Chapter 7

21:16, 25 June 2014

SAM POV

Bobby disappeared when Kylee went upstairs. I sat at the table drinking some of Bobby's Jack Daniels. I practically ruined Kylee's happiness... And made myself regret it.

"god, I'm turning into Dean..." I mumbled to myself.

I stayed at the table, and looked through news on my laptop. Nothing suspicious... Yet. Dick Roman's face was everywhere. It just seemed to be Dick everywhere. I chuckled at my joke... I am turning into Dean...

I clicked on a link for RRE. (Richard Roman Enterprises) I stayed scrolling through the information. After the falling of Frank Devaroux, we have had to do our own working.

"Those numbers I gave you, are a part of Dick's plan. There's information on Frank's hard drive, but..." Bobby's voice made me jump.

"But, what?"

"Levi's stole it." He said.

My laptop beeped. I opened the email.

"It's from... Frank." I read aloud , "Dear Sam and Dean,

If you've received this, I'm probably dead... Or much worse. My hard drive is missing. I have a tracking device in it." A number was place at the end of the email, "Get that hard drive back or we'll all be Leviathan happy meals."

"Put the tracking number in, ya' idjit!" Bobby urged.

I put it in google maps, "Let's see where this is."

I heard Dean yawn while the map was loading. He came to sit next to me. I filled him in on the problem.

"So... This thing is somewhere missing?" He replied groggily.

"Yup... And here it is." I zoomed in.

"Great. We found it!" Bobby's face lit up, "But, it's in the middle of the starship."

Bobby seemed to think for a few moments.

"Well, maybe we could ship my flask to his office and get him..." Bobby's thought wondered.

"No! Absolutely not. You know the problems!" Dean shouted.

"It's a good idea, and you know it." Bobby spoke back.

I intervened, "Bobby, Dean's right."

Bobby rolled his eyes... Then poof. He was gone.

____________

I started to think about Kylee's exit. A few hours passed, and I was in a few bottles of whiskey. Dean went back to researching, which really was useful. And surprising. I scrolled through the internet.

"Ready? We're going to go to Chicago. It's where the starship is." Dean brought me out of my haze, "But, before that... You need coffee."

I nodded.

"Where's Kylee?" Dean asked.

"Upstairs." I only spoke bluntly probably because I was drunk.

Dean nodded, and continued up the stairs.

KYLEE POV

I wiped the grogginess from my eyes. I guess I drifted off to sleep. My eyes felt alive because of my few hours of sleep. I noticed that I've been getting only one or two a day. Maybe I'm worried about my... Problem? Depressed? Stressed? And then, I started to think about this new found power... I could feel other people's emotions if I concentrated.

"Good morning, Kylee." A deep, monotone voice became clear.

"Hello, Angel boy. What's goin' on?" I asked nonchalantly, "Where'd you disappear to?"

"Angels died... All of them. Well, the group that- never mind." He stopped as a gave him a confused look, "Anyway, I have more information. Your weapon is a sword. It could destroy purgatory. But, demons want it, and the few angels alive crave the thing. As well as the other creatures, if they possess you, and find it, they will be able to keep their species from going to purgatory."

"What the hell is a purgatory?" I asked.

"It's where all the dead supernatural go." He explained blankly. He seemed so... Emotionless. It kept me thinking.

"So, it's like middle earth?" I asked.

"Yes."

With that, I heard flapping. Cas disappeared from my eyes. Well, then. That was a slightly awkward experience. I started with the weapon... I pretty much have to find it to keep myself alive. Or, in general, keep Purgatory sealed. Wonderful. It'll be a chore with these two knuckle heads.

"What the hell?" Someone exclaimed.

I turned around. Dean held his gun at me.

"Again? Seriously?!" I shouted, throwing my hands up.

"What the hell is Cas talking about? The weapon you're connected to." Dean kept his stance like I was a rabid animal.

"It's none of your business." I stated.

"But, of course it is." A British accent came from the corner of my room.

"Crowley." Dean growled.

"So, this is the infamous Crowley. King of Hell, right? I mean, you're not that menacing." The words flew from my mouth before I could stop it.

"You're funny, female moose," I didn't know whether to take that as an insult, or a compliment, "Now, let's get down to business."

"What business?" Dean glanced at both of us.

"Where's the sword." He stated... His voice didn't even crescendo as a question... Weird. Waves of black anger scurried from his body.

"I, surprisingly, have no idea. I'm kinda new at this whole thing, so.." I shrugged in a matter of fact way.

In a nano second, I was pinned at the wall with a nonexistent force. Crowley had me in the room with just him. Dean was pushed into the hall. I struggled against his force.

"Now, now. No lying, Kylee. Where is it?" Crowley patted another invisible force, "Or, little Buddy over here will have dinner."

I looked over, and saw an oversized Rottweiler sitting next to him. It had red eyes, and bloody claws.

"I don't even know what the damn thing looks like! Even the... Angels can't find it. I'm searching for it though." I replied, slightly shaking.

"Mmmm..." Crowley took another step forward. I fell from the wall, and Dean kicked the door in, "What the-"

"Demon trap." I smirked. I knew it would come in handy, "Now, either you and your hellhound go when I let you leave and never see me again, or I'll shove Dean's handy dandy demon knife between your eyes. What'll it be?"

"I'm the King Of Hell. You can't kill me." Crowley said menacingly.

"Watch me!" Dean handed me the knife.

"fine! Okay I'll leave." He said.

