Chapter 22

22:49, 10 March 2018

Because we had woken up early, everyone was tired. The camp owners were two very nice young women, Jordan and Kayleigh. They told us that we didn't have to do any camp activities today, but we could just sit in our new groups and get to know people. I told Max about my idea to get Harvey and Hannah together and I introduced him to Libby. Mackensie went off with her other friends, who kept giving us all funny looks. I didn't like them very much. Max and Harvey were sharing a tent with two boys named Luke and Charlie. They seemed quite nice. We all sat in a circle and decided to play this game where we say one thing about ourselves when it was our turn. If you weren't quick enough then you were out of the game. Mackensie joined half way through. Every time Harvey said something she would laugh and flutter her eyelids. Hannah looked really upset. I saw Max whisper something in Charlie's ear and he smirked. All of a sudden, he sat right next to Mackensie and started staring into her eyes as if she was some sort of goddess. She blushed. Ah, I can see what they're doing. Charlie's trying to flirt with Mackensie to get Harvey off her mind. For the rest of the game, Mackensie flirts with Charlie and Hannah seems a lot happier. We are then called in by Jordan and Kayleigh, who both tell us that we're going out for lunch and must dress nicely. I put on a blue crop top and some white shorts seeing as the weather is really warm. When we arrive at the camp, Max, Harvey, Hannah, Libby, Luke, Charlie and I sat at a table together, although Charlie often went over to Mackensie's table to talk to her. Both Max and I smirk at each other. Now that Mackensie is out of the way, we can continue with our plan.

Time skip to nightWe are all sat in a circle doing traditional camp fire things such as toasting marshmallows and telling ghost stories. Luke tells quite a scary one and I suddenly feel aware that we are out in the open at night, and anyone could creep up on us. I huddle close to Max and he puts his arm around me. It's suddenly a lot colder as well. I wish I was wearing a jacket, but I'm still wearing my crop top and shorts. Max notices me shivering and takes off his jacket (cringey and cliche I know) and wraps it round me. I find a comfortable position snuggled into Max and breathing in his scent when I suddenly realise how tired I am and my eyes slowly start to close.

I must've fallen asleep because I wake up to Max moving from the position. Most of the group have gone now, and it's just Max, Harvey, Luke, Hannah, Libby and I.

"We better get to bed. Jordan said we had to be in our tents by 11pm and it's already quarter past. She'll be fuming if she sees us." Says Libby. The boys walk us over to our tent and head back towards their own. Mackensie seems pleased.

"Why'd you look so pleased?" Asks Libby."Charlie is my boyfriend!" She smiles with pride.I still feel extremely tired, so I get into my pyjamas and go straight to sleep at the sound of the other girls voices.

A/N: I know this is quite short but a lot happens in the next chapter!! Sorry for the extremely long wait, there might be wait for the next couple chapters but I'm determined to finish this book before I start publishing anymore!!
