Chapter 21.1: Chunin Exams, The Invasion

Akali's POV

As soon as we arrived, we saw that Sasuke and Gaara already started fighting, Sasuke looking disturbed as he stared at Gaara's face which is half corrupted by Shukaku. My heart started hammering my chest as I stood behind the two, wary of the one tailed beast.

"Hm......no comments about that. Ah right. Pollux is with Shikamaru. I kinda miss his snarky remarks."

I swallowed the lump inside my throat and balled my fist. After this, I need to find a way in order to replenish my chakra within seconds. I can't be overdosed with chakra pills.

[That's what the gamer's body is for. You can't get addicted to alcohol, drugs, or anything else unless the plot needs you to be.]

"That's nice. Luckily I have loads of chakra pills."

And because Pollux taught me how to shoot bijudamas like spirit bombs, I've got nothing left to fear. I can protect myself with this.

When I came back to my senses, I saw Sakura already pinned to the tree with Gaara's sand, Sasuke panting with the curse seal out and Naruto talking to Gaara about having a reason to fight. Holy d*mn it's already been that long??

"Kacchan! Stay back and heal them! I'll fight him ttebayo."

Naruto growled and raised his arm to block us from Gaara's wrath. I sighed.

"Oi duck head. Can you move?"

Only a glare was sent my way as I slowly helped Sasuke from his position.

"It seems like you don't know what a ninja is all about!!! Forget your stupid friends and fight me with all you've got!!"

Gaara shouted along with a maniacal laugh that obviously aggravated Naruto.

"Shut up!!"

He shouted and rushed towards him with a kunai in hand. As he fell down fast because of gravity, Gaara still had the time to have a massive headache that made him slap his sand tail onto Naruto.

I groaned and raised my hitai-ate, making Sasuke sit on my lap and forcibly turning his attention to me.

~.......you'll be alright, no one can hurt you now. Come morning light, you and I'll be safe.....and....sound~

I sang that made a transparent shield encase Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura. I immediately closed my eyes and turned my head to Naruto.

"My healing won't last long. Don't worry about Sakura and Sasuke. I'll keep them safe. For now, focus on fighting Gaara. I'll support you from behind."

I stated that made Naruto look to me with gratitude clear in his eyes.

"You see it too right.......the sadness in his eyes."

Naruto nodded, now focusing his gaze on Gaara whom detached his hand from his arm, but still has Sakura in his grip.

"Go show him how you do it. I believe in you."

Seeing that my words encouraged him, he smiled with determination and wove hand signs for a summoning technique. I looked down on Sasuke who's still groaning in pain from beneath me.

"Oi get ahold of yourself. We still have a long way to go."

I said and opened my eyes again, continuing to hum as it slowly but surely drained my chakra. I have now amassed great respect for supports now.

"How.........did you do..that?"

"One of my skills. I can also hypnotize you to my bidding so don't let your guard down.....ah. Sakura is loosing consciousness....."

"Then stop healing us and hypnotize Gaara instead!"

Sasuke shouted with the last of his strength. I frowned at him.

"You don't understand. How could a human voice, much less an amateur's control a beast that lived longer than we do?"

I said and watched Naruto be blown away by one of Gaara's jutsus. Ah sh*t. I can't help him. He needs to learn how to fight alone. I can only do so much.

So I sang louder, catching Gaara's attention but healing all three of them at the same time.

"Get up and don't you dare loose yourself!!"

I roared as Gaara's glare turned to our direction.

"Ah this is bad. Hold on Uchiha."

I said and stood up, carrying him bridal style as I dodged Gaara's sand shuriken with my eyes closed. I felt Sasuke's grip on my nape tighter as I tried to loose Gaara off my tail.

"Two jutsus and that shield is down!! Use it wisely Naruto!!"

I shouted and entered stealth mode, leaping down the tree tops and onto the bushes that effectively lost Gaara's sight of us.

"L-let me..-"

"No. Don't worry. We'll go back up."

