Chapter 6 Shards of the Master (Timeline 573)

TIMELINE 573 – Divergence Index: 12.91%

A metallic dusk settled over the multiversal fringe, clouds pulsing violet where the Path to Deicide sliced open new horizons. This time, the hunt began with a tactical divide.

1 | Two Roads, Two Monsters

SL4SH and Fatal Error clasped wrists, then stepped into separate rifts—one west, one east—each vowing to bring back a weapon fit for killing gods.

2 | Fatal Error vs. Satanos

Black‑iron catacombs echoed with laughter that tasted of brimstone. Satanos—a horn‑crowned hedgehog bathed in embers—beckoned Fatal closer with mock devotion.

The "blessing" became a blade swipe; Fatal caught it on glitch‑hardened claws. Sparks, claws, and hellfire lit the tunnel until Satanos lay smoldering, grinning through fangs.

Fatal Error: "I'm recruiting for a false‑god slaughter." Satanos (panting, intrigued): "Fine. Your crusade just found its devil."

3 | SL4SH vs. Fleetway Sonic

Across the realm, a carnival of neon nightmares spun around Fleetway Sonic, who demanded a race‑to‑the‑death. Loops of razor light and telekinetic rings howled until SL4SH outmaneuvered Fleetway's own momentum, pinning him with a crimson blade at his throat.

SL4SH: "We're hunting someone who thinks he's untouchable. You'd fit right in." Fleetway (eyes blazing gold): "If it ends in screaming, count me double in!"

4 | The Recruit That Wouldn't Break

Back together, the trio targeted Hazy Gaze Sonic.exe—a spectral glitch in a forest of static trees. One look into his refracting gaze twisted gravity; words melted.

Not worth the timeline bleed. SL4SH sliced a retreat portal, and they escaped dripping with corrupted fog.

Fatal Error (spitting fragments of code): "Next."

5 | Enter the Realm of Duke

Duke—a crimson Knuckles variant crowned by the Master Emerald—ruled a molten canyon wreathed in storm. Just before the incursion, Fleetway vanished, promising, "Back in a flash—literally."

Duke split the invaders at rift‑entry:

SL4SH plummeted into a geo‑prison of emerald shards.

Fatal Error landed in a valley of thrumming pylons swarming with mech‑drones.

Satanos woke between lava rivers patrolled by stone golems.

6 | Convergence of Fire and Code

Fatal Error shredded his drones, then surge‑hopped pylon to pylon until he located Satanos mid‑brawl. Devil and glitch fought back‑to‑back, reducing rock titans to volcanic glass.

SL4SH shattered his emerald cage, carving the final two lieutenants—Ruby Raptor and Onyx Ogre—in a single spinning arc.

Trails of molten rock and residual code converged at Duke's obsidian dais.

7 | Master Emerald, Interrupted

Duke roared, siphoning emerald light—muscles surging with divinity. Just as the gem's corona flared—

—Fleetway Sonic flash‑blurred in, cackling, grabbed the Master Emerald like a beach ball, and fast‑balled it into orbit. The sky swallowed green fire; Duke's power‑up ritual flickered out.

Duke (snarling): "Thieves!" Fleetway (shrugging mid‑hover): "Should've put a leash on it buddy."

8 | Words Before Deicide

The quartet advanced, shadows overlapping in the molten glow.

Satanos (flame curling from horns): "Your throne melts beneath true hellfire."

Fleetway (grinning feral): "Race ya to his last heartbeat."

Fatal Error (voice of grinding servers): "False divinity detected—purging."

SL4SH (raising crimson blade): "You held power, Duke, but never worthship."

They circled, sparks and wicked smiles reflecting in Duke's panicked eyes.

All Four (one heartbeat, one verdict): "TO DEICIDE!"

Fireburst, speed strike, glitch rend, and killing slash hit as a single, perfect chord. Duke's roar cracked, embered—and died with him.

9 | Intercut – The Prime Approach

In the Prime Timeline, Fatal Error traced the newborn fracture from Duke's demise, its coordinates overlapping previous signatures—closer, clearer.

Fatal Error (soft, sinister): "The maze is ending... and your gods are running out."

10 | Behind the Curtain

Unseeing, Vagrent initiated TIMELINE 674. Slait fine‑tuned narrative risk.

But in the grid's far corner a faint, foreign glitch blossomed—Prime Fatal's echo breaching the firewall of their control room.

The hunters and the architects now shared a horizon destined to shatter.
