Chapter 39: Not Mine, Not Me

Weeks passed and who would have thought that it’s now finally February. I’ve been here for almost 8 months. Time flies so fast. GOT7 were busy with their activities so I wasn’t able to meet Mark for weeks. GOT7 celebrated their 1st anniversary but due to conflict of schedule, I wasn’t able to be there. Oh well.

Today’s another day.

Suddenly, I remembered the bracelet again, the one that fell during JB’s birthday. It really looks like it’s my bracelet.

*flashback*

“I thought you lost it?” I told Mark.

Mark looked so surprised and grabbed the bracelet immediately.

“Oh,” Mark said. “Does it look like the one I lost?”

Mark is acting kinda weird. I was trying to get the bracelet but he refused.

“It’s Jessica’s bracelet.” he added.

“But I’m sure it’s mine.” I said as I try to get it back but Mark refused to give me.

I’m really sure it’s mine. I saw the initials BJL. It’s mine. I know it’s mine but Mark keeps on insisting that it was Jessica’s.

“What’s happening there?” Jinyoung asked.

“Ah,” I said. “Nothing. Youngjae was just looking for his gift for JB.”

I looked at JB and saw that he was staring at Mark so surprised. I looked at Youngjae and asked him to go there and give his gift already. Youngjae nodded and immediately gave his gift to JB.

Mark looked at me, “It’s Jessica’s. I’m sure of it because there’s the initial of her friends’ name. Bong, Joey, and Lilly. It’s their friendship bracelet.”

I just remained silent. Maybe I was just imagining things. Maybe it wasn’t really mine. Maybe it just looks the same. Ahy, Rhianne, bracelets may look the same. But why is Jessica’s bracelet with him? That thing entered my mind.

“Maybe I just missed that bracelet.” I said and just smiled at Mark.

“I’m sorry I lost it. I’ll just find something like that again.” he said.

“No need.” I said.

The value can’t be returned anymore. I just hope that the one who gave me is not mad at me even though he doesn’t know that I lost it.

*end of flashback*

Wooh. Whatever. Mark wouldn’t hide things from me, I know. He’s telling the truth. I should believe in him.

Today, we’re going to have a meeting with JYP to know our schedules for the next weeks or even months. Wooh! I’m excited with this. I just hope I won’t enter any drama series ‘cause I don’t know how will I be able to handle acting series. I’m not as good as Suzy sunbae.

But before we have our meeting, we’ll enter our training again. Yes, training. After debut, we still have trainings. Actually, it’s harder than before we debut, but still it’s fun training. I can feel that I became a better person. Haha.

I prepared myself and went to the dance hall where we’re going to train. We’re going to have our dance training again. -_- Oh no.

As I entered the hall, I saw Joo, Baek Ah Yeon, and Yerin there.

“Where’s Jimin?” I asked Yerin.

“She has an appointment for today so she will not be able to attend today’s training.” Yerin said.

“Ooh.” I said. “Okay. Will 6mix be with us?”

“6mix have their shooting at Weekly Idol today.” Joo unnie said.

“Is that so?” I said. “So it’s only the four of us?”

“I think so.” Joo unnie said. “I don’t know if we will be with miss A”

Suddenly, Kahi unnie entered the room.

“So how was everybody?” she asked.

“Doing great.” Joo unnie said.

“So, I guess we can start our training.” she said.

We started to stand up and looked at the mirror. We had some dance warm-ups first. We should always warm up first before doing heavy things or else we’ll end up having cramps.

“We’re going to make you a little flexible today.” Kahi unnie said.

The moment I heard the word ‘flexible’ the thing that entered my mind is bending, split or whatever acrobatic things.

“Okay, everyone form a line.” Kahi unnie said.

We started forming a line and our position was like this --> Joo, Ah Yeon, Me, Yerin

“I want everybody to hold hands with each other and try to pull each other without falling.” Kahi unnie said.

We followed what she said and we held hands and started pulling each other. Suddenly,

*bang*

Ah Yeon removed her hands so Yerin and I fell down. I don’t know if she purposely did it but I just stood up again and help Yerin stand up too.

“Be careful everyone. Ah Yeon, try to hold tightly.” Kahi unnie said. Ah Yeon just nodded.