I said and climbed another tree yet again, miraculously seeing Naruto explode Gaara with a paper bomb. So when he was hurling towards us, I stuck out my leg to prevent his back from crashing on the tree.

"Oh Kacchan! Sasuke!"

"All of that.....but you just managed to land one move? Hn."

"Shut up ttebayo!!!"

"I guess that works too huh...."-Pakkun

"Did he do it?! Did he beat him?!!!!"-Gamakichi

As the smoke cleared up, I let Sasuke down and watched as Gaara glare mercilessly towards us.

"Naruto.......help Sakura and as soon as you do, get out of here. You can do that right??"

Naruto looked at Sasuke with shock on his face. Ah damn this bastards. Are they underestimating me? I'm still here though???????

"I've already lost so much.......and I can't stand if I loose another who's important to me."

"I......I get it. I understand that Gaara's like me....so I need to show him! I need to show him that he won't get stronger if he only fights for himself! So stay with Kacchan and let me do the rest! Kagebunshin no jutsu!"

He shouted as chakra flowed around him in a blue hue, making hundreds of clones in his wake. Sasuke's eyes are wide open as he questioned himself, is this the Naruto that he knew?

[And now you've become a narrator. Nice.]

"Oh shut up."

I smirked and watched as the Narutos lunged at Gaara with the full intent to defeat him. Nice story conclusion huh? If they only knew that their Hokage is dying on the other side of Konoha.

"Come on, give me your arm. Let's find a way to free Sakura."

I said and looked at Sasuke who stared at me with confusion.

"Why are you helping us......why are you helping......him?"

He asked as he slung his arm around me. I only smirked at him and supported his weight as we jumped from branch to branch.

"If I wanted to, I could easily defeat Gaara. But that isn't a fight I needed to win. Naruto needs to make it clear for someone like him that he's not the only one suffering the same thing as he did."

"Damn what a load of cr*p."

I said that made him lower his head.

"So you see. Naruto isn't just who you see in the surface, and that's why I help him. Who will save the savior if not?"

[I actually feel sorry for Naruto. And I'm a robot.]

"And why is that?"

[You don't actually care don't you? You're just backing away because you need to survive.]

The system said that made me stop to my tracks. I smiled solemnly. I mean, what the system said is true after all. So why do I feel so guilty for it?

"Maybe because he's innocent that I'm like this. I never killed someone who isn't guilty of a crime after all."

My sudden pause made Sasuke look at me worriedly, but I only returned his gaze with a smile.

"You're heavy. Ever think of cutting carbs? My shoulders are stiff now....."

"Hn."

A sudden explosion took away our attention as a looming shadow stood in front of us. And when the smoke cleared, the golden eyes of the one tailed beast in it's true form is staring down in anger.

"Summoning Jutsu!!"

Just as Shukaku's sand coffin completely swallowed Naruto, he managed to summon the red frog that saved his life in the last moment.

"Hey little frog! Bring this to Naruto and make him drink this quickly!!"

I shouted to the little orange frog as I reached out to it with two chakra pills in hand. It's the least I could do for now.

"I'm not a frog! I'm a toad!"

He complained but nonetheless took the pills from my hand and leaped towards Naruto and the bigger frog.

"Listen to him Pops!"

"Huh? Pops?"

"Wait, what are you doing here Gamakichi?"

"I'm bored so I went here to play! But you know, that monster over there tried to harm me, but this guy saved me so you gotta listen to what he says!"

"Is that so???"

The orange toad, Gamakichi smirked and gave Naruto the pills.

"That's from that white haired pretty girl down there. Can you imagine she called me a frog?"

Naruto sweatdropped and watched as the bigger toad revealed his katana and lunged at Shukaku and removed his left hand.

"Interesting!!! You keep on making me impressed Uzumaki Naruto!!!!!!!!"

Shukaku shouted and revealed Gaara's upper body on his head. Freaky.

