Someday, I'll be livin' in a big, ole cityAnd all you're ever gonna be is meanSomeday, I'll be big enough so you can't hit meAnd all you're ever gonna be is meanWhy you gotta be so mean?

Amerie sat in music class, her homework was due. She wasn't proud of the piece, she hated it in fact, but she handed it in anyways.

Miss Robbins looked over her music sheet and sighed.

"Amerie I have seen you write better lyrics then this, this is barely even a song" Miss Robbins tutted, "You need to do better" She said handing back the paper to Amerie.

"Sorry Miss Robbins" Amerie nodded accepting back her paper and staring at the large F.

"Amerie" Piper whispered

"Yeah" Amerie nodded

"Don't listen to Miss Robbins, it's probably better than I could ever do. She's strict sometimes, but I promise she cares" Piper reassured Amerie

"Thank you, that means a lot" Amerie smiled

"Class settle down!" Miss Robbins yelled annoyingly, instantly the class was silent.

Amerie felt like crying, she didn't like this Miss Robbins one bit, she was nice her first few lessons but how come she was so rude now?

Minutes passed by, Amerie didn't feel like playing, her confidence was low.

The bell rang everyone rushed out, but Amerie was stopped.

"Amerie can we speak" Miss Robbins said

"Yeah" Amerie nodded anxiously.

"I shouldn't have been so harsh, if you are struggling with the homework you can come speak to me, I understand you write more about your experiences, but being a good song writer you have to write from so many other perspectives and experiences, not just your own. There's a teacher-parent conference day soon, I hope for you and your mother to attend so we can speak about how I can support you in my class. The grade I gave you means nothing, it just means you failed the basic task I set, work on it for next time. I'll see you tomorrow Amerie" Miss Robbins spoke kindly

Amerie nodded and left her teachers room, both Piper and Julia were outside waiting for her.

"Are you okay?" Julia asked

"I'm good" Amerie nodded

"Also we got told to tell you that your mom is waiting for you in the office" Piper said

"Thank you" Amerie said

She was confused on why her Mom was picking her up early but she made her way to the office anyways.

"Hey sweetie" Taylor greeted

"Hey" Amerie smiled

"I came to pick you up early, I have something going on and I just need you at home" Taylor said

"Is everything okay Mom?" Amerie asked

"You don't need to worry, I just needed to pick you up early" Taylor said walking out to the car with Amerie

"Okay, it's nothing bad right?" Amerie asked

"No, just have an interview" Taylor said

"Okay" Amerie nodded sitting in the back left seat, the seat she always sat in.

Amerie sat in her bedroom, her mom had interviewers around the house, something she hadn't done in a while.

Amerie vaguely remembered when vogue did a 73 question interview with her mom.She was little when that happened, she remembered the man wanting to ask her a question, but she refused. Her mother also not fond on that as she didn't want to expose her online at such a young age, sure people knew Taylor had a daughter, knew her name, knew of her, but people rarely got pictures of her or heard from her daughter.

"What's in here" Amerie heard the interviewer speak outside her door.

"That's my daughters room" Taylor smiled

The interviewer opened the door, before Taylor could stop him he stepped inside, Amerie was stood in front of the mirror, examining her body.

"Erm.." Amerie mumbled looking at the cameras and diving back onto her bed.

Taylor rushed the interviewer and camera man out of Amerie's room.

"I think we are done for today, please cut that part out with Amerie in" Taylor said

"But Miss Swift, we haven't finished" The interviewer protested

"Well I am finished, and honestly I'm concerned about my daughter more then finishing this interview, Amerie comes first, please leave" Taylor said walking them to the front door

"Thank you Miss Swift" The interviewer thanked

"Yeah" Taylor sighed, closing the door taking a a deep breath and holding her head in her hands.

This couldn't be happening, she didn't want Amerie falling down the same path as she did.

"Amerie" Taylor knocked

"Come in" Amerie said

"Hey, you wanna tell me what's going through your beautiful brain" Taylor said sitting down next to Amerie on her bed

"It's nothing really" Amerie shrugged

"It's something.. Amerie I'm not dumb I've had insecurities my whole life, I started feeling insecure around your age. You're growing up, your body is changing becoming more mature. That doesn't mean anything, well it means you're becoming a young woman, a very beautiful one." Taylor reassured

"It's just something I saw online" Amerie shrugged

"Amerie what did you see?" Taylor asked worried

Amerie handed her mom her phone, opened to a comment.

"Amerie looks pregnant"

"Has Amerie gained weight"

"Congratulations on your pregnancy"

"AMERIE WAS PREGNANT" - Rileyjames09

Those comments stood out, but Riley's stood out more. Bold capitals, leaking the fact Amerie was pregnant, well she wasn't, but she could have been.

"Amerie... those comments are disgusting. I'm going to call Tree. What Riley said, you need to make a statement explaining that you are not pregnant, I can help you with what to write, for now I'm going to call Tree. I'm going to make you something to eat and you're going to eat it all because I'm not letting you slip into bad habits" Taylor said

"Thank you mom" Amerie nodded

"Always" Taylor smiled, deep down she was worried.

Amerie didn't deserve it, she was 16. A 16 year old shouldn't be shamed online for their body, nobody should.
