Chapter 4: Ashes of Timeline 529

TIMELINE 529 – Divergence Index: 4.77%

A carrion‑red dawn bled over the shattered highways of Nowhere City, painting the rusted billboards with warnings no one could read. In this broken universe, divinity wore the face of a pyro‑daemon named Diablo—and he had already set half the planet ablaze.

Yet five god‑killers were coming for him.

1 | Majin

They began in the Static Carnival, where Majin Sonic lounged on a carousel of broken televisions.

SL4SH hated every inch of that place—the clownish laughter, the warped neon eyes—but Fatal Error insisted Majin's sheer unpredictability could cripple Diablo's fire logic.

SL4SH (aside to Fatal): "If he turns on us, I'm deleting you next." Majin (overhearing, grinning wider): "Oh, the tension. Delicious."

The pact was uneasy, but sealed.

2 | Luther

Next they ripped through the Megachurch of Forgotten Code to find Luther—a penitential AI in cracked golden armor who once preached pacifism until a god burned his flock alive.

He knelt amid broken pews, whispering a prayer the universe no longer answered.

Fatal Error: "You still believe in mercy, priest?" Luther (standing, visor scarred): "I believe in justice. Today, the sermon is flame."

He joined without hesitation.

3 | PM Sonic

Deep in the Eggdome, PM Sonic banged on a glass cylinder—miniaturized and trapped within PM Eggman's titanic palm‑mech.

It took three minutes, two detonated reactors, and Majin's disembodied laughter echoing through ventilation shafts to free Sonic. SL4SH sliced open the mech's fingers; PM Sonic blurred out, saluting mid‑spin.

PM Sonic: "Owe you one, edge‑lord." SL4SH (smirking): "Repay me by outrunning hellfire."

4 | Cyclos.IOS

Believing raw sky‑hacker prowess could counter Diablo's weather‑scale flames, SL4SH tried to draft Cyclos.IOS: a storm deity wrapped in turbine wings.

But memories of an ancient feud boiled Fatal's code. Words became claws. Lightning crossed glitch‑spores. The duel cratered the cloud‑platform until both combatants wheezed, exhausted.

SL4SH (to Majin, quietly): "They'll kill each other before Diablo ever sees us." Majin (licking his lips): "Should I snuff the storm or the glitch?" SL4SH: "Both."

A flicker—two neck‑snaps of reality—and Cyclos dissolved into 404 dust. Fatal glared but said nothing; the mission clock was ticking.

5 | Hunt in the Wastes

The Scorch Wasteland stank of melting silicon. Diablo's molten footsteps had turned freeways into obsidian rivers that reflected his towering, horned silhouette.

He loved games.

So he proposed one.

Diablo (voice like a furnace door): "Hide and seek, little sparks. I ignite; you scatter. Survive me—if you can."

He vanished, dragging the sun with him. Night fell, full of hunting fire spirals.

6 | Burning Stagecraft

Flames rose and receded, each surge revealing a new torment:

The Singer—a charred diva belting opera that liquefied air.

The Dancer—bones clicking castanets, summoning fire vortices with each pirouette.

The Gunman—a skeletal outlaw firing molten lead.

The squad split:

PM Sonic looped sonic booms around the Singer, shattering her burning lungs.

Majin matched the Dancer step‑for‑step, then bent reality so her final twirl spiraled inward, consuming herself.

Luther crossed/blocked bullets for SL4SH until the Gunman's gun turned white‑hot; Fatal Error seized it, twisted it into a spear, and impaled its owner.

Undead embers hissed out. Diablo roared displeasure—"CHEATERS!"—and exploded upward, skyscraping inferno wings unfurled.

7 | Turn the Fire on the God

The Plan—whispered during fleeting cooldowns—relied on Diablo's pride. They forced him higher, higher, until searing thermals birthed a self‑feeding flame cyclone. Then:

Majin folded reflections of the vortex, turning it into a mirrored labyrinth.

PM Sonic drilled lightning‑fast holes through every mirror, venting oxygen.

Luther invoked a null‑sermon, sanctifying the mirrors so flames obeyed only truth.

Fatal Error redirected Diablo's own heat values, sending 100% backlash.

SL4SH anchored the core sigil and drew the sword across it—closing the circuit.

Fire met fire. Diablo's body became pergament; his howl, pitch‑forked by feedback, melted into raw plasma.

He crashed onto crumbling asphalt—ribs smoldering, charred crown dim.

8 | Words before Deicide

Each champion stepped forward, smoke swirling like funeral incense.

Luther (softly): "You set holy ground aflame. Today, the creed judges you."

PM Sonic (hands on hips): "Fast enough to outrun your apocalypse, slow enough to watch you fail."

Majin (leaning close, whisper‑giggle): "Burned your own playground, silly devil. Who laughs now?"

Fatal Error (voice like grinding servers): "Another false god. Another line of bad code."

SL4SH (lowering the blade): "Your worship ends here... in ash."

They raised their weapons, eyes meeting.

All Five (unison, thunderous): "To DEICIDE!"

Steel, claws, energy, and speed converged in one incandescent slash. Diablo's scream fractured into sparks—and was gone, a failing ember on the wind.

9 | Intercut – The Prime Hunt

Elsewhere—Back in the original timeline...

Fatal Error strode across a hush‑bright datacanyon, tracking ghost‑pings that smelled of design. Each slain god left a fingerprint; the prints formed a trail.

He knelt, brushed shimmering code‑dust from the air.

Fatal Error (low, determined): "Closer..."

Somewhere beyond the haze, he heard distant laughter—two voices, Vagrent and Slait—plotting the next timeline's fall.

He rose, eyes blazing.

"I'm coming for you."
