Chapter 12: Team 12

~2 years later~

Third Person's POV

"........wonder what it's like to be loved by you yeah! I wonder what it's like? I wonder how it's like to be loved by you?"

The white haired girl sang, flipping her wet hair and drying it with a white fluffy towel. What's got her in a happy mood you ask? Well, today is graduation day! Well, more like the day after. This day is the day that she'll be assigned to a team so she could finally get the action she needed! It's not like she wasn't fighting all the time, it's just that entering ID create and practicing her new S ranked jutsu was getting so repetitive that every muscle on her body moves on their own in a daily basis.

Oh and speaking of that S rank jutsu?

No matter how hard she practiced, no matter how long or how big the chakra reserve she gave, she can't make it look what it was supposed to look. The King said that San Salvador will come if the user was ready, but it seems like Akali still wasn't, since she can't get whatever San Salvador is, out. She only blows out a big wave of water and that's it.

She was starting to loose hope.

But since it was an S rank jutsu, she never gave up on doing it every single day for the past 2 years. The trees in Konoha was now thicker than ever, since every time she weaves San Salvador's hand signs, the three fourths of her 100 000 chakra was immediately consumed, making the wave bigger, and thus, watering almost the whole forests of Konoha. Almost.

The Hokage noticed it of course. Such an act of exerting so much chakra was threatening the security of the village so he made his top ANBUs to investigate it. When they found out that it was only Akali, they were relieved and slightly impressed. Having big chakra reserves for her age was already a wonder, and she excelled in every taijutsu test that was given to her since her entrance at the Academy, so it wasn't too long before the people of Konoha acknowledged her as a prodigy. Every time the parents came to watch their children's tests, they would also anticipate Akali's. And they were impressed every time they watched. She breezed through the exams like it was child's play, even excelling Sasuke that of course, made him hate her. His REP was a depressing -70, and speaking of Sasuke, Naruto also started to notice her.

For her, it was absolute hell to be noticed by Naruto, even if she dropped laying low for a long time already. Naruto would always drag her to fight him, to beat up Sasuke, to teach him the SNC, or just because his house was so dirty that he needed help cleaning it.

And yes, if you're thinking what I'm gonna say next,

They are neighbors.

Naruto lives on the apartment just beside her, so whenever he wants, he just barges inside Akali's house like they knew each other since they were born. It irritated the heavens out of Akali of course, but she didn't say anything. He wasn't bothering her, and she wasn't that heartless to treat him like how the whole village does. It hurts her non existent conscience for some reason.

So, her REP with Naruto is 40. Overwhelming for someone who doesn't want to be noticed, but then again, she dropped that plan a long time ago.

Akali's level is now 60, her pace was slow as a turtle. Only five levels in 2 whole years was a fucking hassle, (yes I can swear. I'm the author so shut up) the drops weren't doing the cut anymore and she rarely gets lucky pick scrolls! Like it only drops once a year! And she gets item builds rather than points so it was so rare to have a 100 point scroll!

It was like the Gods gave her a big nerf.

But it wasn't all bad, since almost every skill that she has in her arsenal was on max level. Jutsus and techniques not included of course. She thought things through and found multiple flaws on her way of leveling.

1. She doesn't have a CC skill or technique.

CC means crowd control, it's also called MEZ moves in other game terms, supposedly from the word "Mesmerize", it either stuns, charms, root, or paralyzes the enemy. In short, a move that can cancel movement or even prevents skill casting. She doesn't have that skill yet, only pure attack skills.

2. She doesn't have a Blink skill.

Blink is like a teleportation technique, any skill that can get you out of a sticky situation, but can be also used to chase enemies if necessary. She focused so much on damage to enemies that she forgot to give herself proper defense, so for the past year, she worked on endurance, stamina and still, chakra enlargement. But she also constantly put points on STR for attack power.

At her pace, she's slowly becoming a heavy tanker/fighter rather than a mage/assassin, but that was the point. She has to survive on her own, while dealing continous damage on the enemy. She became a jack of all trades kind of player, whilst Junko was taking the role of a heavy damage assassin.

Speaking of Junko.