Yerin suddenly whispered to me, “She did that purposely.”

“Yah, Yerin-a, what did I tell you before?” I said.

“Fine, unnie. Fine.” she said.

I smiled at Yerin and started to do things again. This time, we made it. I think Ah Yeon didn’t purposely do that. She might slip her hand that’s why we fell down.

“The next one, everyone raise your right hand.” Kahi unnie said.

When Ah Yeon raised her hand it hit my left eye.

“Aww.” I exclaimed.

“Yah!” Yerin shouted. I stopped Yerin.

“Ooh, I’m sorry Rhianne.” Ah Yeon said.

“No it’s fine.” I said and smiled at her. She smiled back at me.

“It seems like Ah Yeon is kinda clumsy today.” Kahi unnie said. “Are you alright Ah Yeon?”

“I was just shocked by a news but don’t worry, I’m fine.” Ah Yeon said.

Kahi unnie nodded, “I wonder what news is that. But anyway, let’s start the training again.”

I also wondered what news is that. Oh well, it’s not my life so I won’t interfere.

We started training again. After the whole dance training, Joo unnie and I was able to do the split and bending. Actually, I know how to bend even before so it was easy for me same as with splitting.

After that, we went to our locker rooms to change our clothes. Yerin got a phone call so she went out earlier than me. So only Joo unnie, Baek Ah Yeon and I were in the locker room.

“I heard that Mark and you are in a relationship.” Ah Yeon said.

I looked at her feeling so surprised. I don’t know what to say.

“What are you…” I was about to say something then she interrupted me.

“Don’t lie anymore. Mark was the one who told me.” she said then she looked at me. “Congratulations! Mark was able to admit his feelings for you and he’s not afraid of what may happen to both of your careers.”

The tone of Ah Yeon’s voice was with a little sarcasm. I don’t know what to say so I just stayed quiet. Ah Yeon suddenly went out of the room banging the door.

Joo unnie tapped me. “Don’t worry. It’ll be my secret. I won’t tell anyone, but does JYP knows about this?” she asked.

I shook my head, “He doesn’t know that we’re in a relationship. He just knows that we’re dating.”

Joo unnie nodded, “I know JYP will understand, but make sure that both of you will tell him soon, so he will not be shocked if rumors occur.”

“Ahm, excuse me.” I said.

“Yes?” Joo said.

“But why is Ah Yeon like that? I mean, she seems to be mad at me.” I told Joo unnie.

“Don’t tell her that I told you this,” Joo said.

I nodded at her.

“Ah Yeon and Mark were so close when Ah Yeon went to the dorms. Before, I thought that they were dating already but Mark denied it.” Joo said.

I was kinda shocked with what she is saying. I didn’t know. Mark never told me anything.

“Mark didn’t admit that he likes Ah Yeon but Ah Yeon likes Mark. Well, who won’t like Mark? He’s the most handsome person I ever met, next to Leeteuk oppa.” she said and smiled.

Oh yeah, she met Super Junior’s Leeteuk when they had a duet on the song entitled ‘Ice Cream’.

“But wait, I thought Baek Ah Yeon has a boyfriend during KPOP Star.” I said.

“Yes, she had. But she broke up with him, they said it was because of Lee Seunghoon but I don’t know really.” Joo unnie said.

I don’t know what to say. A lot of things happen before and I don’t know how to put everything in mind.

“And now, she knew that you two are already in a relationship so that kinda breaks her heart.” Joo unnie said.

“But I didn’t know.” I said.

“It’s fine if you don’t know anything.” she said. “’Cause the more you know, the more painful life will be.”

The more I know, the more painful life will be. I just kinda smirked I think?

“I’ll just keep it as a secret too.” I told Joo unnie.

“Just be careful right now, you’re still new in the industry. Don’t be like me.” Joo unnie said.

She smiled at me.

Oh yeah, Joo unnie got into a scandal before that’s why she decided to be a trainee again. And I guess, she’ll have a comeback now. It’s been years.

I never thought Joo will be this kind. When I watched her on Dream High 1, she was one of the meanies there. But in the real world, she’s not.