I saw Temari flinch on my peripherals so I wasted no time and got between her, and her escapade.

"Ah ah ah. You're gonna stay and support your brother."

Temari glared at the sight of me and quickly raised her guard, her fan ready for any attack.

"I wouldn't try that if I were you. I'm not the one who's tired after all."

I smirked and snaked my right arm on Sasuke's waist to prevent him from falling because of pressure. Using my left hand, I made a bijudama that's about the size of a baseball. Temari and Sasuke's eyes widened.

"A ball of pure chakra......! Once that hits me I'll die for sure....."

"Now now don't give me that look. I only want you to try and save your brother, is all."

"No!! Once he's finished that jutsu all of us are going to die! So shut up and let me through!!!"

"Ah here goes nothing. For the sake of the plot."

"Hm. That so? I wonder what will happen if I hit him with this??"

I asked and played with the bijudama on my fingers. I pretended to slip, and threw away the ball of chakra a couple of miles away from us and watched as it caused a crater as big as the red toad.

"Oops. That slipped."

I said and grinned at her with my razor sharp teeth that made her tremble on her place. Sasuke's grip intensified.

"Now, be a good big sister and be there for your brother. Let's go save Sakura, Sasuke."

I said and offered him the sweetest smile I could muster.

"Too bad for the damage though. Can Pollux fix that?"

[His grace confirmed that he can, yes.]

"Nice. I don't want to pay for anything after all."

A pour of water suddenly interrupted us so I wasted no time and looked at Sakura.

"Hm, as I expected. Water can't directly remove the sand because it has chakra....."

"Damn it's like there's a typhoon here......."

"Kid.....I can't take any more hits!! You need to wake that kid up at any cost!!"

"But how can I do that dattebayo?!?!?!"

Naruto scrunched his face in deep thought before it brightened. He then looked at me and shouted:

"Hey Kacchan!!! If you have a song to make someone sleep, do you have something to wake him up?!?!?!?!"

"Holy sh*t I got dragged in."

I groaned and nodded.

"I'll try my best!!"

I shouted and groaned again. Now he's asking me to be his background music as he punches him awake? Seriously?

I sighed, heaving a big inhale of air and releasing it. I put chakra in my lungs and throat in hopes that it amplifies my voice, so as trial, I cleared my throat. It seems like they heared me so I wasted no time and sang the first song that came to my mind when I saw Gaara.

The red toad shouted as the both of them used a transformation jutsu, seeing that the toad can't grip on Shukaku properly.

Shouted Naruto but still continued to think of something that has sharp claws and teeth. I felt Sasuke's awe as what came out of the smoke was none other than Kurama's appearance, growling deep as if to taunt the sand racoon.

Sasuke uttered quietly as I continued with singing my godd*mned lungs off. I kinda need to hit him where it hurts so Naruto can get a clear opening. I need him to look at me.

I let go of Sasuke and pointed at the unconscious Sakura near us. It shouldn't be too far for him to be able to reach perfectly, and I still have to keep an eye on Temari.

I'm thinking that he got my signal because his aura was no longer on my side. Now I can fully focus on aiding Naruto.

[Warning, chakra depleting 100 cp per second. Do you wish to use chakra pills?]

"Yes."

[Understood. Chakra replenished.27/35 left.]

"I got him kid!!"

Shouted the red toad as he reverted back to his own appearance, Naruto jumping on top of the Ichibi just as he lost footing.

"Wake up you bastard!!!"

He growled and punched Gaara awake, the said boy groaning in pain after the blonde's action.

"Good. It's not that much long when he casted that jutsu. That punch should be able to shake him awake."

"Ah dang. My voice isn't getting through him at all. I'll get closer."

[Yup. Since you can't control Shukaku doesn't mean you can't affect Gaara.]

I nodded and stopped singing. Sasuke looked at me but I only shook my head.

"Watch Temari and Sakura. I'll try and help Naruto. Don't make any mistake."

I said and leapt from branch to branch as fast as I can.

