➤ 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐛𝐲 𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐣𝐢𝐦𝐚 𝐰𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐢

𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐩

It's been a some years now and you are now a certified physiotherapist. You work with Ushijima's team and now since your lovely boyfriend is on the National team you are also the physiotherapist/health manager for that team along side Iwaizumi. It was really great being the manager for the teams, meeting a lot of people you didn't know and reconnecting with people you did know. Of course you and Kiyoko are still the bestest friends in the world. Always getting sports goods from their store. You would never forget the day when she told you she was dating Tanaka. It was definitely a surprise, but not super crazy and you were happy for Tanaka. He finally got the girl he dreamed of. 

You and Ushijima have been going great, you have been together for close to 6 years now and you couldn't be happier, of course a ring would make you happier, but you were both still young and being with your boyfriend was enough for you. 

It was the finals of the world league games. The team was doing great. It was the fourth set, if the boys win this one they win the whole series, if they don't they fight for the gold in the fifth set. It was a tough game, the boys putting there all into this game. Kageyama was popping off with his sets and Ushijima was getting good kills. Of course the other team was putting up a fight as well, this teams blocks were crazy good and made you want to bite your nails. Every time Ushijima went to hit and you saw the block go up you were nervous that he would get blocked and he did sometimes, but you always cheered him on no matter what. It was now his turn to serve. It was 23-24 in with Japan in the lead. You crossed your fingers hoping the serve would ace. 

"Give us an ace toshi!" You yelled from the side lines causing the 6'3 opposite hitter to look at you and give you a small smile before getting ready to serve. He tossed the ball up, jumped and perfectly hit the ball. It was all in slow motion you watched as the ball soared over the net and landing close centimetres to being out. You looked at the flags people calling it out then the ref calling it out, but you knew this ball was in. 

"Coach challenge the call!" you yell from where you are causing the players in the players box to look at you with some hope.

"It was out l/n," Iwaizumi said from his position beside the coach.

"Challenge the call!" you yelled once again. The coach reluctantly challenging the call. The replay was played on the big screen showing that the ball was in the court. The whole team cheered once they learnt that they had just won. You ran and hugged Ushijima.

"You did it!" you cheered before you gave the sweaty giant a kiss on the cheek.

"We did it," he replied. Then the coach came up to you with Iwaizumi in tow.

"l/n, how did you know that ball was in," the coach asked causing Ushijima to give you a questioned look. 

"Well I saw it, it was obviously in. I also just knew that it was in." you replied.

"Well thanks to your sharp eye we won," he said proudly before making his way to the team.

"You made the coach get that point challenged?" the man holding your waist asked.

"Yea, I knew it was in. I've watched your serve for years now Wakatoshi and I know what your serve looks like when it's gonna go out or hit the net, and it didn't look like that. And I also saw it hit the edge of the line," you replied 

"You're the best,"

"I know," you smile "now go talk to your teammates," with that he gives you a slight nod before making his way over to his teammates. Not long after he gets called to talk for one of those sports news people, right before he goes you see him grabbing something from Iwaizumi, but you pay no mind you just go and talk to the team.

"Hey y/n you should go watch how awkward Ushijima is being at the news thing," Iwaizumi says to you.

"Uh okay," you reply as you make your way to be standing in ear shot of Ushijima and the reporter, and the team was standing behind you as well weirdly.

"So Ushijima-san what is the key to your success today?" The reporter asks Ushijima. He thinks about his answer for a second before speaking.

"The key to my success hmm," he starts. "It's probably going on morning jogs, they keep my endurance up," he replies dryly causing you and the rest of the team to laugh and the reporter to sweat drop.

"Is that all Ushijima-san?" he questions

"Ah you didn't let me finish. The other key to my success it the person I go on the morning jogs with," he says causing you to become a little pink in the cheeks and some of the boys behind you to give you little nudges "They keep me in check and always encourage me to work my hardest and do my best. Even today they were the one to call that last serve in, to get the call challenged... Do you think I can get them to come here before I finish?" 

"Of course," The reporter says. With that the 6'3 player waves you over and you shake your head saying you don't want to, but the boys behind you push you over to the camera.

"This is my beautiful girlfriend y/n l/n. She is also our physiotherapist for the team. She has been with me since my third year in high school, she was even my jogging buddy back then. Although she wasn't my manager and was a manager for an opposing team back then she always had my back and always helped me. Always by my side cheering me on and giving me the extra confidence to go further in my volleyball career. She has been the reason to all my success, and I would love to have her to keep being the reason to all my success," he says looking at you while he sinks down to one knee. This action making you cover your mouth in shock and small tears to collect in the corner of your eyes. You could also faintly hear the crowd behind you go wild. "y/n l/n you have been with me for 6 years and those 6 years you were in my life made me the happiest I have ever been. From the moment I saw you at 5 am that day I knew that I had to have you in my life forever. Now" he opens a small box showing a gorgeous green ring that matched his birthstone and his hair colour. "Now I'm asking if you would be so kind and be in my life forever. My jogging buddy, my physio, my beach volleyball partner, my fiancé, my future wife, my love. Will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?" He finally asks tears collecting in his eyes. The whole stadium was silent waiting for your answer. When you finally get over the initial shock and answer.

"Yes Toshi, yes!" You exclaim as you threw yourself to the man on one knee. The whole stadium erupting with cheers as the both of you share a loving kiss. Once you pull away Ushijima grabs the ring and slides it onto your finger as you both stand up. 

"Well here it is folks the key to success by Ushijima Wakatoshi! Happy couple I hope you well!" The reporter concludes before the camera shuts off. 

The whole team runs over to the both of you cheering and hugging the both of you chanting "mom" and "dad" Once everything calms down Ushijima quickly goes to get changed. The team decided on having a celebratory dinner for the win and the new engaged the next day since all of you were dead tired. 

You waited outside the stadium for your fiancé, once he finally walked out you couldn't stop yourself from running to him and giving him the biggest hug. 

"I love you so much, fiancé," you say into his chest.

"I love you too so much, fiancé," he says before you punch in him in the shoulder.

"Ouch babe what was that for?"

"That's for springing that shit on me on live television. And in front of a mostly packed gymnasium! I cried in front of everyone in the whole world!" you exclaim. 

"Would you rather me not have proposed?" he says with a little chuckle before taking your hand and walking to your car.

"Well no, I just, I don't know I cried." you huffed knowing you couldn't win.

"But you liked it, I put a lot of effort into organizing that, and I also had to win for it to be even better," he admits.

"Wait, you planned it?"

"Well of course I did,"

"Thank you Toshi, I absolutely love it," You say hugging him in front of your car.

"Of course sweetheart, and thank you for not turning me down in front of the whole world,"

"On second thought, that would've been funny, I should've done that instead."

"Babe!"