After our conversation there, we went to JYP’s office because we’ll have our meeting. I was with Joo. When we entered the office, I saw Jimin there and Baek Ah Yeon. Yerin wasn’t there yet. I sat down beside Jimin.

“Oh, Yerin is not yet here?” JYP asked.

Suddenly the door opened, “Sorry I’m late.” Yerin said.

“Oh, it’s fine. We’re not yet even starting.” JYP said.

When Yerin sat down already, we started the meeting.

“So this is going to be your schedule for the following weeks.” JYP said.

“All of you here, together with GOT7 were invited on the Valentines’ special of After School Club. So you’ll be there. Baek Ah Yeon…” JYP said.

Ah Yeon looked at JYP.

“You’ll also be performing ‘Good Boy’ with Jackson, Mark and Bambam.” he added.

I saw Ah Yeon smiled.

“15& will perform together with JB, Jr, and Youngjae, a duet song, ‘Way Back into Love’. JB will be partnered with Rhianne, Jr with Yerin and Youngjae with Jimin” JYP said.

We all nodded. I’m going to sing a duet with JB.

“And Joo, you’ll be performing ‘Ice Cream’ with Yugyeom.” JYP added. “That’ll be your first out on TV before your comeback. You’ve worked hard and I want you to return to this industry.”

Joo smiled. “Okay.” she said.

I told you she’s going to have a comeback. Well, past is past right? There are times that we make mistakes but that doesn’t mean we can’t change. And I guess, Joo unnie decided to change for the better. I’m so happy for her.

“Plus, Rhianne, you play tennis right?” JYP said.

I nodded at JYP. “You’re invited to play at the quarterly mini Olympic game on the 18th of March together with Yerin, who’ll be playing too and GOT7.”

“Jimin will be there too to sing Korea’s national anthem but she will not play.” JYP said.

“Ooh, I’m going to be the opening?” Jimin said.

“Yes,” JYP said.

“Ooh, it’s going to be fun.” Jimin said.

I smiled at Jimin. Well, being the opening in such a program, well, it’s the best I think.

“Rhianne, you will be busy after that game.” JYP said.

I’m going to be busy?

“Because a lot of companies liked your tandem with Mark in Dream High 3 so you’ll be having some couple photo shoots in some clothing company. Plus, Simply KPOP also wanted you to sing every Friday, one English song. So every Friday, you’ll be there.” JYP said.

So, I think they’ll be able to accept our relationship, since a lot of people want our tandem in Dream High 3. I can’t help smiling.

“Ah Yeon and Joo, you’ll be preparing for you comeback. Ah Yeon will have her comeback on April and Joo you’ll be having your comeback on June.” JYP said. “Joo, I know this will be difficult for you, but I guess 3 years is enough to improve your heart?”

Joo unnie nodded.

Ah Yeon suddenly raised her hand, “Uhm, by any chance, can I have a duet with GOT7 Mark?”

I suddenly looked at her. I saw Yerin looked at her too. Then Yerin looked at me. Through our eyes, we were able to talk. Yerin was saying that ‘What kind of girl is she?’ and I was like ‘Just let her’.

“I think it won’t be a bad idea.” JYP said. “Okay, I’ll note it.”

Ah Yeon smiled and smirked at me. I just pretended that I don’t care.

“I think that’s all for today.” JYP said. “I’ll just be calling you if there are some changes.”

We stood up and said our goodbyes to JYP. Then we went out.

After School Club Valentines’ Special

Today, we’re going to be on After School Club for their Valentines’ Special. We went there and we were on the dressing room preparing for it. Suddenly Eric Nam, approached me.

“Rhianne, right?” he said.

I nodded. “Annyeong haseyo.” I said.

“Let’s have a picture together then I’ll put it on my twitter to know that right now, you’re here at After School Club.” he said.

We took a picture together suddenly, “Hey Eric!” Jackson shouted.

They high-fived. “How are you Jackson?” Eric said.

“I’m doing great Eric.” Jackson said.

“Oh Mark! Hi!” Eric said. “I hope you’ll be able to come back here at ASC as my co-host.”

“Of course I will, or should I say, Markson will.” Mark said.

Mark noticed that I was looking at them. So he went near me.

“How are you feeling?” he said.