"Ah shit he's using Kurama's chakra.......I'll just knock him out if it gets out of hand."

[Tatakae bitch.]

"Let's go you dumb racoon!!"

The blonde shouted and dashed at Gaara with all of his might. As the last line of defense, Gaara's sand restrained Naruto like tentacles that held back his limbs. That of course didn't stop his rampage as he used his head, literally, to take down Gaara.

"Ooh damn I missed it. Such a shame you can't watch till the end huh?"

The red toad looked at me, tiredness clear in his eyes as he smiled weakly.

"Ah pretty girl! Naruto is falling so you better go save him!"

"That, I will little toad. Ja."

I said and jumped back down in hopes to catch the two.

[Their gonna settle things between them now. Look look.]

The system said that made me look up on a tree, where the two lunged at each other. Ah can't these two see they're already so beat up? They're just killing themselves at this point. But I guess that is the point of this arc.

"Ah shit where did those two land? They should be finished talking to each other by the time I find them. I don't want to listen to mush stuff."

I thought to myself and took a deep breath, trying to find the stench of Naruto or Gaara's blood.

"The pain of being alone........it's the hardest isn't it?"

"......but if you hurt my friends anymore.....I won't hesitate to kill you....!"

"Why?! Why are you doing this for a bunch of strangers......?"

"Because....they're the ones who saved me.....from my demons."

I sighed. That's my cue. I need to heal them at least a little so that they can at least hold on to their consciousness.

"That's enough you two."

[And you just had to look cool huh?]

I said and got between them, taking their arms and slinging it on my shoulders.

"Kacchan........"

"You....."

I sang and as a shield encased the both of them, just as Sasuke arrived. He took Naruto from my arm, leaving me with Gaara who tensed when I looked at him, eyes wide open.

"Make sure you start to say sorry on your siblings after you wake up okay? They deserved that after a long time."

"But he............he will consume me in my sleep."

I frowned. Oh yeah Shukaku. Well, it works only in a jutsu and my barrier will protect him anyway. The poor kid needs a Gamer's Body.

I smiled at him.

"Don't worry. I'll do it just like before. I'll protect you with my voice."

[Charm successful.]

I ended the song with a soft hum as his darkened eyes gently closed shut, soft inaudible snores and his even breathing signifying that he's already deep asleep.

I carefully carried him and turned towards my left where Temari and Kankuro stood, the two shocked seeing their brother in a deep sleep.

"Here. Don't treat him like such a monster. He still has a human heart you know?"

I said and handed Gaara over to Kankuro. After a good look onto Sasuke and Naruto, they left in a flash.

"Hey system is San Salvador's cool down finished?"

[Hai. Consume 6 chakra pills?]

"Yeah sure."

I drank three first and summon the biggest San Salvador I could muster, then consumed the other three to keep my chakra on full.

"Come on you two. This will heal your injuries."

Sasuke hesitated, but nonetheless carried Naruto and boarded my ship. As soon as they entered, they were encased by the green light of San Salvador's healing. I maneuvered the wheel and by my command, the waves underneath San Salvador moved forward, taking us to where Sakura and Pakkun is. Sasuke help them get aboard and they too were healed by my beautiful ship.

[Ah the calm before the storm. They'll be sad about Hiruzen, that's for sure.]

"

Yeah, but for now I need to find my own team."

Was my thoughts as I steered the wheel. What if......did they.....die? Oh well. I shouldn't jump to-

"Drop Juichiro now!"

"Not until that girl shows up! She's been hogging all of the attention to herself doesn't she? I should be the main character!! Me!! ME ALONE!!!"

A player. I know that for sure now that I saw his title and level, along with the other two that is with him.

"San Salvador, lead them to safety. Stop at Pollux's location."

San Salvador hummed with a faint blue light as the team seven sailed away from me, now that I'm on the ground.

"Please calm yourself down. I don't want to fight."