For the past two years, she never missed a day to invite Akali in a Co.Op dungeon raid, so she also strengthen quite a lot. She's now on level 50, aquired some weird skills that suited her gambling nature. Just like her newest ultimate move, the Lucky 777. It's a roulette kind of skill that grants her different RANDOM buffs, and since her luck was over 500 now, the chances of her having a debuff or a buff that she doesn't want is lower than 10%. Then there's also the Dead or Alive coin, a skill which grants her +50% in every stat and a bonus intimidate, but only if she got heads, if she got tails, then all of her stats will have a -50%, the enemy will be granted +10% attack power, and she will be rooted in fear. Hardcore huh? But as I said, more than 500 points in luck. It's so rare for Junko to have a debuff just like how rare Akali gets skill points.

And it has come to the point where Akali was intimidated of Junko even though she was the one with a curse skill, and not her. Luck is scary, isn't it?

Oh and speaking of a debuff skill, Akali already mastered the art of singing. That made a skill called "Siren's Call" add to her skill list. Depending on the lyrics of the song, she can basically do everything at will. Hypnotize, deepen wounds or heal them, to make her enemies feel fear or hope, whatever she thinks and wants, as long as she has the proper lyrics for it. The skill is a passive, since it doesn't require hand signs, only fueling chakra through her diaphragm, tongue and eyes. Why eyes? Well, when she experimented on Naruto, only singing wasn't enough to control him. Probably because Kurama was warding off the chakra from her voice, so she thought, "I have to make him look at me straight in the eyes and follow my orders in order for my voice to reach his brain."

So she took herself literally and fueled chakra to her eyes. It surprisingly worked on him, and weirdly enough, she heard Kurama. Maybe it was only because he wanted to talk to her, but it was an op skill nonetheless.

"Ho? Weak. Weaker than the sharingan. It'll last no longer than a few seconds on S rank criminals."

Was what he said before removing the hypnosis on Naruto. It still worked, and it was her first MEZ skill, since there was a window that says "charmed" on top of Naruto before Kurama dispelled her hypnosis. So it still worked! But, with a price. She showed Naruto her eyes. He was amazed of course,

"Wow Kacchan! You have pretty cool eyes! And you have whiskers like mine too! Only they're under your eyes.....still cool tho dattebayo!"

And yes, somehow Deku possessed Naruto that instead of calling her Akali or Akali-chan, he was calling Kacchan. He said that Akali-chan was too long to pronounce, so with the "Ka" on aKAli, she was called Kacchan. It never ceases to make her cringe up to this day.

With that being said, Naruto always trained with Akali whenever she was practicing Siren's Call, since she can't hypnotize air. It was an unexpected turn of events, but she was guessing that she's probably on the plot now, but only having Tenten's screen time on his life.(And sad to say, Tenten only has so little screen time.😭😭)

There's still times when she just stops and thinks that her life will be fucked up with Naruto's villains, so her mentality has come to this;

If I don't want to be hunted by Naruto's villains, I just have to have a plot bigger than his so that I'll have my own, probably a lot less weaker villains!

And it was that time she knew she needed sleep.

All in all, she got stronger on her own. She can probably hold for a minute now in case she fights one of the Akatsuki, and probably 30 seconds in front of Pein.

Akali sighed at her own thoughts and put on her very first actual ninja outfit. Since she won't be changing this design anytime soon, she might as well go all out. (And since I won't change her outfit until before chunnin exams. Hehe.)

The jacket and the choker are actually item builds that increases VIT, and if you're asking how a choker protect a person, the I give you one answer, game logic.

It wasn't really flashy like a battle kimono or something, but it was baggy enough for her to move freely and not be restricted by any fabric. This time, she left her hair down and wore a long black ninja headband on her eyes instead of the normal blindfold, so that it'll just go on her forehead when she needs to reveal her eyes. The rest of the fabric blended with her hair that now reached her slightly below her knees.

"I really need a trim. It'll be bad if my hair gets in the way of a fight."

She thought, combing her hair with her fingers, slipping on her ninja sandals before leaving her apartment. She relied on muscle memory to take her to the Academy, only Takoyaki occupying her mind.