I scratched the demon trap from under the rug. With that, Crowley disappeared. Another pistol cocked, and I saw Dean's gun barrel.

"What the hell was he talking about?" He growled. Anger and fear painted Dean's aura.

I handed him the demon knife, and told him the story. Leaving bits and pieces out. Like the part about it keeping purgatory wide open if it falls into the wrong hands... Yeah, that should be pretty sufficient.

"So... What? You're staying in hiding until you find it?" He asked.

"No. I'm gonna find out where the sword is, find it, and keep it hidden. But, ya' know. I could just hand it over to Crowley." I spoke the last few words with angry sarcasm.

Dean lowered his weapon, "We'll talk about it later. Pack a bag. We're going to Chicago."

_______________

I drove in my car alone. We passed through Nebraska, almost to Iowa. It began to get light out. Dawn. The sun painted the sky and landscapes with yellows, oranges and reds. Not long after the sun came up, my eyes began to droop. I hadn't gotten any sleep in the last 15 hours of driving.

I honked at Dean, signaling to pull over. We were out in the middle of no where. Dean and I both got out of the driver's side.

"What now?" He asked.

"I'm almost falling asleep. Sammy, come drive, please?" I asked.

"Uh- yeah. Sure." Sam got out of the car, and walked to mine.

"Thanks." I said, patting him on the shoulder. I walked to the passenger side of my Impala, and sat down.

"That's what you needed? Why didn't you drink coffee? We stopped like two hours ago." Dean made his fish lipped face at me.

"Yeah. I did get Monster coffee things. I just didn't drink one because I haven't gotten sleep in 24 hours!" I sat back in my car.

He rolled his eyes, and went back to driving. Sammy started my car, and we sped behind Dean. My eyes stopped drooping, and I snapped open a can of Monster coffee.

"I thought you were sleeping?" Sam asked, keeping his eyes on the road.

"Yeah, no. I just didn't want to drive alone... And I almost did fall asleep at the wheel." I winked, "Besides. I need to talk to you about something. Castiel told me not to tell you guys about it, but it kinda slipped from Crowley to Dean, and I thought you should know."

Instead of leaving out bits and pieces, I told Sam the whole story. Hell, I trusted him more than I trusted Dean. It took maybe ten minutes for me to tell the whole story, but Sam didn't seem fazed. It was like he knew.

"Wait, Cas is alive? I mean, out of the insane asylum?" Sam asked. Seriously?! I tell you this whole story , and that's what you ask?!

"Uh... I didn't know he was even there? But, yeah... He's pretty... Awkward for an angel. But, you're not gonna shoot now, ask questions later like your bro, are you?" I was curious.

"I'm not going to kill you. I'm not Dean. But, we can figure things out."

"Don't tell Dean about the purgatory thing. I didn't tell him that part." I mumbled.

"Uh- okay."

We drove in silence for a few more minutes. I finished off the caffeinated drink, and plugged in my iPod. "All Alone" by Fun. played through the speakers. I turned it up a little, and began singing along.

"I gave her to you, I thought you might appreciate the way that she dances. The painted look upon her face." I sang to myself.

"You are a terrible singer." Sam chuckled.

I looked at him, "Like you could do any better."

He chuckled. Our chuckles soon became laughing fits. Tears from not being able to breathe came to my eyes.

"You Give Love a Bad Name" by Bon Jovi played.

"SHOT THROUGH THE HEART! AND YOU'RE TO BLAME! Darlin' you give love, a bad name!" Both of us shouted.

"An angels smile, is what you sell. You promise heaven, and you put me through hell!" I sang and did a little dance where I tapped my foot, and pointed to Sam like they did in the music video.

Sam's laughter only became louder and harder the more we messed around. I leaned against the window of my car, and began to drift off.

____________

SAM POV

Within a few minutes of the Bon Jovi song ending, Kylee passed out. I turned down the radio while more music played. I'm surprised she wanted me to drive with her. I guess she was playing 'keep away from Dean. ' I should be in Dean's boat. Everyone I've either slept with, or had any sort of relations with, has been brutally murdered. Not that I have anything for Kylee, but...

Within the next few hours or so, Dean pulled up into a motel in Illinois. We were all tired, and ready to fall asleep in a bed.

I didn't bother waking Kylee. I just shut the car off, walked over to her side, and carried her bridal style. Dean brought us our key, and unlocked the door.

"I got the floor." I whispered.

Setting Kylee on one of the beds, I walked into the kitchenette. Dean brought beer, so I cracked one open. With the whole Leviathan thing, everyone's under a lot of stress.

"So , how are we getting to RRE? I mean... There is someone breaking into Frank's hard drive." Dean sat at the mini table.

"Well, we can track the person's computer and find out where the hard drive ended up." I said .

"Nerd."

I rolled my eyes, "Bed might be a good idea. We need our four hours."

Dean let out a humorless chuckle, and I went to the floor.

"Sam, get off the floor. I already got my six hours. Take the damn bed." Kylee's voice was in the kitchen.

"Keep sleepin-"

"Just do it before I make you." She cut me off. God, I love her voice, "Thanks."

"Did I-"

"Yes." She dead panned.

I followed orders, and fell asleep in the bed.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

A/N: THEY KNOW! How well is Dean taking this?

Dean: Not very well! Goddammit.

Me: *falls off of bed* How did you-

Dean: *shows lock picking kit*

Me: oh... What do you want with me?

Dean: WHY THE AWKWARD LOVE THING GOING ON BEHIND MY BACK?!

Me: chill out. You'll find out... Maybe..