“Happy?” I said.

He smiled at me and pinched my cheeks. Then Mark went back talking with Jackson and Eric.

“Don’t be so close with Mark. You might create an issue.” Ah Yeon told me.

I stared at her, “*sigh*, Okay.” I said.

She started walking away from me, “Oh, and by any chance, don’t you give the fans a hint that you two are in a relationship.”

She didn’t wait for my response and she went out of the door. Nice talking! Psh.

“Everyone. Be ready, in 5 minutes, we’ll start.” the staff said.

So we went there at the backstage.

Eric Nam went to the stage already.

“5, 4, 3, 2, 1… Game!” the director said.

“Hello everybody! We’re here live at the After School Club with your host, Eric Nam. For today, we have special guests. Yes you heard it right, guests. They’re here to celebrate Valentines’ Day with us. I would like to call on, Baek Ah Yeon, Joo, GOT7 and 15&.” Eric Nam said.

We started to enter the stage and we have a designated seat. Girls were in front and the boys were at the back. Mark and JB were at my back, so I feel more comfortable even though I’m at the middle.

“Thank you everyone for the accepting our invitation here.” Eric Nam said. “So, can you please introduce yourself one-by-one?”

Then we started introducing ourselves. After introducing,

“Before we start this special episode, we’re going to hear a song from Baek Ah Yeon together with GOT7’s Mark, Jackson and Bambam.” Eric Nam said.

They’re going to perform ‘Good Boy’. I don’t like this song. Sorry but why does she have to choose Mark at the end? Plus, they’re going to hug here. -_- Okay, I am now a jealous cat.

When they went in front, Mark looked at me. But I immediately removed my looks from him. Then the music started.

I was watching them perform and Mark was really close with Baek Ah Yeon. He was even hugging her. I closed my eyes and felt my heartbeat. It’s beating faster than usual. Not now, please. We’re live here at the studio, I don’t want to collapse or any.

I put my hand on my chest and started watching again. I saw Mark looking at me. I just smiled at him. Then here it goes again, Ah Yeon went near Mark because the ending of the song, she’s going to choose Mark.

She hugged her and they smiled. My heart

Dugdug. Dugdug.

Yerin held my hand and whispered, “Do you want water?”

I nodded at her. She then gave me a bottle of water.

Water is the cure to this pain. Water removes all the pain. After their performance, Mark whispered something to me “Is something happening with you? Are you alright?”

I just smiled at him then drank the water again.

“Thank you for that very wonderful performance.” Eric Nam said. “Since it’s a special episode today, and everything is all about love. So I guess, this will be a love interview.”

The moment he said ‘The Love Interview’, I felt uneasy. What if they bring my past out? But, I guess it’s fine. I didn’t do anything wrong before.

“We gathered some questions from fans and now we’re going to ask you those questions.” Eric Nam said.

Questions started to occur on the screen.

“For our first question, it’s for the girls.” Eric Nam said. “Who do you think is the ideal boyfriend in GOT7 and why?”

Eric Nam immediately looked at us, the girls. “Kinda interesting question, so I think, we’ll start with Jimin.”

“Me?” Jimin said.

Eric nodded.

“Oh okay.” Jimin said. “I think, the ideal boyfriend in GOT7 is… Jinyoung oppa.”

And Jinyoung was like, ‘Well, I know I’m the ideal boyfriend.’ while raising his hands. What a guy.

“Jinyoung oppa is so sweet. If you’ll know more about him, he cares a lot. Not only for girls, but also for everyone. For me, he is the ideal boyfriend.”

“One point for Jr.” Eric Nam said. “How about Yerin?”

Yerin kinda blushed. I’m sure she’s going to say it’s Mark.

“I think it’s Yugyeom.” Yerin said.

Yugyeom? Not Mark?

I looked at Yugyeom and Yugyeom was like a shy type of person. I can smell something fishy going on around here.

“Since I’m kinda mature, I prefer someone who is more childish.” she said.

“Why not choose Jackson? He’s the most childish person in GOT7.” Eric said.

“Hey Eric, you keep quiet.” Jackson said.

Everyone started to laugh.

“Okay fine.” Eric said. “So I guess it’s a point for the maknae. How about our new member here? Rhianne?”

