Chapter 3: Echoes of the Divine

01:52, 24 June 2025

The light of Xenophyte's shattered domain faded like a final breath—cold, crystalline, and absolute. In its place, the world reassembled itself: fragments of cyberspace patching together a neutral zone where code didn't bleed and time didn't scream.

The battle was over.

But no one walked away untouched.

1 | A Moment to Breathe

SL4SH leaned against a flickering data-wall, hand pressed to his arm where the pain hadn't yet faded. His blade, still warm from the final strike, rested in the dirt beside him.

Majin sat cross-legged atop a broken circuit monument, humming something unsettling but calm. Requital was silent as always, fingers tracing the faint scars left by Broken Metal Sonic.

Fatal Error was pacing.

For a moment, no one spoke.

Then:

Requital: "We did it. The god is dead."

Majin (grinning): "How poetic."

Fatal Error: "It was inevitable."

SL4SH: "It wasn't fate. It was a choice."

They nodded. Battle-forged unity lingered in the silence.

But even unity had its ends.

2 | Farewells

Requital (stoic): "I'll return to the fractures. Some still carry echoes of Xenophyte's voice. I'll erase them."

Majin: "Heh... back to my playgrounds. So many games left unfinished."

Fatal Error: "Wait."

The others turned.

Fatal Error (to SL4SH): "Before you go—meet me where we first clashed. There's something I need to say... just to you."

SL4SH studied him.

"Fine. One last glitch."

And with that, the circle broke.

3 | Truth in the Void

The old battleground was still there—ruined, burned into digital earth by their opening clash. A shrine to chaos. A birthplace of deicide.

SL4SH arrived alone.

Fatal Error stepped forward from the shadows, as if he had never left.

Fatal Error: "This... this wasn't by chance."

SL4SH (confused): "What do you mean?"

Fatal Error (quietly): "We were meant to meet. Someone designed this. Pulled the strings. Gave us a goal. A target. A name. Xenophyte."

SL4SH's eyes narrowed.

"So, you're saying we were placed on the Path to Deicide?"

Fatal Error: "Exactly. And now... I'm going to track down the ones responsible. Whoever—or whatever—they are."

A beat passed.

SL4SH: "Then I guess this isn't over."

Fatal Error: "Not by a long shot."

They clasped wrists—not as rivals, but as co-survivors of god-killing.

Fatal Error (turning away): "Stay sharp, SL4SH. There's more coming."

And then, he vanished—into code, into silence.

4 | Elsewhere...

In a dimension untouched by the battle, floating between timelines like a virus in a bloodstream, two beings observed a growing web of simulations.

Vagrent stood at a holographic display, monitoring thousands of echoes—each one a parallel scenario of the same divine hunt. SL4SH. Fatal Error. Requital. Majin. Different versions. Different outcomes. The same pattern.

Beside him, Slait drifted—masked and unreadable.

Slait: "So they succeeded."

Vagrent (smirking): "As planned. That was one branch. One spark."

He waved his hand, and the screens multiplied.

"Now... it's time to ignite the others."

Slait: "How many paths will it take?"

Vagrent: "All of them."

And with that, they activated the simulation grid—each world flickering to life, ready to walk the Path to Deicide once more... and again... and again.
