18:21, 27 June 2024You stood in front of the mirror tying your tie, letting out a heavy sigh as the past few days had been really rough for you. Every time you thought about your grandmother you would get emotional thinking about all the moments you've had together throughout your whole life, and now the woman who had watched you turn from a clueless child into a mature adult, was gone and today you would say your final goodbye to her.
Jenna walked over behind you and gently placed a comforting hand on your shoulder. You took a deep, shaky breath and felt a sense of reassurance from Jenna's presence. You turned around and gave her a small smile, which she returned.
Y/n: "Do I look presentable?"
Jenna: "You look more then presentable love, you look gorgeous"
Jenna reached up and gently fixed your shirts collar, smoothing it out before placing a gentle kiss on your lips.
Jenna: "Are you ready to get going?"
Y/n: "Yeah I guess so"
Jenna: "It'll be okay love I'm by your side, every step of the way"
Y/n: "Thank you"
Jenna: "No need to thank me"
You gave her a loving smile before taking her hand and leaving the house, getting into your car. You started the car and began driving to the funeral home. During the drive, you couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with emotions, your hand shook slightly as you gripped the steering wheel tightly. Jenna noticed this and reached over, gently placing her hand on your knee squeezing it comforting.
You glanced over at her and gave her a grateful look, feeling slightly more calm with Jenna by your side. After a few minutes, you arrived at the funeral home and parked the car. Taking a deep breath, you mentally prepared yourself for what was to come.
You and Jenna got out of the car and made your way inside. As you walked inside, you were met with a sea of people dressed in black, all offering their condolences to you and your family. You made your way to the front of the room where the casket lay, adorned with flowers and memories of your grandmother. You felt a lump form in your throat as you laid your eyes on the casket, your heart filled with an overwhelming sense of sadness. Jenna placed a supportive hand on your back, standing by your side........As the service began, the priest read a beautiful eulogy about your grandmother, highlighting her kindness, generosity, and unconditional love. As he spoke, you couldn't help but reminisce about your grandmother and the memories you shared. After the eulogy, family members were each given the opportunity to step up and say a few words about your grandmother with you being the last. As you approached the podium, your heart beats racing in your chest. You took a deep breath and began to speak.
Y/n: "My grandmother was the epitome of kindness, warmth, and unconditional love. Growing up, she was always there for me, supporting me through my good times and bad times. Her presence was a constant source of happiness and peace in my life, and I feel lucky to have had her as a role model and mentor. She taught me valuable lessons that I will carry with me forever, including the importance of family, compassion, and forgiveness. I feel grateful for the time we had together, and I hope to honor her memory by living a life infused with the same love and positivity that she brought to me and so many others. I'm going to miss her every single moment of every single day. She was my rock, my pillar of strength, and my biggest fan. I'm going to miss her bright smile and her loving embrace and even though she's gone physically, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew her and loved her. She left behind a legacy of kindness, love, and compassion that will never be forgotten. I will forever cherish the memories we shared and the lessons she taught me. I love you and I miss you grandma"
You finished speaking, your eyes red from crying but filled with a sense of closure and acceptance. You thanked everyone for coming and left the podium, making your way back to Jenna who was waiting for you with open arms. Jenna wrapped her arms tightly around you, holding you close. You felt an overwhelming sense of comfort and support in her embrace. You buried your head in her shoulder.
Jenna: "I'm so proud of you for being able to say what you wanted to say"
Y/n: "Thank you bb, I truly didn't think I could do it"
Jenna: "And yet you did"
Y/n: "I did didn't I"
Jenna: "Yeah you did love, you did your grandma proud, I know you did"
You pulled away from the hug as you let out a small smile while still having some tears in your eyes as you looked at Jenna. She wiped away some of your tears and gave you a soft smile before placing a loving kiss on your lips.
The kiss was filled with love and comfort and you felt a sense of peace wash over you, knowing that Jenna was there for you. You pulled away and Jenna took your hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.
Jenna: "Are you ready to head home now love?"
