Chapter 18 | Expression

- KYOKO POV -

Squinting, I raised up my hand up slightly to block the bright light from the sun; it's rays shining themselves down on me and everything around. Walking, the sudden sound of rustling alarmed me, causing me to turn in the direction of the noise.

Emerging from the bushes behind me, Jaken flailed his two headed staff in the air, speaking loudly. " Priestess! Where is Lord Sesshomaru?!"

Turning fully to face him I spoke raising my brow in surprise that he had asked me. " I think I might know. I'm headed there now myself, so I suppose you can just follow me."

Turning back, I walked back along the dirt path, till I got to the lines of trees now shading and blocking the sun from hitting me from above.

Striding, me and Jaken both kept silent. Jaken didn't know where Sesshomaru was last night ... did he? Thinking, the bare image of Sesshomaru appeared in my mind. Still walking I rubbed my temple. I need to stop thinking about last night!

Moving my eyes up, I looked ahead. We had arrived. Coming to the clearing, the Cherry Blossom trees moved along with the breeze of the wind. With each gust, small petals flew through the air.

Focusing, I spotted him in the mid center of the trees. Watching, Sesshomaru's silver hair blew along with the wind, beautifully and gracefully. How strange.

"Loooord Sesssshomaru!!" Jaken yelled, hurting my ears. Hastily sprinting forward, Jaken fell face first sliding down the small grass hill. As I watched him do so, I myself walked down it with ease. Perhaps it's his stubby legs that cause him to always fall over ...

Standing himself up, Jaken ran towards Sesshomaru in a haste, speaking in a screech like manner again. " Lord Sesshomaru, I humbly suggest that we depart from here!! I see no reason why we should linger here any longer Milord! We still need to find Tats -"

Before he could finish, Sesshomaru stepped on the small demon, pushing him into the ground. What did he stop him from saying? Who did they need to find? Letting his foot off of Jaken, Jaken positioned himself on the ground, bowing quickly.

"I apologize Milord!! I spoke out of turn!" Taking a peek up towards his lord he instantly dropped his head back down and apologized profusely, " Oh please don't be angry with me Lord Sesshomaru!, please don't be angry!"

He's angry? Looking towards Sesshomaru I noticed one of his brows were slightly down from their usual place. For some reason ... he does seem angry.

Turning towards Jaken, Sesshomaru spoke, his brow still down. " Jaken, where is A - Un?" Popping up from his spot on the ground, Jaken sprang up. " A-Un? I - I shall fetch him Milord!" Jaken said as he ran off in a frantic panic.

Watching as Jaken disappeared into the trees, I took a few steps forward from where I had assumed my place which was a distance away from Sesshomaru - but not as far as to where I could have not overheard their conversation.

Taking another few steps towards, I stood a ways next to Sesshomaru. Examining him, his brow had fallen back into its place, giving him that look he always wore. But now ... it's seems like he's thinking ...

Now a ways closer to him, I stood by his side watching the sky and the trees, the sound of the wind howling and pushing itself against us was cooling.

Glancing to my side, in the distance, I watched as the wind was moving a single Cherry blossom; the delicate thing about to fall of its branch. Walking towards it, I waited for the wind to pick up again and blow against it. When it finally did, the Cherry blossom finally fell. Catching it in my hands, I held it carefully as not to damage it.

Thinking about what to do with it - an idea came up in my mind. Trying to a small grin, I remained posed.

Going up to Sesshomaru, he slowly glanced at me, then adverted his gaze. Lifting up the Cherry Blossom in my hand, I was now closer to Sesshomaru than we ever had been. Placing the Blossom behind his pointed ear, I could tell he seemed a bit startled - though he didn't show it on his face.

Putting myself in front of him, Sesshomaru held his eyes wide for only a moment - before reverting back to his usual face, only slanting his eyebrows down slightly like he had done earlier. I had annoyed him. I had made him upset. Good. It's not so nice is it?

Reaching out, I extended my hand forward grabbing the Cherry blossom that was behind his ear. Lifting it up, I carefully placed it behind my ear before speaking.

" It's not so nice when someone else is in your space, is it?"
