A New Beginning

The day finally arrived. Charlotte's birthday was approaching, and Lucy was feeling a mix of emotions. As she neared the end of her pregnancy, she felt the weight of everything—the wedding that was still on the horizon, the baby, her life with Tim—but there was something about it that made her excited. She wasn't sure what the future held, but she knew it was going to be beautiful.

One evening, after a long day, Tim took her hand and led her outside onto their patio, where the view of the city lit up the night sky.

"I was thinking," Tim said, his voice soft, "maybe we should take a little trip after the wedding. Just the two of us. A honeymoon, but in our own way. No rush, just... something for us."

Lucy smiled, her heart full. "I love that idea."

Tim squeezed her hand gently. "I can't wait to start our life together. I know we've been through a lot, but I wouldn't change any of it. You and Charlotte are my world."

Tears welled up in Lucy's eyes as she rested her head on his shoulder. "I feel the same way. Whatever comes next, I know we can handle it. Together."

They stood there for a while, letting the night air surround them. Lucy's pregnancy was drawing to a close, and while they still had many things to work through—like the wedding and preparing for the baby's arrival—she felt at peace. The future was unknown, but it felt right, and for the first time in a long time, she knew everything was going to fall into place.
