Chapter 14

Nicki was sat in her room reading as there wasnt much else for her to do at that precise moment. She had been dicharged from hospital the other day after the situation at the hospital. She felt really bad for putting drake through the situation, but he understood that it wasnt her fault and thats what made it so easy from her to speak to him. She hadnt seen him in two days due to him busy schedule with work and collage but she hoped she'd get a chance to see him before the end of the week. She was distracted from reading by a knock on the door. She could already hear her mother heading to answer it. She finished te page she was on before closing the book and going to find out who was there. As she walked down the stairs the voice became familiar. She walked into the living room and her mother sat with her Aunt Siobhan and her little cousin Mylan.

Mylan: NICKI!!!

Nicki: Mylan! 

Mylan ran upto nicki and nicki picked her up. Mylan was 9 but was quite small for her age som people thought she was younger. They shared a tight embrace as their mothers just watched.

Nicki:I've missed you so much,My.How have you been 

Mylan: Good. I've missed you too

Nicki: thats good. hows school, have you been bahaving

Mylan: Good, and yeah

Nicki: have you 

Nicki side eyed her causing her too laugh.

Nicki: You havent have you 

She tickled her causing her to erupt in a fit of giggles.

Mylan: I have, I have, I promise

Nicki stopped tickling her and laughed herself causing their mothers to laugh too. Seeing Nicki like this made carol happy and just the thought that she could be feeling like breaking down in tear, but would put on a brave face made carol proud of her. She watched as Nicki put Mylan down before going and greeting her aunt. Once they settled down and spent a little while just talking about how everything was, they all went into their separate conversations causing nicki and My to spend time just being girly.

My: can i plait your hair nic

Nicki: sure! how about we got up to my room and we can spend the time doing girly things yeah

My: yeah

Nicki and Mylan made their way upstairs and they sat on her bedroom floor as Mylan took her hairbrush and started plaiting nickis hair as they talked.

My: so,i dont have much time left with you do i nic?

Nicki knew that mylan understoon everything that was going on with her well being and the sadness in her voice hurt nicki more than ever.

Nicki: no my. i wish there was something that we could do to change that but i cant and i guess thats just how its gonna be

My: so you're gonna be gone forever

Nicki: yeah 

Nicki sniffled as the tears threatened to leave her eyes.

Nicki: but lets not think about that. lets enjoy the time we have left

My: Yeah. so whos this guy in that picture

She spoke reffering to the picture of Nicki and Drake that was on a canvas above her bed.

Nicki: did you not see that the last time you were over

My: No, I don't think it was there

Nicki: well we were friends there. That's my best friend, well and boyfriend. He plays both roles

My: Aw, so is that the guy you're kissing there

Nicki: Yeah

She chuckled a little.

Nicki: he probably wouldve been here but he's at collage today. oh and that reminds me aren't you supposed to be at school today

My: maybe

Nicki: Mylan

Mylan: yes but I skipped the day so I could come and see you. I refused to go in

Nicki: aren't you a cutie

Mylan: will I get to meet him before we leave

Nicki: I'll try and get him to come over.

Nicki and My were sat in the living room watching TV as Carol and Siobhan sat in the kitchen. 

Carol: You know, I worry everyday what's going to happen to her. I can loose her at any second and I wouldn't even see it coming

Siobhan: I know. I don't even understand how hard it must be for you

Carol: you have no idea. but if anyone, I think Aubrey is having the hardest time. He is there for her whenever she needs him and he's the reason she stays strong. if it wasn't for him she would've left us months ago

Siobhan: I see theyre still best friends

Carol: They're a couple now. She fell for him and he fell for her. they both know where its gonna lead them but I guess it couldn't be stopped

Siobhan: yeah, I guess that's true

Nicki and My were watching reruns of american idol in the living room as they waited for drake who agreed to come and see them.

My: Nic where did you get that ring from

Nicki: This One?

My Nodded.

Nicki: It was a present from drake. its a promise ring, its like a wedding ring. you know the promise you make when you get married to stay together forever

Again, My nodded.

Nicki: its like the same thing but it was his promise to always love me and be there for me

My: aww, that's so cute

Nicki: I know right

They were interrupted by the doorbell going off. Nicki got up and bumped into her mother on the way to getting it. She gave her a suspicious smile

Carol: Aubrey?

Nicki nodded causing carol to laugh and shake her head before walking back to the kitchen where her and her sister watched as Nicki went to open the door. She found him stood there in his Black Skinny Jeans and white jumper with his white and gold timberlands. Nicki instantly jumped into his arms causing him to pick her up.

Nicki: I've Missed you so much!

Drake: I've missed you too baby, how are you?

Nicki: Good. I guess

he placed her back  on the floor before placing a kiss on her forehead and taking her hands into his. They walked into the house and Nicki closed the door before standing by the door to speak to him.

