[7] Bonding

Kagami and Team 10 sent the scroll on its way safely and returned to Konohagakure early the next day after spending the night resting. Kagami had spent the night staying up trying to convince Shikamaru she is uninterested in anything he had to say, but truth be told she found Nara quite interesting.

She had always wondered how they passed the knowledge gene from one generation to the next without fault, she always though your genes didn't matter. But spending time with Team 10 proved her wrong, their genes mean everything to them. From clan jutsu's to family hair cuts.

Kagami herself, after thinking about this concept started to think about her heritage. She had heard a lot about her 'traitorous' father, the 'White Fang' in the base of Orochimaru but never found out why he was a traitor.

Feeling like she was being denied important information she decided to ask her brother once she gets 'home', a way to follow out with this 'bonding' the Hokage was talking about.

As Kagami walks through the gate of Konohagakure she is stopped by a masked Anbu. She mental groans but acknowledges his presence anyway.

"What do you want? I'm currently finishing of a mission." She says, staring at them through the tiny eye-slits in the mask.

"The Hokage has asked for your presence in a meeting that is taking in his office 10 minutes from now." The Anbu replies.

She nods and continues on her way.

'Are these people dumb? I was on my way to his office anyway, can't they wait 30 seconds?'

'Kagami I'm trying to sleep.'

Kagami huffs but doesn't falter from her path. She walked straight up the Hokages office door.

"Come in Kagami." The Hokages voice reaches her ears before her knuckles were even raised towards the wood.

She opens the door and steps in silently. She quickly bows to him, "Lord Hokage.'

"Kagami sit down and wait for the others, you are to report any information about Team 10 and their final testing, I want to know how capable the new generation is." Kagami bows her head to him before sitting in the front row.

The Hokage snickers a little from his desk.

"What is it Lord Hokage?" She asks.

"Well, it's just where you are sitting is where Kakashi normally likes to sit, siblings intuition I guess." Kagami shivers a little bit decides not to move.

'If he wants this spot, he can fight for it.'

'I. Am. Trying. To. Sleep.'

'Oh I'm sorry your highness.'

Kagami then blocks her from biting back at her, not wanting to get ink a fight with Yua and missing important information.

The door opens and people trickle in slowly, Ibiki Morino walks in and stares at the spot Kagami is sitting on.Kurenai and Azuma walk in at the same time.

They both slightly fault but silently continue towards their seats on Kagami's left.

Within a few seconds everyone due to be in the meeting is in the office and seated.

Apart from Kakashi.

"Toad, please inform Kakashi Hatake that he is being missed." The Anbu that has been standing silently behind the Hokage disappears, the window making a small, almost unnoticeable click.

"Hm, Kagami you can fill in Kakashi later."

"Yes Lord Hokage." She replies quietly.

"Now, I have been informed that there there will be an open-to-public trial of an A-Rank criminal that was captured around a week ago. It will take place in the arena. Because the public is allowed to watch, need each of you to be stationed around the arena strategically in case there is a break in."

He looks down at the file in front of him as Kakashi appears on the floor next to her.

"Good afternoon Kakashi." The Hokage says to him as he reads over the file.

"I caught up—"

"In the path of life—we all know." Kagami couldn't help but smirk as the Hokage indirectly makes fun of her brother.

Suddenly the Hokages eyes widen.

"It says here; as normal that Ibiki will take the trial. But down here is say that Kagami—you captured the criminal on a solo mission."

"Yes Lord Hokage, the same day I was moved from Root to Black Ops." She replies.

"Hm, but that was over a month ago, it would seem Danzo has been holding him in secret." The Hokage leans back in his chair.

"Dismissed, Ibiki and anyone in charge of a Genin team stay behind." No one speaks as they all file out.

Kagami is about to leave when the Hokage calls to her.

"Kagami if I am correct your summons is still under Danzo?"

"Yes Lord Hokage."

"Summon him for me."

Kagami continues to stare at the Kage as a 'poof' sounds next to her. As the smoke clears it shows the wolf with a large piece of meat hanging out of his mouth.

