Last Chapter
06:07, 20 September 2019I changed my mind and there won't be an epilogue so this is the last chapter. There's no inspiration for the epilogue since that was suppose to be the chapter where the bandanna boy is revealed but I decided against it due to the confusion that it would just cause. So this is the final chapter for Just One Day! Q&A at the end ^^
Song recommendation: Say Something - A Great Big World
_______________________
She peered at him, skeptically. Using her index finger, she pointed to herself while raising an eyebrow. "Me dancing?"
The male in front of her grinned, nodding his head excitedly as he finished tying the shoelaces of his shoes. It was up until now she had only realised there was a locked extra room. For the entire time, she thought it had been a simple storage room but one morning, when Jimin was up for his usual dance practice, Taehee had woken up extra early due to Honey's insistent barking. It was safe to say she was completely bewildered by the fact there was practically a dance studio in her home.
Ever since they had come back from promotions, the three boys had been using the dance studio to practice every chance they got.
Clean towels, shiny floor boards - all efforts to keep the room alive.
Dressed in her sweats and jumper, she glanced around the entire room. Spacious. It made her wonder, how did she not notice the space earlier. Quite some time had passed since she had come back to the house.
Jimin watched amusingly as Taehee gaped at every feature in the room. It was implied that he adored every part of her - from the way her eyes widened when it met a new part of the room, to how mouth slightly parted - to him, those little quirks were what made him fall for her all over again.
His persistence had grew and it had finally began chipping away her cold and brutal personality. He wasn't pushed away when held her hand or when he sat right next to her a little too closely. But of course, there was no physical contact beyond that.
"It'll be fun, come on." Jimin offered his hand to her as encouragement.
Without saying a word, she stared at his hand. After a quick moment of hesitation, she placed her hand on top of his, knowing that he wouldn't back down even if she rejected his offer. "J-just to put this in context, I'm only doing this because you'll just pester me if I don't!" She clarified, turning her head away as a blush began to seep into her skin.
Resisting the urge to laugh, he pulled her up and smiled at her. "I know."
He walked over to music player where his phone was plugged into. Swiping down his playlist, he scrolled through all his songs to find the perfect song.
"Can you dance to Hyolyn and Jooyoung's Erase?" He curtly looked over shoulder.
Briefly she paused before nodding slowly. "It's that song that came out recently right? The one that requires the chair." She stated rather than asked.
Jimin grinned, pulling out a chair from the corner and set it in the middle of the room. Taehee sat on the chair while he stood behind her, out backs facing each other. The music started playing and soon Jimin began spinning the chair around.
Naturally the two found the beat of the song and their movements were soon comfortable enough to be completely smooth. Somehow Taehee found herself enjoying the low beat of the song that was enhanced with the company of the unique female vocals. It was a sensual dance where they were usually closely pinned against each other.
The familiar yet odd touches gave her a sense of ease; it was like she knew the softness of his hands and the rich aroma of his cologne but she couldn't decipher it.
Jimin brushed his hand against her cheek, enjoying the closeness that he hasn't felt with her in so long. At least now he had a reason to hold her, still he just wished that he could touch her freely like he use to. Those small kisses that he peppered her in as he held her tight against his chest, thankfully that she was his.
When the song had reached the climax, the two once again had their backs facing each other and began to slowly walking away from each other.
The ending of the song made Jimin want to laugh; ironic he found it, undeniably ironic how the dance could describe their current relationship. He lied to everyone - including himself. The small distance between them had grown and only continued growing. No one ever mentioned it but, their relationship was dead the second Taehee had her accident.
She - they - would never be the same. The female did remember many things, her old demeanour did come to light but she was still different as well.
Cold, savage and horrifyingly the opposite to the one they had grown to adore.
You can't change a person, it was a harsh truth but the truth nonetheless. All a person can do is accept the changes and grow - that was life no matter who tried defying it. Wishing causes delusions that will only make you more miserable once you're in the real world.
Taehee smiled as she wiped the beads of sweat on her forehead with one of the clean towels folded on the table. Happiness bubbled in her stomach as she turned to wrap her arms around Jimin, dismissing the fact he was a little sweaty.
"That was so fun!" She exclaimed, grinning as their faces were barely an inch apart. Jimin who noticed the distance, was carefully not to lean in to capture her lips. The song in the background had changed into Just One Day. As soon as the song changed, Taehee finally realised how close their faces were.
Gazing in to his eyes, she surprised him but slowly shutting her eyes first before leaning in. His eyes widened as he practically got the 'okay' from her. He hitched a breath before shutting his eyes and slowly leaned closer.