I smiled at him suddenly I saw Baek Ah Yeon staring at me and was like saying that I should not tell that it is Mark. Mark saw it but I removed my eyes from me.

“The ideal boyfriend for me is a kind of person who is childish yet mature enough to handle such relationships and I think as the leader of the group, he has what it takes to be the ideal boyfriend, JB.” I said.

I’m sorry Mark.

“Ooh, it’s JB.” Eric said. “I was disappointed. I thought it’s going to be Mark since I love your couple in Dream High 3.”

“Oh really? Thank you.” I said.

“But isn’t Mark kinda childish and mature at the same time too?” Eric said. “Sorry, but I really love MarHianne couple.”

Then Eric stopped. “Did I just create a couple?”

“Eric is the founder of Mark and Rhianne couple, in short, MarHianne couple. I’m the president!” Jackson said.

“Okay Jackson, you’re the president. Who wants to be the vice-president?” Eric said.

I started blushing.

“But kidding aside, don’t you think Mark isn’t the type of childish and mature as the same time?” he asked me.

“Mark.” I looked at Mark. He wasn’t smiling. But even though, I smiled at him. “Mark is childish too and mature at the same time, the thing that’s why I didn’t choose him to be the ideal boyfriend because he’s too perfect. A lot of girls like her.” I said.

Mark wasn’t smiling at me. I’m sorry Mark.

“Okay. So it’s one point for JB.” Eric said.

Ah Yeon smiled at me.

“So next, Ah Yeon?” Eric said.

“Like what Rhianne said, he’s perfect so I choose Mark.” she said.

I don’t know but my heart feels the pain. I’m sorry Mark, I can’t fight for you. I’m afraid that because of our relationship, your career, my career, our career might be lost.

“Okay.” Eric said. “But I’m still a MarHianne shipper. Haha. Next, oh it’s Joo. How are you Joo?”

“I’m doing great Eric.” Joo said.

“It’s been a long time.” Eric said. “So, who do you choose?”

“With the same reason, I choose Mark.” she said.

“Mark.” Eric said. “So it looks like we have a winner, and it’s Mark. 2 points for Mark, 1 point for JB, 1 point for Yugyeom and 1 point for Jr and no points for Jackson.”

“Hey, why it’s only me? Youngjae and Bambam too.” Jackson said.

“It’s because they’re still young so it’s understandable, but, c’mon Jackson you’re old already.” Eric said.

“What’s your age again Eric?” Jackson said sarcastically.

“It’s a sin to ask that Jackson.” Eric said “So moving on, let’s do the other way around. GOT7, who do you think is the ideal girlfriend from these girls below?”

I’m not expecting that Mark will choose me. I mean, I made him mad so I’m sure he won’t choose me.

“Let’s start from the ideal boyfriend, Mark.” Eric said.

“I’ll choose…” Mark said. “I’ll choose Rhianne.”

He chose me?

Eric suddenly stood up and acted like a crazy fangirl (or fanboy, I guess?)

“Oh my gosh, my ship is sailing.” Eric said. Then he returned to the real him, “Why Rhianne?”

“Well, if you will know Rhianne more, she’s the kind of person who loves kids and it’s fun seeing girls love kids without pretending and she’s good at math.” Mark said.

I can’t look at Mark.

“Ooh, Math. I hate Math. Anyway, 1 point for Rhianne. How about JB?” Eric said.

“I also choose Rhianne” JB said.

Uh-oh.

“Because Rhianne is very humble and she looks cute when she gets mad.” JB said.

“In what way?” Eric said.

“If she’s mad at you, she’ll not talk for you in a while. Then the moment she sees you, she will burst out in anger and tell you everything. She doesn’t backstab.” JB said.

When did I get mad at him? I can’t remember a thing. -_-

“How did you know?” I exclaimed.

“I just knew.” JB said.

“Oooh. I should be careful with her. HAHA. Kidding.” Eric said. “Jr?”

“I choose Yerin.” he said. “But I also choose Rhianne.”

“Ooh, it’s two. Why them?” Eric asked.

“I chose Yerin and Rhianne because they both play the piano and it’s cute to see them play the piano. Plus, they are really great persons inside them.”