"And what if I do huh?! The only way I can get what I want is by you buried six feet underground!!"

He said and pressed his kunai tighter on Juichiro's neck, enough to draw blood.

My mouth watered at the sight of his blood-

"Shit no!"

"You just gave me an excuse to kill you. Don't hurt him any further or I'll massacre you all!"

I don't know if it's tiredness, hunger or this weird craving for guts to fly in the air, but as soon as I saw Juichiro shedding a tear in pain, I almost went berserk.

"Try me bi-"

Third Person's POV

Not wasting any more second, Akali grabbed Juichiro from the player's grip and threw him onto his twin, the shining pools of blue crystal she calls her eyes tainted dark with insanity.

[Warning, sanity levels below 50%]

She ignored the tab and threw a kunai that hurled faster that a bullet toward an enemy. She then used that kunai like a stair that she stepped on, making that goon shout in pain and then shutting up afterwards seeing as she already slit his throat.

Akali isn't smiling at all. Unlike a psychopath who just lost sanity, she frowned as she cut down those who try to take her down, even if she did nothing to them.

"What the fuck are you staring at?! Go and outnumber her!!!"

The delirious player shouted as he commanded a couple of goons to try and tackle her, which they succeeded.

[Call and ambulance! But not for her.]

Her eyes darkened as the smug look on the unknown player's face returned, the said shithead grinning and spitting down on her.

"You're a worthless piece of trash that doesn't deserve to be with all of those beautiful waifus! They're mine! And when I create that harem of my dreams I'll be sure to fu-"

Akali winced in disgust. A hentai fan boy is reincarnated. Such an indecent being deserves to be given a second chance.

So without anything backing her up, she lunged forward, even though many men held her and bit his fucking head out.

You read that right. She bit and tore it off from his shoulders.

The other goons let go of her in fear that she would do the same to them.

"Go. Before I change my mind and kill you for EXP."

And with that, they scramed like ducklings away from her murderous gaze.

"Miela. Watch your sanity."

Shun who's about to go back to Suna with his team approached Akali's own.

[Lover's Leap on effect.]

The system said as both were slowly being healed by the passive skill. Akali looked at Juichiro that cries on Jhin's shoulder.

Before Akali falls over, Shun quickly got infront of her, making her chin support the entirety of her weight on his left shoulder.

"Huh? What happened?"

"I dunno. Chakra exhaustion?"

"But I....oh. My body is probably tired from all of that chakra pills. Oh well."

The white haired girl removed her chin from his shoulder, and with Shun's help, she approached the twins.

"Juichiro are you-"

"Don't.....don't talk to me."

Akali's eyebrows shot upward. What is up with him? Is it that bastard? What did he say to make Juichiro hate her? Was the thoughts on her mind but unbeknownst to her, she was portraying a face of sorrow and guilt.

She took a deep breath and nodded looking at Jhin who shrugged solemnly.

"How do you feel?"

Shun asked as he slowly lowered her to the floor.

"Nothing. Everyone treats me the same as he did back when we were still alive. I'm used to it."

Akali stated and lowered her hitai-ate to her eyes, blindfolded once again. Shun frown at his ex-fiance's attitude.

"I know that face Miela. I see it everyday so don't lie to me. I know it hurts."

Akali sighed.

"Even if it does, what's the use of wallowing in it?"

"I don't know. It's just an excuse to make one's self assured after all."

No one dared speak for a short period of time. It was rare for Akali to have this much quiet silence that isn't awkward since Shikamaru, and it only shows how deeply Shun knows about her to remember the things she enjoy.

"My point is, I still care for you even if we lost the love between us. So don't go beating yourself up over these kinds of things specially because I'm not always here to remind you of it. Okay?"

"Okaaaay. Now go you bastard. Your b*tches are killing me with their glares."

Shun chuckled and ruffled her hair for the last time before going back with his teammates. The invasion is finally over, but hardships only starts from here on out, specially if you're played with by a god named Deus Ex Machina.
