Chapter 8

The orientation ceremony is gonna take place in two days so everybody was very busy and stressed. Pete was more stressed than anyone there cause the event in his hotel is also around the corner and he hasn't even started his preparations for it but he was sure that with a little bit of help from his friends he will be able to do it.

Some of them were on the floor painting and cutting paper and some were on the stage setting up beams and posts Vegas was also on the stage helping his team and Pete and Saint were on the floor with the others. Even Tawan was here to help them set up the stage, everything was going smoothly when Mark sat up from his place and sat down near Pete, at first Pete didn't mind cause he thought that he was here to help and he did needed some extra hands so that he could finish the poster in time but after sometime he was proven wrong.

Mark was there to flirt with him, his one hand was painting but the other was on Pete's back touching him, Pete was very uncomfortable he tried to push away his hands but every time he did push his hands away they came back, he tried to tolerate it because he didn't want to create a scene but suddenly he saw Vegas storming towards him with an angry face, Vegas pulled up Mark by his collar and punch him on the face.

Vegas was watching over Pete since the time Mark came and sat down with him and has seen everything that has happened he tried to control his anger but when he saw him touching Pete continuously he couldn't stop his anger and punched him. Everybody was surprised, they tried to hold Vegas back but he keep trying to free himself from their hold. Mark who was shocked from the punch quickly recovered and tried to punch Vegas too but he couldn't cause some of them were holding him up too.

In between all this commotion Pete was still in a daze but Saint woke him up

"Pete what are you doing?? Stop them"

Pete woke up from his daze and stepped between them and shouted

"Stop it, stop it Vegas and you too Mark"

"But he-he was touching you Pete"

"I know but did I say anything Vegas, no right then why did you punch him" Pete questioned

Vegas had no answer to that question so he didn't say anything just stand there in silence

"Good then let's continue our work" Pete said

"And he is sitting with me and we don't need anymore people on our team so Mark go find another team" said Saint glaring at him

Mark didn't say anything and just sat down with the other team to avoid causing any further problem but he couldn't stop glaring at Vegas who was also staring at him equal anger and hatred in his eyes. Vegas couldn't cool himself down so he went out for some fresh air cause he didn't want to cause anymore trouble for Pete.

Tawan who saw all this silently also went out after him, he think he saw something in Vegas's eyes  that he has  never seen, not even for him. When he went out he saw him walking in circles with an angry face, Tawan went near him and said

"What was all that Vegas? Why were you so angry?"

"Why shouldn't I be angry? he was touching Pete all over"

"Yeah I know, but you are never this angry when some guy talk to me like that"

"I know but it's different between Pete and you"

"What's the difference Vegas?"

"You can protect yourself Tawan but Pete, he-he can't he was never trained to protect himself, all his life he was protected by his family because they loved him so much"

"So Vegas are you saying that you love him"

Vegas was stunned for a moment he couldn't say anything at all. Tawan looked at him and asked him again

"So Vegas are you in love with Pete answer me?" With anger in his voice

"No I'm not" Vegas answered

"Then why are you so upset about it, does he mean so much to you" Tawan asked

"No baby he doesn't" Vegas said and cupped Tawan's face to calm him down

"Then why do you care for him so much"  he said looking at Vegas's face

"I care about him because I promised his mom that I would take care of him but I had to move to US and couldn't do it so that guilt and sense of responsibility bulit up inside which is making me over protective for him"

"Are you sure you feel nothing about him?"

"Yeah babe I'm sure"

"So he means nothing to you?"

"Yeah yeah he means nothing to me" Vegas answered and hugged Tawan. He closed his eyes to feel Tawan's warmth and smell his scent but it's not as warm as before and his scent wasn't as pleasant as it used to but it let him remember the warmth and pleasant scent of someone else. Pete.

He opened his eyes suddenly and saw Pete standing not far from where they are standing and saw tears running down his face, he was sure that Pete has heard everything they said. Pete looked at him with tears filled eyes and suddenly turn and ran away. He wanted to run after him but Tawan was still hugging him so he stopped. After a while Tawan broke the hug and said 

"Let's go inside or they will complain that we are skipping work"

"Yeah let's go" Vegas said and walked back into the room, when he entered the room he looked around it to see if he can find Pete but he was nowhere to be found. He went to Saint and asked

"Hey Saint where is Pete?"

"Pete? He went out a few minutes ago I thought he was with you" Saint answered

"No he wasn't with me"

"What he isn't with you then where is he?" Saint panicked

"I don't know that's why I'm asking"

"Oh this is bad he never leaves without me and even if he has to he calls me to inform me" Saint said. He quickly pulled out his phone and dialled Pete's number but he didn't pick up

"He isn't picking up my call, Vegas you try calling him maybe he will pick yours up" Vegas also tried calling him but he still didn't pick up. Saint and Vegas were still trying to figure out where Pete went when Perth entered the room in emergency

"What happened to you? Why are you in such a hurry?" Saint asked his boyfriend"Babe I-I just saw Pete?"

"WHAT?WHERE?" Saint asked

"Just outside the faculty I tried to greet him but he ran past me and I think I saw tears in his eyes" Perth said with concern

Vegas was now totally sure that Pete heard everything and he felt so guilty for saying all that.