Once she got inside, she slid the door open and plopped in her seat next to Choji, whom as always, is eating chips.

"Hey 'Kali. Congratulations on passing the exam."

"Mhm. You too."

".....I passed too, see?!"

Akali lifted her head from the table and noticed that the scene from where Naruto will shock Shikamaru from passing is already happening. Though it still feels so weird to relive the moments she already knew, so she tried her best not to stand out today too. Just like everyday.

"Nah. That's impossible by now. My character design is so flashy it won't help but stand out."

"Okay class settle down! Congratulations on passing the exams! Today, I'll be assigning you to your permanent teams, so treat them well okay?"

"Team 1......"

After Iruka started blabbering all the other teams, Akali zoned out. She didn't want to monologue other teams, and the author doesn't want to waste time typing other teams so let's get straight to the point and jump to her team.

"This will be the first generation that has an extra team, since the amount of passed students was greater than the last, so for team 12, the members will be Jhin Mikan, Juichiro Mikan, and Akali. Once again, congratulations to all of you! Wait here for your sensesis to come and fetch your team. Ja ne!"

That being said, Iruka left his classroom, leaving the students that were picked up by their sensei, some starting to have lunch while waiting for their sensei to come.

She raised a white eyebrow at this. She doesn't really want to, and this could also answer a theory that she'd been wanting to test for a while, so she went back to her saves, overwritten a save and pressed the 'no' button this time.

[That's new. You never refuse my quests. Being rebellious, are we?]

"Oh shut up."

She replied in her mind and stood up. A little takoyaki session before their sensei comes wouldn't be bad would it? But as she went to the door to open it, a hand tapped her back, instantly catching her attention.

"Ohayo Akali-chan!"

"Damn I'm never gonna get tired of cringing to that"

"Hm?"

It was one of the twins. It was probably a stage name that he introduced to her before because she can't recognize that name from anywhere, though the kind of look like the same from when she first met them. Only a lot more adult looking.

"Well....we never get to really talk during class and I've been wanting to talk to you so here I am! I'm Juichiro by the way."

He said with a closed eyed smile. His hair was like Junko's own, lush and red, and he has a mole just beneath his left eye. Ah, she'll make that his ID so she won't be confused as to who is who.

"Akali. Nice to meet you Juichiro."

She offered a small smile for courtesy and shook his hand, making the other Mikan roll his eyes in irritation.

"Do we really have to be on terms with her?"

"She's our teammate Jhin! Of course we have! You know it wouldn't hurt for you to lower your pride a little and come over here."

Juichiro said with a warning tone. On stage or not, the two still bicker so much huh? And what's with that attitude? Why does he hate Akali so much?

"I'm actually gonna go and get takoyaki before meeting our sensei. Care to come?"

"Of course!/NO."

The twins sent a glare to each other. Akali sighed, if this is what she'll be dealing with until jonin exams, then f*ck will this be a hellhole.

"Team 12? Anyone?"

To Akali's surprise, a certain smug individual was at their door, instantly breaking the fight between the twins.

"Oh it's us! Nice to meet you sensei."

Juichiro said and dragged both of them by the hand to face their sensei. Akali smirked at the said man.

"Hey lovesick b*tch."

"A-Akali-chan??"

Juichiro stuttered and looked at her. He didn't peg her for the vulgar type, or the hot headed one, so it was a big surprise not only for him, but also to Jin.

"My name is Suzaku Yamada. I'll be your sensei. Come on, we have introductions to do."

Team 12 traveled all the way to training ground eleven, a quiet place where a river was located amongst the vast trees.

As soon as they set foot, Suzaku immediately started the usual protocol. Well, this isn't the first time he will be handling a team, but it is the first to be children.

As you know by now, Suzaku isn't really the type to like kids so the Hokage wants to train him by assigning him as a sensei to a team of genin, but it seems like the Hokage was trolling him because he also put the brat in his team.

"My name is Suzaku Yamada, 26 years old, jonin. How about you, the red head with the soft look."

"O-oh! My name is Juichiro Mikan.....13 years old.....uhmm...."