Y/n: "Yes, but I'll go say goodbye to my parents first"
Jenna: "Ok love, I'll wait in the car"
You nodded and gave her a small smile before making your way to find your parents and say your goodbyes. After a few minutes, you had finished saying your goodbyes and you walked out to the car where Jenna was waiting. Once you were both in the car, you let out a heavy sigh, as you let your head fall back and rest on the headrest and closing your eyes. Jenna reached over and grabbed your hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.
Jenna: "You okay love?"
Y/n: "Yes, just tired that's all"
Jenna: "Try and relax, I'ma get us home safe"
You nodded. Jenna releases your hand and starts the car, carefully pulling out of the parking lot and starting the drive home. As she drive she would sneaks a glances at you , making sure you were okay.
Your head was now resting against the window, your eyes still closed as you tried to relax your mind and body. Jenna could tell that you were tired, both physically and emotionally and she wanted nothing more then to just get you home and into bed so you could rest and feel better........The car ride was mostly silent aside from the soft hum of the radio, Jenna continued to sneak glances at you every now and then, her free hand twitching by the gear shift, wanting to reach over and hold your hand again but she resisted the urge, not wanting to disturb you from any rest you were getting. After what felt like forever, but in reality was only about fifteen minutes, Jenna pulled into your driveway and turned off the car. She looked over at you and gently spoke*
Jenna: "Love, we're home"
You slowly began opening your eyes and Jenna gave you a soft smile as you did so.
Jenna: "Come on love, let's head inside and you can lay down"
You nodded and slowly sat up and unbuckled your seatbelt, you the. opened the car door and stepped out, followed by Jenna who walked over and took your hand, gently leading you towards the front door. Once inside, you immediately walked over to the couch were Sam was sitting on and plopped down next to her with a heavy sigh, letting your body sink into the cushions.
Sam: "Welcome home you two...how was the ceremony"
Jenna walked over an sat down beside you.
Jenna: "It was very beautiful and heartfelt"
You nodded in agreement and leaned your head against the back of the couch.
Sam: "Wish I could have been there but instead I was stuck at work"
Y/n: "It's okay. I know you'd be there if you could've been"
Sam: "I know but still. I feel like I wasn't there for you when you needed me"
Y/n: "Sam, it's okay, don't feel bad, I know you couldn't get the day off"
Sam: "So you don't hate me"
Y/n: "Of course not, why should I?"
Jenna chuckled a little and spoke.
Jenna: "Of course she doesn't hate you, she's way too sweet to hate anyone"
Y/n: "That's not true I can be an asshole and hate people too"
Jenna: "Oh yeah? Name one person you hate"
Y/n: "Easy...my ex-girlfriend"
Sam: "Oh please we both know you don't hate her even if she cheated on you with your ex-boss"
Y/n: "I do hate her ... kind of"
Jenna: "Oh yeah real 'hateful' aren't you"
She teased you while you puffed out your cheeks, clearly not happy about Jenna and Sam's teasing.
Jenna: "We all know you can't hate a person, even if they turned your world into hell"
Sam: "Useless that intimidating height you have if you are like a big marshmallow sweet and soft...well sometimes"
Jenna snickered and agreed with Sam while you tried your best to glare at them, failing miserably.
Y/n: "I hate you both"
Sam: "You don't hate us"
Jenna: "You love us"
You crossed your arms and pouted more, knowing they were right but refusing to admit it. After a few moments of pouting, you sighed in defeat.
Y/n: "I hate that you're right... now if you excuse me I'm heading of to get some sleep"
Jenna: "Alright love, get some rest, we'll keep it down for you"
Sam: "Call for us if you need anything"
You nodded and gave them both a small smile before standing up and walking off to your room. Jenna watched you leave before turning to look at Sam as Sam began speaking.