The heat from their breaths could be felt on their faces as he cupped her face. He pulled her closer towards him, wrapping his arm around her waist as slightly lifted her off her feet. Hearts pounding against their chest as blood pumped throughout their body. It felt right at the time, caught in the moment people would say.
"Do you love me Kim Taehee?" She froze at his question as Jimin pulled away, leaving her lips untouched. He looked away from her, standing a short distance from her that felt too far. He chuckled, "cause if you don't, you will regret kissing me."
Taehee didn't answer and watched as Jimin picked up his towel, he wiped the sweat that had dripped down his face. "I'm going to wake up V and Jungkook so we can get ready for school okay? We can pick up your birthday cake after school and keep it in the fridge until tomorrow." He said, acting as if the two weren't just about to kiss spontaneously.
She just stayed quiet, her mouth gaped as her hand reached up to touch her lips. She was just about to kiss Jimin.
Before he left, he looked at her un-moving figure once more before calling out her name that she finally reacted to by looking up at him dead in the eyes. Jimin sent her a sad smile, "you know I love you right?"
Taehee stayed quiet for a moment.
"Yeah."
⋯☽ ⋯
V was the first to notice the lack of attention Jimin was giving to Taehee. His best friend was practically stuck to his sister after she was out of the hospital and had to be pried off of her by force, literally. So when Jimin chose to walk with Jungkook instead of Taehee, he knew something troubling had happened. V sighed, bringing his hand to hit his face before exhaling a long heavy breath.
These two and their love life - and they call me complicated. He thought to himself as he glared at both his sister who conversed with Solbi, and his best friend who was clinging to Jungkook, which was usual but regardless it was odd for him to not also be clinging to Taehee at the same time.
He remembered well, how troublesome he was in the past but at least there was someone who put him in his place.
When the group arrived back to their home, promptly after dropping Solbi off at the bus stop, V stopped the entire group from escaping to the room. He narrowed his eyes at the clueless couple as they avoided eye contact with him, clearly understanding that he knew something had happened between them
"So should we pretend that something isn't wrong or should I force it out of the two of you?" V asked, sounding more threatening than intended.
Jimin and Taehee shuddered at the same time and went pale as they thought back to the morning. The closeness of their breaths and how close they were to lightly brushing their lips together.
Taehee turned away, "I don't know what you're talking about." She lied.
Fiddling with her glasses frame, she didn't want to wear contacts due it moving around too often, Taehee averted her glance over to Jimin who was looking straight at her. "She's right. There's nothing to talk about because nothing happened."
Yet another lie. Something did happen, they just refused to talk about it.
And the main reason why the refusal for the conversation was killing Jimin, was that he didn't receive a reply to his question. Did she hold feelings for him.
Oh how he missed those times he was oblivious to their sweet and mushy feelings that everyone noticed. But now, he couldn't tell if she hated him or not. It seemed like it, seeing how she disliked being alone with him. She was fine being alone with Hoseok, Jin, Namjoon and even Suga, just not him.
There was another thing, why couldn't she remember him? She had remembered every memory of Namjoon when he broke yet another of her metal bowls. Frustrating, he knew there could be nothing done.
Their past together was now just a distant memory, forgotten by one and held on tightly by the other.
"You two really need to talk. I'm going to put the cake in the fridge but you two better make up before our birthday. I expect Jimin to be joined to the hip to you as you act like you don't secretly like it." V demanded, pulling Jungkook away from the awkward pair and then pushing the pair towards Taehee's bedroom.
Jungkook gave them a thumbs up, "come on hyung be a man! And noona stop being so stubborn!" He said, giving words of encouragement.
Now alone, Jimin and Taehee sat down in her room - Taehee sitting on the edge of bed, clutching onto her sheets while Jimin sat on the desk chair, drawing patterns on his palms with his index finger. A silence resided in the room, preserving it since none wanted to break it.
The sunset had brought rays of sunlight into her room, the slightly darken orange shining on Taehee's pale skin, defining every feature she had. Clusters of clouds slowly dispersing as the sun was sinking down.
Jimin sighed, finally deciding to speak first. "There's a reason right? Why you don't seem to be looking forward to remembering me?"
Silence.
Jimin expected it. She never spoke when put under pressure. But it just added to his frustrations and desire to understand why. Kim Taehee was now a complicated person who held more secrets to herself than before.
"I'm scared."
Jimin looked up surprised that she spoke. "Scared of what?" He asked, stopping his fingers from doing anything.
