" Chapter 24 - I Won't Leave You "

Athanasia's Perspective:

"Kiel?!" I called.

I'm such an idiot!!! Why did I ran towards nowhere, when I could ran towards the finish line?!

I still called for Kiel, hoping for him to answer but no. I'm full of sweat right now for running faster. My clothes are now dirty. And.. now it's raining... What a great night.

I still continued to walk everywhere hoping that I can find the camp. I'm tired, and I'm wet because of this stupid rain!!

"KIELL!!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. I've had it!! I want to go back!!!

"Ack!!" I suddenly slipped and rolled down to a steep hill. Now I'm covered in mud!! And the worst part is I hit my ankle on a rock as I land on a hard ground. I screamed in pain.

It hurts soooo bad!!

I staggered towards a near tree, trying to take shelter. I trembled like crazy from the coldness. I can't go up, my ankle is really injured from the fall.

Please someone find me!!

Then a voice suddenly rang in my head.

'Dad! Let's go!!'

'Go! Athanasia escape from here!'

I heard dad's voice. Why did I heard his voice?!

'Dad! I won't leave you!!'

My head starts to hurt... it's the dreams again! But I'm not sleeping?

'Lucas! Protect Athanasia for me.'

Dad died when the ceiling crashed onto him.... I-I cried so hard that I cannot stop the tears flowing down on my cheeks...

"Who's there?!" I just heard someone talking... more like narrating...

I look around but there's no one.

The ceiling crashed onto him, and here I was.... paralyzed... I don't know what to do right now..

We ran out from the Garnett Palace heading towards the Emerald Palace.

'Lucas!! Let me go!!! Dad... I have to save Dad!!'

But Lucas didn't listen to me and continued to ran heading towards the entrance of the palace. I wish that we didn't go in the palace..

What's up with this?! It's my voice but it's not me who's talking...

When we got in... I saw blood everywhere... All the maids including Hannah and Cess were lying on the floor... dead...

'Hannah!! Cess!!'

I ran up to them, shaking their bodies but as I touched them, I felt deep cuts on their backs. My hands is full of blood...

Lucas immediately dragged me outside as he saw the rebels coming in.

'No!!! Lucas!! Lily?! Where's Lily?!'

I still struggled but I don't want to let go... I don't want to get separated from Lucas. We ran everywhere finding the exit.

Felix.... Also died, trying to protect me...

No.. I don't want to hear it...

Hundreds of arrows stuck on his back..

No..

'Y-your majesty...'  He tried to reach me.. but another arrow shot through his head, splashing half of my face with blood.

STOP IT!! I clawed my hair and covered my ears.. I want to scream but I can't...

I screamed in pain as I saw Felix collapsing on the ground.

'FELIX!! FELIX NO!!' I reached up to him but Lucas dragged me away, avoiding the arrows.

What's the point of surviving if I don't have anyone...

Just leave me here...

Then I saw Lily... With a rebel... Cutting her head off...

I want to die.... Seeing someone I love die... It's too cruel... Life is just too cruel..

'Lucas... Let me go...' I mumbled.

'I don't want to..' He answered immediately.

'I want to die... I lost everyone...' I sniffled.

He just remained silent, still running.

'I SAID LET ME GO!!' I shook my hand off his. We stopped then he looked at me.

'Just let me die!!! I don't have anyone anymore!!! I don't...' I look down not looking at him in the eye.

He suddenly grabbed my shoulders. 'Don't say such things!!! I'm still here!!'

I just stared at him. 'Lucas.. I--'

'I won't let you go!! I don't want to lose you!!'

Ah...

'There they are!!!'

'I'm gonna take you out off here... Out of this world...'

I remember...

"No! Lucas!!" I called for my beloved as I faced the portal in front.

"Go! I'll come after!!" Lucas yelled, covering me from the bandits, running towards them.

Liar..

"No, I don't want to!!"

He held my hand, kissing it so tenderly. "There's no time, I'll follow you..."

You ugly liar..

I was about to protest, until I saw tear in his beautiful ruby eyes, showing all his worries for me.

I let out a sigh, a tear escaped from my eyes."You'll come back, right? Promise me..."

He nodded and smiled at me, kissing my hand again. "I promise..."

Then where are you?

We pulled into a passionate kiss before pushing me inside the portal.

'Where are they!!!'

'Don't slack off!! Find them!!'

'Please be safe....'

He let go of my hand and said, 'I love you...'

He promised me that he will be back, but.. where is he..? where are you now?!

I came back to reality... crying nonstop... I hugged myself, clenching my shoulders...

They all died... everyone died... Lucas died...

I screamed in pain, remembering the past that I wished to forget. My voice went hoarse from crying loudly but I did not stop.

"You liar!! You promised!!" I screamed and screamed until I lost my voice.

"SIA!!" I heard a voice, a voice that I want to hear.

"SIA!!"

"Luc...as..." I sniffled.

I want to call back but my voice. No! I'll try..

"Lu--" I coughed, my throat hurts.

"SIA!!" He still called, I can hear his voice cracking.

I stood up. "Ack!!" My ankle still hurts.

"Lu-- *cough, cough* cas!" I tried.

I staggered towards the tree beside me.

"Lucas!!" I called.

I saw someone up there... the raven head that I've missed for so long...

"Sia!!" He called again as soon he saw me. "Wait here!! I'm coming down!"

He slid down to the steep hill. He's covered in mud, and so wet from the rain.

I tried to call him but all I could utter is just cough.

"Sia!" He ran up to me.

I staggered towards him, not bothering my broken ankle. "Lu... cas."

I almost fell over, but Lucas caught me. "You idiot!! Why did you run off like that!!"

I want to speak but I can't... my voice is at my limit.

"I thought I lost you again.." He said, touching my cheeks.

Again? is he..

I saw tears running down his cheeks. "Don't leave me.." He said, trembling.

He came back..

"You.. you came back.." I stuttered, tears forming into my eyes again. "You've kept your promise.."

His eyes widened. "Wh-what?"

"Sia...? Are you... Really..?" He stuttered, not sure what to say.

I gaped at him, staring like I saw a ghost. I did not answer and just let my tears ran down my cheeks. "You really looked for me.."

"Do you really remember me?!" He exclaimed, confused about how to react.

"I-I remember..." I cried. "I remember.."

He let out a sad chuckle and suddenly cupped my cheek in his palm and leaned down to kiss me, I kissed him back. His kisses are very gentle at first and then, as if he's reaching for something more, he gently pushes me against the nearest tree and kisses me harder. His left hand is caressing my cheek, and his right hand is gripping me by the waist, pulling me against him. And then he pull away, slowly. We were out of breath, gasping for air.

"I miss you.." He whispered as he kissed my forehead.

"I miss you too," I muttered, holding on his shoulders.
