Chapter twenty nine: The one and only

Here I was in Los Angeles with my daughter who was star struck by all the hustle and bustle. We were going to see Evan at a convention; I had paid extra for a meet and greet ticket. Julie luckily kept my appearance hidden from Evan so it would come as a complete shock. That was if he even recognised me.

I did decide on wearing my pretty sequin black dress I had bought specifically for today and Ember had pig tails and black bows to match. She had on a maroon coloured jumper and some black leggings.

"Will daddy be happy?" Ember asked with an eyebrow raised in which I crouched in-front of her and kissed her on the cheek.

"He will be so happy. But remember what I told you? Daddy doesn't know about you yet so he may be surprised"

Thankfully for a six year old she took in mature information and for that I was very appreciative. The way I brought her up was to never lie; I would always be very honest at the time she could understand things more efficiently.

We sat down at our seats in the rows of guests where Evan and the crew from American horror story were about to arrive. I had booked seats near to the back so he wouldn't see us just yet; I didn't want to make him turn into a ghost mid convention.

"Hello everyone" Evan said nervously into the mic as he walked through. Nerves instantly consumed me and Ember was pulling at my dress in excitement. "Mommy that's daddy isn't it?"

Gulping I nodded shyly "yes.. that is your daddy"

"Thank you to everyone who decided to come. The support has been immense" He said with starry eyes. "Jesus.. there is so many of you" his comment made everyone laugh.

Taissa was sat next to him and she gave the biggest smile too, they all looked so happy. "It's a pleasure to be here with you all today"

"Now I suppose we just.. answer some questions ?" Jessica joked with a hearty laugh which made the crowd shout "yes!"

"First question which I know was coming, I'll pass this to Evan" Jessica said as she read a slip of paper.

Evan raised his eyebrows and read the question in which he began to laugh to himself. "Are.. Evan and Taissa for real"

The crowd began to clap their hands and shout "please be true!" Which instantly made me cringe. Sure; I loved their chemistry whilst watching it but surely they would of seen that he is dating Emma.

"Sorry everyone but I am not with Taissa. But Tate and Violet will always be number one" he joked with a grin

"Mummy do we finally get to meet him now" Ember whined as we stood up from our seats and went to queue up for the meet and greet.

"Yes sweetie, stop being so impatient" I whined back in the same tone which made us share a look of bemusement. Truthfully I expected much worse from a six year old at a convention that she didn't understand, so I was proud to say the least.

My belly was doing flips as we neared the front, Ember began holding the poster tightly with her hand and I could see how nervous she was. "It's okay.. it's going to be okay" I whispered in her ear which made her little body soften.

"Who would you like me to address this to?" Taissa asked politely as Ember handed her the poster which was now slightly crinkled.

"Ah-E-Ember and Mo-mmy" Ember said nervously which made me pout my lips in adoration.

"For Ember and Maeve" I whispered back which made Taissa nod her head. "She is such a cutie pie"

I looked down at her and nodded "she sure is"

Taissa tilted her head slightly "you know, she looks like Evan a fair bit. Could be my eyesight"

I swallowed "weird coincidence"

Taissa then passed the poster on to Jessica who gave us a wide smile "aww Ember don't you look the sweetest. Though I couldn't imagine a little girl your age watching American horror story" she chuckled

I nodded "yeah, too young but she is here for mommy" I stated with a smile that made Jessica nod her head in approval.

"When you're older you will want to come see us on your own accord. You'll love it" Jessica said to Ember which made her eyes light up.

Ember nodded "I will! I can't wait"

Next up was Evan and I couldn't slow down my heart rate no matter what I tried. I could tell Ember caught onto this as she squeezed my hand tighter.

"So.. this is for Ember and Maeve" Evan said as he looked at the poster. "I knew someone with the name Maeve, it's a pretty name-

He then looked up and instantly he paled in colour which made guilt wash over me. "Jesus, Maeve. Is that really you!?"

I pursed my lips and nodded "it's the one and only"

Evan didn't know how to react and he just sat there in complete astonishment which I could understand. "What brings you here?"

I smiled briefly "I just wanted to see how you was doing. I don't want to interfere with anything but I would love if you could have dinner with me and Ember tomorrow ?" I then slipped him a piece of paper with my new number on.

Evan swallowed and looked towards Ember almost sombrely "y-you have a daughter ?"

"I do indeed. She will be seven soon. They grow up so quickly" I said with a nervous breath.

"You're amazing. Mommy tells me all the time about you!" Ember said with the most enthusiastic tone of voice in the world.

Evan raised an eyebrow up and I could tell he was trying to work something out in his head but before he could say much more he was asked to move us along. Quickly he signed the poster "I'll see you tomorrow"

"Thank you.. text me please I've come a long way" I whisper yelled as we got passed to Dylan to sign the poster next.