Drake: talk to me

Nicki: well like I told to I keep having points where I just loose feeling in my body completely and its just not nice

Drake: I know, how about the nose bleeds

Nicki: I Haven't had one since the airport situation and again I'm really sorry for that

Drake: don't be. Come on, I want to meet nylon just as Mich as she wants to meet me

Nicki: did you get me anything

He just looked at her and She looked back at him. He reached into his back pocket and took out a small white bear no bigger than is hand. she gasped.

Nicki: its soo cute

Drake: your welcome

she hit him on the arm before taking the teddy from him.

Nicki: I don't know what to name him

Drake: what if its a her

Nicki: I've decided its a him

Drake: Call it graham

She gasped again causing him to chuckle.

Nicki: yes! graham it is

He turned to look at My who was now stood by the living room door watching them.

Drake: And I'm guessing you're the famous Mylan aren't you little lady

She nodded as he walked over to her. He gave her a smile.

Drake: are you giving me the silent treatment even though you've only just met me

She nodded as a smile crept onto her face.

Drake: well you might just have to meet the tickle monster, or are you too old for the tickle monster?

he raised an eyebrow causing her to laugh.

Drake: well you're gonna meet him anyway

he tickled her causing her to erupt with laughter. Nicki just smiled as she watched the scene unfold. She looked at her mother and aunt who looked at her and smiled. Drake now stood with Mylan in his arms as she calmed down.

Drake: it shouldn't just be your cousin that recieves all the presents should it. would you like something too

She nodded. He reached into his back pocket and pulled out a lolly. Mylan smiled.

Mylan: Thank you

Drake: oh so you do have a voice

Everyone laughed.

Drake: your welcome princess

he placed her back on the floor before going to greet Carol and Siobhan.

Drake: Mother in law, Aunt in law. how are you both

Carol: hello, Aubrey. I'm fine thank you and yourself

Drake: I'm good thanks

Siobhan: Aubrey, its been a while and I'm fine thanks

Drake: it has. how's the family

Siobhan: they're great

Drake: good to hear. well I'm gonna go and join the girls in the living room

Carol: okay

he headed into the living room and sat next to Nicki as they watched TV. She laid her head on his shoulder before taking his hand into her and interlocking their their fingers...

Drake and Nicki were now at the park along with the rest of the crew. It was around 10pm so it was just them. Nicki was sat on the roundabout with drake next to her as it had no support and she sound fall off and hurt herself.

Noah: Have you guys heard about that new film Lucy

Courtne: Yes!!! I wanna go and see that

Drake: it looks good we should all go and see it

Nicole: we should. we can go tomorrow.

Drake: yeah, I'm up for it

everyone else agreed. Drake felt a light squeeze on his hand. He turned and looked and Nicki who's eyes were half closed. He had said to her to just squeeze his hand if she didn't feel okay.

Drake: are you okay

She nodded just slightly. He could see her breathing getting heavier. He made sure to keep and eye on her as he continued to join the conversation.

Abel: There's a screening for tomorrow at 8:30 pm

Everyone agreed that they would go at that time. Nicki was still being very quiet and he was starting to get worried.

Noah: are we gonna prebook tickets

Abel: we could do, I can get them now then you guys pay me back

Drake: I think we should cause that way we know we have them and its all set

Abel: Shall I get them

E/B: Yeah.

Ashley looked at Nicki then looked at drake and he just shook his head at her. The roundabout was about a metre off the floor and would be best described as a disk that spun around. He felt another light squeeze on his hand which caused him to look her.

Drake: do you wanna move

She shook her head.

Noah: so whats the storyline

Courtne: isn't it about a girl who gets given these drugs and the like affect her brain

Ryan: Yeah they unlock different parts of her brain and as the movie progresses she unlocks more parts which give her more powers

Nicole: the trailer makes it look like its really good

Ashley: I hope its as good as it seems.

Drake: Yeah, it better be because if its not then i-

he didn't get a chance to finish his sentence before he had catch Nicki. His hands were wrapped tight around her waist stopping her from falling off the roundabout. His heart was now beating quite fast due to the fact that she almost went flying off the round about. Everyone else was shocked by the scene and watched as he got off the roundabout with her in his arms and gently placed her on the floor. He also sat down and put her head on his lap as her eyes flickered open.

Drake: are you okay

she nodded. He took her hand into his and just looked up at everyone else who was watching the scene.

Drake: my pulse right now

He placed his hand on his heart as they all laughed, including Nicki.

Noah: Shit man, how did you catch her

Courtne: that reaction tho

They all laughed. He looked back at her and ran his hand through her hair.

Drake: you still out

she nodded again.

Drake: let me know when you're ready to get up

He kissed her forehead before they returned back to their conversation about Lucy. Nicki just let herself relax on drakes lap and also joined it the conversation with everyone else...