Eric continued to ask GOT7, Jackson chose Jimin for the reason that Jimin is funny. Youngjae chose Joo because Joo is a great singer and he admires her. Yugyeom chose Yerin for the same reason as Jr and Bambam chose Ah Yeon because Ah Yeon is kind to him.

After that kind of interview,

“After that interview session, we’re going to have a performance by Joo and Yugyeom.” Eric said.

They started singing the song, ‘Ice Cream’. This song is really very catchy. After they performed, we then sang ‘Way Back Into Love’

When we were singing, JB was too close to me and I can feel that Mark is getting mad at me so I tried to avoid JB. I don’t know but, it seems like right now, singing with JB, I feel that I know him already.

What I mean is that, I think I met him before but I can’t remember or there’s just someone who is like him. Oh well.

After singing, we had some games but since our time is limited, Eric will just pick one girl and one boy to play the game.

This game is a picture game. There are two boards with pictures and the person will choose who is better. It’s like the game Leeteuk played in a reality show before wherein she chooses Yoona all the time.

Eric started to pick. “For boys, Mark will play the game and for girls, Rhianne will. Ooh, my favorite couple. I’m sorry for Mark’s fan, but I really want Rhianne and Mark to be a couple. So let’s start with Rhianne first.”

The first pair was Lee Minho and JB.

“Lee Minho!” I exclaimed.

“Poor JB.” Eric teased.

The next one was Lee Minho and Mark. Mark looked at me, as if he was asking me to choose him. I wanted to choose Lee Min Ho. Huhu.

“Mark.” I said.

Eric smiled widely. “Hahaha.”

Next pair was Mark and EXO’s Kai.

“Mark.”

The next one was Mark and Donghae. Uh-oh. It’s my first love here in the KPOP industry. I’m sorry Mark, but Donghae is my first love. Hahaha.

“Donghae.” I said.

“Awww, does it hurt Mark?” Eric said.

“I’m sorry Mark hyung, I really like Donghae sunbae.” I said while giving him a peace sign.

He just smiled at me.

Then, Donghae and Jang Geun Suk.

Why? Why them? Ugh. Who to choose? Donghae or Jang Geun Suk?

“Rhianne, who will you choose?” Eric said.

“Can I choose both?” I asked.

“You can’t” he said.

“Fine, I’ll choose…” I said. “Donghae.”

But I also want to choose Jang Geun Suk. -_- I love them both. -_- And the last pair,

“Oooh,” Eric said. “Who is this guy?” then he stared at me.

He’s not an actor or a superstar, he’s Baldwin.

“Where did you get that?” I asked.

“Was he your boyfriend?” Eric asked me. This is the part that I hate. They are now asking me about my past.

I just smiled, “He never became my boyfriend.”

“Then who is he?” Eric asked.

I have to be honest in a way that it won’t affect my career.

“Let’s just say that he is a special friend for me especially during my high school years.” I said.

“Then who’ll you choose this guy or Donghae?” Eric asked.

“I’ll choose Donghae of course.” I said. Then I smiled.

After my game it was Mark’s turn.

The first pair of photo shown there was Suzy and Min.

“Suzy.” Mark said.

Then they changed Min’s photo. Next one is Suzy and Yerin.

“Yerin.”

Next, Yerin and Jimin.

“Yerin.”

“Does it hurt Jimin that you were not chosen by Mark?” Eric said.

“I’m sorry Jimin.” Mark said.

Jimin pretended to cry, “It hurts. Ouch. HAHAH.”

Next is Yerin and Ah Yeon.

Mark stopped for a bit. “Ah Yeon.”

I saw Yerin quite disappointed then I saw Ah Yeon smiling.

The next pair is Ah Yeon and I.

Mark looked at me, “Of course, it’s Rhianne.”

“Oh my gosh, my ship is sailing again.” Eric teased and the last photo was,

Me and … who’s that girl?

“Wait who’s this girl?” Eric said.

“Isn’t that Wendy?” JB said.

“Who’s Wendy?” Eric said.

“She’s my friend there in states.” Mark added.

“So who will you choose Mark, Rhianne or Wendy?”

Mark paused for a bit.

“Wendy.” he said.
