wed 5 days later in NYC

It was easier being in NYC for the simple fact being that she hadn't let her friends there know she was in the city so she didn't have to pretend she was fine and act like nothing was wrong and everything was normal with them or anyone else.

It was hard being away from Bruno but they were in contact thanks to face time, text and calls, it was strange not going to sleep and waking up next to him, well when she did sleep that is and he had been sending her flowers everyday and still he nagged her about eating when they talked and he had her assistant deliver food to her that he knows she likes.

She was sitting in a diner that was close to her hotel that she had started coming to yesterday after her day shooting with Lady Gaga was over, she drank coffee and watched the people outside walk by and wondered about their lives, it was a way to fill her mind and keep thoughts of the crash and losing peanut out of her head.

She's interupted when she feels a tap on her leg and turns to see a little girl standing beside her with blond hair in a pony tail and big blue eyes smiling at her, she looks to be 4 or 5 years old and she's holding paper flowers and she says smile and takes 1 of the paper flowers and hands it to CeCe and a woman comes over saying Jodie don't bother the lady, CeCe turns to the woman who comes and takes the little girl's hand and says it's ok she wasn't and says thank you for the flower to the child.

She left the diner feeling different and couldn't get the sweet, innocent gesture of the little girl giving her a paper flower and telling her to smile out of her head.

She had enjoyed a long soak in the tub and put her sleep t shirt on when Urbana phones her and asks her how are you and how is the shoot going.

She replies i'm ok and the photo shoot is going good, Lady Gaga is a perfectionist but easy enough to work with and asks are you ok, hows Phil and the Z kids doing mama and is pleased when Urbana tells her they are all doing good and CeCe tells her to give them all a kiss and cuddle for her.

She stiffens up when Urbana says remember i'm always here for you, I know you and Bruno are in pain but if you guys need anything, me and Phil are here for both of you.

She replies thanks I appreciate that and agrees to arrange to meet up for lunch when she gets back to L.A before hanging up.

She went and took out the paper flower from her camera case and sat staring at it for what felt like hours, she got up feeling stiff from sitting so long and placed it gently in her suitcase.

She had just got into bed when Bruno phones her and says hey baby how you doing, how has your day been and have you eaten and she replies i'm fine babe, today went well and yes i've eaten and asks him are you ok, hows it going in the studio.

He replies i'm good now i'm talking to you and it's going well in the studio.

She's glad and replies that's good but your not doing all work and no play are you and she smiles and laughs when he replies singing, my baby don't play with me, because she's in NYC and when i'm not working, i'm all home alone and our bed is so lonely whoa whoa whoa, I can't wait til you get home.

She shakes her head when he's done and says cute babe real cute but you are not home alone you have Geronimo to keep you company who can more than fill my side of the bed and says look why don't you have a boys night out or play ball or have a poker night with the guys, hell do it all babe and have fun.

She smiles when he replies yeah maybe but I only wanna have fun with you boo c'mon now you know that and she replies well until I get home it's the guys and your family for fun and she sighs and says I love you and really miss you, you make me smile and laugh and he replies I love you and miss you too, and I don't feel like smiling or laughing while your away unless i'm talking to you, it's lonely here without you baby I really can't wait until you get home on Sunday.

She fell asleep not long after getting off the phone with Bruno thinking about him and the sweet child who gave her a paper flower.
