Chapter 15 | Perspective
22:18, 14 February 2025- THIRD PERSON POV -
- A Week Ago -
Arriving near the so called Murasaki mountain, Sesshomaru observed from above, hovering in the air.
Flying down, he landed near the shrine he had spotted from above. The light blue barrier that surrounded the shrine was indeed like the rumors. Walking now, he made his way along the dirt path that he assumed led to the shrine.
Arriving, he looked upon the barrier in distain. He couldn't simply break it down. Furrowing his eyebrows slightly, Sesshomaru's senses sensed demons lurking near as if they were waiting to pounce - in hopes of somehow getting past the barrier . If it went down it would be a sprawl.
Frowning - cursing his overthinking - Sesshomaru then heard a feminine voice.
"Leave Demon! This is your only warning!"
Looking up, he saw the rumored woman that guarded the Muranaga sword.
Waiting for a moment he examined the priestess from afar. The woman before him held herself up straight - holding a bow towards him, glaring. She harbored otherworldly hazel eyes and black hair that was pulled back loosely.
She was pretty to an extent- Sesshomaru thought. But he had no need to think such things. She was a human. A priestess. Blocking the momentary thought out his mind, he refocused his thoughts to his objective - He desired the sword.
Walking up the steps in front of him, Sesshomaru spoke. " I am here to claim the Muranaga, leave priestess."
In truth, Sesshomaru did not want to kill the priestess - she was the one supporting the barrier. If it were to fall he would need to hurry to claim the Muranaga. - According to the swords lore, it chooses a wielder only once until they die and move onto the next.
- pulling back the arrow on her bow, the priestess remained glaring, unmoving from her place behind the barriers edge. " Not a chance demon."
Letting her arrow go, it flew towards Sesshomaru - missing. Shooting another arrow, Sesshomaru then flew up higher. Having flown up to avoid it, Sesshomaru reached for his sword. He then stopped sensing and smelling the putrid whiffs of demons coming closer. Many were coming. They knew if Sesshomaru were to try, he could surely bring down the barrier on his own. That would be the prefect time to get past him to claim the sword.
Suddenly, an arrow grazed the side of Sesshomaru's arm - barley. Looking down on her, Sesshomaru was surprised at priestess and himself - he cursed at his foolishness to allow that to happen.
As he did, Sesshomaru knew that the demons that were once in the distance were now close - too close. Flying higher, Sesshomaru watched as the demons began hitting themselves against the barrier.
Watching, his eyes focused on the sight before him. The priestess fought against them, killing them all in a wave of spiritual energy.
For a moment - as he watched her struggle - Sesshomaru let his thoughts consume him with the idea that the woman ... looked beautiful and ... pitiful.
Realizing his thoughts of sympathy, Sesshomaru buried them.
"Ridiculous"
~- Present Time -
The Priestess before him held a look of utter surprise and nervousness. She then proceeded to stumble back falling on her bum, blushing profusely.
The sight was somewhat humorous to Sesshomaru.
Standing up, she stood - her face turning redder with each slight movement.
Holding the back of her neck, the priestess calmed down, no longer harboring a smell of uneasiness. Making eye contact, she then spoke lifting her brows up as she did.
"I believe I have already told you, you cannot touch people without permission."
Ignoring her Sesshomaru walked past her, hearing her anger behind him. He himself had no clue to why he ... felt a smidge of sympathy for that Priestess - but he wasn't going to let those thoughts hold him back from reasoning.
For the reason the great dog demon stayed around that mountain was indeed for the sword, however he sought the appearance of another.
Tatsumori of the Panther Demon Tribe. He had heard rumors that he was gathering demons to rage battle to conquer back the west like the Panther King did.
According to some, Tatsumori had come here to claim a sword called the Muranaga. Now, Sesshomaru only needed one thing to continue his journey, to know wether or not Tatsumori was alive or not.
But ... for some reason - he could not ask the Priestess and felt that he needed to stay on that mountain.
- Walking past Jaken and A - Un, he made his way towards his spot by the Cherry Blossom Trees. He was in no rush, Tatsumori would return for the sword, and Sesshomaru had no need to track him down, for he knew he was near.
__________Authors Note - The Panther Demon Tribe arc is in Season 3 of Inuyasha BTW :)