He freezes as he looks at the Hokage. Kagami's flat palm appears in front of the wolfs face. He sighs and places the meat on her palm. He bows.

"Lord Hokage."

"Hello Masaru, if I am correct you have been watching Danzo for us?"

"Correct."

"Now, did you know that he has been holding criminals in prison for long periods of time before informing us?"

"Yep, he's holding about 4 right now. He believes 'Hiruzen does not need to know what happens in Root. As it is my army.' His words not mine." He says, laying down.

"Only the current Root Captain knows, it seems Danzo never trusted Kagami with the information." Kagami shifts uncontrollably.

"Hm, it seems so."

"Lord Hokage do you want me to call some of my men to do an inspection?" Ibiki speaks up.

"No, he will know he has a spy in Root, we need to be calm about this. Masaru keep an ear out, the rest of you, do not trust Danzo and stay away from any Root members during the trial. Kagami you especially stay clear of him." They all nod.

"Kakashi and Kagami I got a complaint." Both of them groan.

"Sakura Haruno and Naruto Uzumaki believe you should have Anbu watching so you make it to training on time." Tick marks appear on their foreheads.

The Hokage looks down at the note in his hand. Kurenai and Azuma were covering their faces, trying not to laugh. Even Ibiki's smirk was larger than usual.

"Also Sasuke Uchiha believes Kagami needs lessons on how to speak." Another tick mark to Kagami's fore head.

'Go die in a hole.'

"Sakura Haruno also thinks you need lessons on manners."

'Useless can go learn some herself.'

Kagami's face darkens considerably.

"Oh and Ino Yamanaka—" Azuma chokes on his cigarette. "Believes Kagami needs to get lessons for her hearing and that Kakashi needs to be less lazy."

The group watches as a tick mark sticks to each fore head of the siblings.

"Choji Akimichi believes you are both exemplary Shinobi."

Kagami's face almost lightens, but Masaru let's a laugh out at this. But he quickly shuts his mouth as Kagami hits him into the ground. By this point Azuma was slowly stepping away.

Kakashi and Kagami turn to him at the same time.

"Don't. Move. Sarutobi." Kakashi's voice darker than usual, but Azuma was too scared by the look on Kagami's face to notice.

"Shikamaru Nara, thinks writing this complaint is a drag, but still thinks Kagami should make friends. Kiba Inuzuka thinks,"

Kurenai starts to back away to Azuma, but Kakashi's hand lazily grips onto her shoulder.

"That Kagami is getting special treatment. Shino Aburame writes the word 'abusive'. And Hinata Hyuga thinks Kagami is very nice and is a good friend."

"I'm going to kill the Inuzuka. First he.........."She mumbles off so no one could hear her.

"First he what?" Kakashi asks his sister.

"Nothing." She says, a dark aura surrounding her.

"And that Uchiha." She fumes.

"Kagami, can I have my meat back?"

"Masaru if you want to live you better shut your mouth and run."

The two siblings are walking home silently, after hiding and throwing kunai at the teams, scaring them.

"Kakashi?"

"Hm?" He looks down at his sister from his book.

"While on my mission someone said something about haven't a 'traitorous coward of a father'. Who was our father?" She asks as they come to their apartment door.

Kakashi sighs and sits down on the couch, patting the spot next to him. Kagami complies and sits down next to him.

"Our father was the White Fang, a respected and strong shinobi," As Kakashi continues with the story Kagami stays silent.

She can't believe the stupidness of this village. How hard is it to think at something from a different angle, would you let your best friend get killed? Kagami should think not.

"Then one day, he never came out of his. I left him alone, thinking it was because he couldn't stand the people in the village, but no noise came from his room. So I forced the door open an—and.... he wasn't with us an—anymore." Kagami couldn't help but let a tear run down her cheek.

She wipes it away and sniffles quietly, but because of silence in the apartment, Kakashi could clearly hear it. His head snaps to his sister and stares at her.

Emotions other then annoyance and anger are rare for the girl. He reaches out and hugs the girl silently. At first she stiffens but ends up melting into him.

Falling asleep on the couch together wasn't the worst idea. As they had no real bond with each other.

Until Masaru wanted to join.