"Likes dislikes hobbies dreams for the future."

Suzaku said that startled the softie for a bit, but the said boy got it perfectly.

"I like Yakisoba and dried squid....I absolutely hate unorganized places, my hobbies are painting and I dream to be a great shinobi one day!"

Suzaku nodded in satisfaction. Akali quickly took a peek at Juichiro and observed/analyzed him.

'Analysis'

Akali hummed in delight. Being a seal master was actually hard, but she knew the basic deactivating and making a simple storage skill. But since the system said that he was already a master at storage seals, he might be a force to reckon with......

"You, the other read head."

"My name is Jhin Mikan. 13 years old. I don't particularly like anything, I hate Akali and my dream for the future is to be stronger than the Gods of Shinobi."

"Jhin!"

"Heh. I feel flattered for some reason."

"Don't be, cause I'll beat you up once were done here."

Akali didn't even bother to hide the smirk that formed on her lips as she faced Jhin head on, both having lighting between their glaring eyes.

Suzaku facepalmed. It's just the first day and he already have to deal with this? Is this somehow that brat's ruse to irritate him again? If it is, then he is not amused.

"Break it up. You, brat introduce yourself."

Akali scoffed and faced Suzaku.

"My name is Akali, 11 years old. I like anything, I don't particularly hate something, my hobbies are none of your business as well as my dreams for the future."

Akali said and gave them a Cheshire cat like grin. Never knew Kakashi's introduction speech would be so damn humorous in this situation. Just look at Suzaku, his left eye is twitching.

"All we knew was her age......"

"Heh, and you're even too young to be a shinobi."

"Oh my dear Jhin, haven't you heared about the word child prodigy? It means that I'm already talented even if I am younger than you."

"Why you-"

Aaaaannnd cue the cartoon smoke fight.

Suzaku and Juichiro watched with a deadpan as the both of them lunged at each other's throats.

"Do we stop it Suzaku-sensei?"

"Yeah. Go stop them before blood spills on the floor."

~A Few Moments Later~

"

I don't like to make things drag on so we'll have the true test right here, right now."

The twins looked confused for a second, thinking that Suzaku was mistaken and that the graduation test already happened, but Akali already saw it coming. Though it was supposed to be the day after introductions, it wasn't really surprising that he would like to do the test right now.

"What do you mean Suzaku-sensei? We already did the graduation exam. Is this your test??"

"Oh, but this is the real test. This test determines whether you'll pass, or fail as a true shinobi. This isn't like what you do in class, in here, I'll permit weapons. Not those wooden kunais you guys play around with."

Suzaku smirked at the poor red head who looked like he was about to have a heart attack, so he quickly turned away before the said boy faints.

"B-but sensei! That's dangerous! We might kill you!"

"Oh really? That's what you're worried about? Don't worry. My power is tenfold greater than the three of you combined."

"Suuuree. And Miria-nee could easily take that tenfold down."

"Yes. Yes she woul— shut up Akali."

Akali shot a teasing smirk to Suzaku who returned it with a glare. By now, the twins clearly knew that their sensei and female teammate has history. Looks like a funny one too.

"Now for this test, you just have to fight me and win."

"That's it? No other rules?"

"That's right Jhin. No anything. Fight me and win, then you'll pass. Do whatever strategy you want, fight me with whatever weapon you got. As long asnyou beat me, you're an instant shinobi."

"I'll give you 5 minutes to plan your attack and get ready, but be warned, I won't go easy on you just because you're kids."

Akali's hand instantly found itself on the tufts of her white hair. She already figured out what he wanted, and he even dropped hints for it. Was it intentional? She doesn't know, but it was all she needed to formulate a plan.

"You two, come with me. I have something planned"

The read heads looked at each other, the one clearly doubted her, for she might be doing something to take them down, but it was the other's turn to be followed so the other one reluctantly did so.

When Akali was sure that they were too far for Suzaku to hear or sense, she immediately turned around and faced the two.

"We have to work together to beat Suzaku."

"And why would we work with you? You clearly want to eliminate us so that we couldn't fight sensei."

