want to let go if your dashing feet.
During everyone's job, out a bag of Armin's was a fallen notebook. Kiyomi panics upon watching it fall straight in the mud and she hurries up in speed and picks it up. Luckly no pages got muddy and it was just and front and back cover that took the toll.
Kiyomi grabbed a cloth she happened to have on her and wiped it off. But then when her gaze returned to ahead, she noticed she was being left behind! She darts over and manages to catch up to everyone but she lost sight of Armin.
Seeing how she had nothing better to do during the intense jog, she shifted her attention to reading in Armin's notebook while keeping up the pace.
She reads each and every word carefully as if it was made by an majestic angel or god. She read and read each word, memorizing every bit of it in her smart brain, and treasured being given a chance to read Armin's writing.
She loved being able to take a peek at Armin's inner thoughts. And with this diary, she was able to. But then as she reached farther and farther, her face began heating up.
In the diary, Armin would write about his thoughts and feelings towards his fellow comrades and friends. And Kiyomi reached far enough to read Armin's thoughts and feelings towards her.
They started out curious, then understanding, and then sweet, and after all that...in love. Through Armin's Diary, Kiyomi learned Armin Arlert's deepest secrete. That secretly, he had feelings for her-- romantic feelings. Feelings of love.
He wrote how he wished to confess to her, but he was afraid of being turned down and damaging their current relationship. But aside from that, he was worried if he fell deeper in love with Kiyomi, if they would up being together, his mind would fog up and she would distract him and mess with his head.
He wrote how he fears this because this kind of thing can happen to a lot of people. And it's usually a very bad thing when you are a soldier fighting in a war.
A soldier must always focus on the goal instead of worrying over a loved one. Doing so could cause the mission to go sour or hurt you or the one you love.
Armin thinks that having a clear mind while fighting in a war is always important. In his diary, he also adds that perhaps once all the fighting and war is over, once Humanitie is able to live in peace once again, that he may consider confessing his feelings to Kiyomi if they've both survived up till this point.
Kiyomi's eyes lit up upon reading this once last part and butterfly's began to flutter wildly in her stomach. She knows the right thing, after reading this, would be to wait til the war between the Titans and humanity is over before returning Armin's feelings, but excitement rushed through her body with so many other emotions such as happiness, and she couldn't help but to want to return Armin's feelings. And that's what she decided to do.
She doesn't want to have any regrets before dying. So she wants to at least make sure to return Armin's feels and to let him know that she feels the same.
Eventually the jogging was over and all the soldiers were free to do whatever they please now. Most soldier's made way to the closest Mess hall since they all were starving for dinner. Some even joked that they feared that they would turn into a Titan if they didn't eat anything soon.
Before making way to the Mess hall, Kiyomi's main goal was return Armin his diary and to tell him that she feels the same. But then again, she could just go to the mess hall since she knows he will be there since the two hadn't eaten dinner yet and they always eat together in the cafeteria.
But Kiyomi notices Armin in sight. She can see his back faced towards her. He was hunched down low, looking through his bag he had to lug around during jogging exercises, and she could see him clearly panicking. He must of realized that his notebook fell out during the jog.
"Armin!" Kiyomi calls out as she approached the blonde. He jolts his head upright, stands up, turns around to see the girl he secretly loves in front of him.
"K-Kiyomi." Armin greets in Surprise. But his eyes slowly scrolls down to see the notebook that Kiyomi held in her hands. It was the notebook. His diary. And the one that contained his secrete feelings for her.
Immediately his eyes shot out wide and his face gone heated red and he was clearly flustered. But he was hoping she hadn't read it's insides yet. Fat chance at that...
"O-Oh, I-I see you found my notebook. T-Thank you." Armin takes the notebook from Kiyomi's hands and tucks it back into his bag.
"A-And, um...you didn't read any of it....did you?"
"Well....I sorta read the part that....um, said you...erm...kinda like me?" Kiyomi couldn't keep herself from grinning really big as she said this. But she couldn't help but to feel a little nervous and slightly scared of what Armin's reaction might be.
Immediately upon hearing this, Armin's ocean eyes shootout and his jaw drops, and his hot read face turned even darker as sweat rolled down from his forehead.
"W-Wait...hold on...Y-You read that?!"
"Y-Yeaaah..." Kiyomi Lowers down her head a little while smiling shyly.
Armin seemed to be frozen or more like paralyzed at the thought of Kiyomi having actually read that. At this point, he really didn't know what to do or to say.
"Um...I'm sorry for reading your book without your permission. It sorta just dropped out of your bag in the middle of our jogging and I was sorta bored, and kinda wanted to read it. And um, I know you probably we're wanting me to know only once the Titans disappeared, but...I just want you to know that I feel the same."
"Y-You do...? R-Really?"
"Yeah!"
And with that Kiyomi decided to be brave and she stepped towards Armin and gave him a gentle kiss on the lips. Armin was taken aback, still shocked and surprised. It was a bit hard for all of this news to analyze into his brain. But once it did, he returned Kiyomi's kiss.
"I love you."
"I love you too, Armin."
The End