Sam: "There goes our big teddy bear"
Jenna: "Big, cuddly, and sweet"
Sam: "More like a walking marshmallow with a scary glare"
Jenna: "I swear she tries so hard to be intimidating but she barely even comes off as threatening"
Sam: "Exactly, that's why people pick up fights with her, but little do they know she can easily beat their ass"
Jenna: "I know it's funny to watch, they think she won't do anything because she so sweet and then she just knocks 'em on their ass"
Sam: "She is as deceptive as a chihuahua except, she's actually tall"
Jenna: "God you're so right, she could definitely be compared to a chihuahua, except with her she has the height of a Saint Bernard"
Sam: "Or like an Irish Wolfhound"
Jenna: "Yes, the height of an Irish Wolfhound with the face of Saint Bernard with the personality of a chihuahua"
Sam: "You're totally right, she's a whole mix"
Jenna: "The perfect mixture of intimidating size, cuddly cuteness, and surprisingly mean when provoked"
Sam: "Agreed...changing topics tho, I'm practically done with the surprise birthday day party planning just need your approval in some things if that's ok"
Jenna: "Oh yeah of course, what do you need help with?"
Sam: "Let me go bring my laptop so I can show you everything"
Jenna nods and watches as Sam gets up and leaves the room. A few moments later, she returns with her laptop in her hands and she sits back down on the couch beside Jenna.
Sam: "Ok so this is the venue, it small but comes with everything such as decorations, mini bar, DJ, and food"
Jenna watched as Sam scrolled through pictures and details for the venue, nodding as Sam spoke.
Jenna: "It looks nice, what's the price tag like?"
Sam: "$1,500"
Jenna nodded, that was within the budget they had set for the surprise party. She let out a slight hum of approval.
Jenna: "Sounds good to me, what else you got?"
Sam: "The invitations"
Jenna: "Could I see what they look like?"
Sam: "Of course, their in my room, come on"
Jenna nods once again and stands up, following Sam to her room. Once inside her room, Sam walks over to her dresser and pulls out a small pile of invitations from a drawer, walking back over to show Jenna. Jenna looks over the invitations, a smile forming on her face as she studies their designs.
Jenna: "They look really nice, good choice"
Sam: "Thank you"
Jenna: "Do you have anything else you wanted me to approve?"
Sam: "In fact yes"
Sam smiled and walked over to her closet, opening it and pulling out a small white box and walking back over to Jenna. Jenna looked puzzled, she had a theory of what could be in the box but she didn't want to presume.
Jenna: "What's in the box?"
Sam chuckled at Jenna's curious expression.
Sam: "Just open it"
Jenna slowly opened the top of the box, peering into the contents of it. It was a wedding ring which caused Jenna to frown because she didn't know why Sam got you a wedding ring if Sam knew Jenna was your girlfriend.
Sam: "You think she'll like it"
Jenna's expression softened from a frown to one of confusion. She looked back up at Sam with a puzzled look on her face.
Jenna: "I'm sure she will but...why'd you get a wedding ring?"
Sam: "Oh no gurl it's not what you think...this was Y/n's grandmothers wedding ring, and since she was a very important person in Y/n's life, I decided to gift her something special"
Jenna let out a sigh of relief upon realizing what Sam meant, her momentary confusion being cleared now.
Jenna: "Thank god, you scared me for a second there, I thought you were saying you're going to propose to her"
Sam: "I could never, I wouldn't dare take her away from you even if I could "
Jenna: "And here I was thinking you were trying to steal my girl."
Sam: "Never, you can keep her"
Jenna: "Oh don't worry, I wasn't planning on letting go of her anytime soon"
Sam: "And I'm sure she would say the same, she's very much in love with you you know"
Jenna smiled at Sam's words, knowing very well that it was true. She loved hearing that you were in love with her, it made her feel happy knowing that you felt the same way she did.
Jenna: "Yeah, I know, I love her too, more than anything in the world honestly"
Sam: "What about acting, do you love her more than that?"
Jenna went silent as she paused to think about Sam's question. It was no secret that Jenna loved her job as an actress, and there was a point in her life where work would have come before relationships but now...
Jenna: "I do love acting but Y/n is more important to me, she comes first, I would give up acting in a heartbeat if it meant staying with her forever"
Sam smiled at Jenna's answer, clearly pleased that you were of more importance to Jenna compared to her work. Sam knew how much Jenna loved and enjoyed her job as an actress and for her to openly admit that you were her priority, it showed how serious Jenna was about your relationship.
Seems like your grandmother's funeral ceremony went well, everything for your birthday party has been approved by Jenna, and Jenna has proved to Sam that she loves you more than anything else in the world.