The corner of Akali's mouth twitched in fury, Jhin was clearly getting to her nerves.

"Don't you ever use your brain? He clearly said that he's tenfold stronger than us. He's a God d*mned jonin and you want to fight him? You? A mere genin? Even if you work together with your brother, you won't beat him."

"So why don't you beat him huh? Since your sooooo strong and all you should do it yourself!"

The seething red head shouted in anger and walked away from the two. The other one however, stayed to apologize.

"Gomen Akali-chan. I have to team up with him. I can't let him be in danger again."

Juichiro said with an apologetic smile.

"It's alright. I'll just do it myself. I know you want to keep your brother safe."

"Y-you don't really have to......I can help you in some way! I just know I can!"

Akali's ears perked up. He's a seal master.....he can help her even without teaming up with her. She smirked.

"I'll take you up on that offer. You're a seal master, aren't you? Just one seal will greatly help."

"How did you know? O-oh but if it'll help then sure! Just let me get some—"

Akali stopped him by holding his wrist.

"No need for sealing paper. Just draw it here."

She said and flicked her wrist, making a deck of crystal blue cards appear on her hand. Juichiro was surprised, thinking that she was some kind of magician but he shook his head to focus at the task at hand.

"What seal would you want?"

"Storage seal."

"Copy that."

He immediately got to work, dipping his pen on the ink that was held with his belt, writing intricate patterns of Kanji on the smooth surface of the crystal card. What was Akali's plan? What would a storage seal do now?

The answer? She doesn't even know.

She just knew she needed his help, and she thought, since her cards have many faces, why not experiment on it to see how many will it carry? Sounds stupid, but her gut tells her it'll work. Somehow.

"There! It's finished Akali-chan."

Juichiro handed her the card with a seal. She smiled and placed the card on the deck, shuffling it and merging the whole deck into a single card, the card that has the seal on it being the surface. Juichiro watched in amazement as the seal slowly became invisible, then completely vanishing and the card was back to being blank.

Akali twirled the cards on her fingers, in each twirl, a card with Juichiro's seal was appearing until she re-summoned the whole deck, all showing Juichiro's seal before vanishing again.

"Woah....what did you do? How did you do that?"

Akali smirked and put a finger above her lips.

"I copied your seal and imprinted it to every face of my cards, that's why I merged them. See? Like this."

She said and pushing both sides of the deck, making the thin cards meld with each other until only one thin card was visible.

"5 minutes up! Come here both of you."

"You go first. I'll follow quickly."

Akali said and watched as the read head nod and go.

"Now for the next experiment....."

She opened her inventory and made the lone card reveal the face of the seal, scrolling all the way down and finding exactly what she's looking for.

"Poison spider's poison. Not lethal but can paralyze the opponent."

She smiled and stuck her fingers inside one of the boxes, getting the vial of yellow poison and popping out the cork. She closed the inventory and tried inserting the bottle. Didn't work, so she made a single hand sign before trying again. This time, it's reaction was like the inventory, but only the tip was in.

She had an idea yet again.

With a smirk, she didn't try and put in the bottle, only spilling the contents inside the card and quickly disposing of the empty flask, watching what happens next.

"Akali! What the hell are you doing?!"

"Coming!"

She smirked and ran back to their original location.

"Now that all of you are here, who wants to go first?"

"We'll go first. Come on Juichiro. Just like we always do."

Suzaku did his battle stance. He already said he wouldn't go easy, but that doesn't mean he'll kill them. Just bruise them really hard.

"Oh? Teamwork ey? Why not include Akali over there? You'll have better advantage you know...."

Of course Suzaku knew why, but it's still teamwork so they just barely pass. Akali on the other hand, was watching with a smirk on her face. A smirk that arouse an unsettling feeling on the pits of Suzaku's stomach.

He didn't like that smirk one bit.

So he made sure he watched his back whilst fighting the two. Sure they were gifted, but Akali was something else. He has to watch out or she'll definitely kill him.

Jhin delivered a punch at his stomach which was intercepted by his big calloused hands.

"Activate it Chiro!"

"Yes!"

Juichiro replied and made hand signs, a ram on his left and a bull on his right.

"Impressive.....he can also do hand signs in one hand. Juichiro is really talented, acting as the bruiser while Jhin tanks him. Good synergy indeed."

Akali thought to herself, smirking as the clone's memories rushed in her head. The clone she made already did preparations, now all she needed was for them to weaken Suzaku and then she will attack.

"Trap activation: earth snare!"

"Support activation: raging fire bull!"

As soon as he said those words, there was vines that covered Suzaku's lower body that made him be rooted in place, the second activation making two fire like bulls appear on both of Jhin's knuckles, and punching Suzaku with all his might.

The collision of the fire bulls to Suzaku's face apparently made so much smoke, but as soon as the smoke cleared, only a log was in Suzaku's place.

"Sh*t! Substitution!"

Jhin cursed, looking at Juichiro then at Suzaku who revealed himself from behind a tree.

"Oh but he didn't leave unscathed. His hp says so otherwise."

"That's one big damage. I guess they have a synergy skill that makes their attacks stronger if they fight together. Lucky."

"Nice try. Too bad time's up. Hey brat you're up next."

Akali smirked and stepped up, feeling Jhin's glare burning at the back of her head.

"You have 10 minutes Akali. Entertain me."

Suzaku said with a smirk and lunged at her, a heavy punch was coming her way so she dodged, using the momentum to land a punch on his gut but he twisted his body at the last moment, kicking Akali's head which made her roll on the floor.

Before Suzaku rush to her, she immediately stopped her fall with a cartwheel.

"How many minutes left system?"

[7 minutes and 40 seconds.]

"Hm...I have to stall longer."

Akali thought to herself, sinking into a SNC stance and feeling the rush of extra attack power flood her nerves. With a boost of adrenaline, she attacked first. Flicking a joker card and throwing it at Suzaku's cheek, slightly grazing it and causing blood to drip down from the wound.

Her using his father's cards distracted Suzaku for a mere second, making Akali take the opening and punching him straight on the face, pulling on the chakra connection from her cards, making it hurl back at her palms with lightning speed, the two joker cards cutting Suzaku's skin.

"What about now?"

[3 minutes and 37 seconds. You are ready.]

With a smirk, Akali tugged on one stun card, the said card latching on Suzaku's flesh and instantly paralyzing him.

One thing to know about rpg fighting games is that five seconds is more than enough for the enemy to kill you, and she has 52 poisoned cards. A full 4 minutes and 30 seconds.

"I-I can't move!"

"Ah. Is that poison side effect? Continuous poison damage...."

"Surrender lion. I still have 51 more where that came from."

[5 seconds over!]

As soon as that tab appeared, she tugged at another one again, making Suzaku shake and groan in pain as another poison card cut his skin.

Akali smirked on Suzaku's failed attempt of raising his hand to form a substitution jutsu

"Don't even try. If you move any further, that poison will enter your bloodstream and kill you."

"A-Akali-chan!! That's too far! Let go of sensei!!"

Akali sighed. Looking at the red head twins and smirking.

"Wanna see a trick?"

She said, nearing "Suzaku" and holding a joker card on his neck.

"Akali no!"

They warned but they were too late as she already made a slit on Suzaku's neck. But there was no blood, only a poof of smoke followed as Suzaku's clone vanished.

"Wait, so that's not sensei?"

"Nah. The real one's still behind that tree. Though I'm offended. That's not even a tenth of your power. Are you underestimating me, sensei?"

Akali question as Suzaku emerged from out of the trees, fully unscathed.

"Maybe it was me who underestimated him. Just how strong is he?"

She thought, her hand glowing a pale blue as she took back all of the cards that was scattered all over their location. That was what the clone did while the twins were fighting Suzaku, but it seems like it became useless the moment Suzaku's clone showed up.

"Not bad, but you still didn't beat me. You fail. Ja ne."

"O-oi! That's not fair!"

Jhin shouted. Though he wanted Akali to fail, he didn't want for him and his twin to come down with her.

"In the real world, nothing is fair. What was the point of this exam?"

"To win of course."

Like a proud parrot, he puffed his chest like he was so sure that he was right.