Biting her lip, Taehee replied, "that you'll be disappointed with me after I remember you. That I won't be that girl you fell in love with. I've heard how you talked about her, how you loved her and she loved you but I feel like I'm a separate person to the old me. Like how every time you say 'I love you', you're actually saying it to the girl that use to exist within me."
She looked down and that's when Jimin noticed spots of the bedsheets had darkened from large droplets of tears that had trickled down Taehee's cheek. She covered her face with her hands and sobbed into them.
"I feel like I ruined everything between us. I ruined what we had before I got into that stupid accident. Gosh I don't even remember how it happened, I was told I was talking on the phone and that was it. It's scary, my entire life was deleted in one go." Taehee laughed, letting herself freely cry.
Jimin couldn't comfort her, he would just make her cry more if he tried so instead he listened, to every fear that she had. He watched as she cried, tears dribbling her face in single streams and messily dripping on the bed. The bandanna was tied around her wrist like usual but slightly dampened. Moving onto the bed, he sat next to her.
He couldn't tell her, he was the reason why she got into the accident. He forgot that they had a date and he instead blindly agreed to go out with Jinae.
When she stopped talking to cry, Jimin took his only chance to speak.
"Are you in love with me?"
Her whimpering ceased and the tears stopped running down her face. Taehee moved her hands away from her face looked at him straight in his eyes before tilting her head to the side slightly with a smile spread across her face.
"I'm in love with you Park Jimin."
With those words, he pulled her into his arms so she could cry in his arms. A sweet taste was in his mouth as he could feel her sitting on his lap as she hugged him back.
When she had began to calm down, they sat by the headboard of the bed - Jimin was actually the one sitting by the headboard while Taehee sat between his legs, leaning her back against his firm chest. Their hands playing with each other as they sat together peacefully, no words required with the running feelings they felt.
Hours passed by in flying colours and there were a few minutes before midnight - before her birthday. Jimin pushed her off of him gently and forced them to sit facing each other.
Staring down at his watch, one minute to midnight. He inhaled and gave her a shy smile. "I'm sorry but I have a promise that I need to keep but feel free to just push and slap me afterwards." Taehee looked at him confused but before she could open her mouth, the long hand on his watch stuck 12 and Jimin placed his lips on hers - eyes closed and his hand cradling her face. She widened her eyes and felt familiar sparks.
"I just forgot to introduce myself, my name is Park Jimin. I'm the charm of Bangtan."
"There is one thing..." "Taehee I can't grant it for you if you don't tell me what it is," "For my birthday, at midnight I want you to kiss me."
That's when her head began throbbing again. Memories flooding into her mind, ones filled with pain, happiness and anger.
"I love you, Kim Taehee."
Slightly her eyes widened even more and tears began brimming in her eyes. She shut her glassy eyes slowly as a single tear drop trickled down her cheek, only to fall onto Jimin's grey shirt. Feeling that she began kissing him back and she could feel Jimin's lips, that were still attached to her, tugging up to a small smile.
They pulled away a few seconds later and stared at each other, tears continued falling down her face as he held her hands.
Crying again, she scoffed in her head.
Jimin began to panic as tears rolled down her cheek. "I'm sorry! It's just that I needed to keep the promise I made and please don't get mad. Here you can punch me if you like. Come on right square of the face!" He said, pointing to his cheek.
She began raising her hand and Jimin shut his eyes tightly, bracing himself for the impact but instead he met with her lips on his again. Before he could kiss back, she pulled away with the largest smile he has ever seen on her face.
"You kept our promise."
Looking at her blankly, he slightly parted his lips. "Wait if you know that I kept our promise then that means..." He gleamed immediately and tackled her into a hug. "You remember me!" Laughing wholeheartedly, she pressed her lips against his again and again.
"What's with all the commotion?" Taehyung asked, peaking his head through the door with Jungkook and the rest of BTS. They must've come over to wish them happy birthday.
"She remembers me!"
With that the rest of the boys cheered loudly, probably bothering their neighbours again. Jimin kissed her on her forehead before squeezing her hand. "Happy birthday Taehee, V."
He let go of her and got off of the bed to stand in between Jungkook and Suga. The boys all looked at each other before giving a curt nod. Sitting up straight, Taehee looked at them nervous and confused. But her curiousity was satisfied when the boys all grinned at her widely with their teeth.
'Bangtan's girl', they heard about the little nickname fans had given her, shortly after V twittered the photo of her along with the rest of the boys. And it really did match her because they knew, she was a sister, friend and a lover.
"Welcome back Taehee!"

Q&A
Who is the bandanna boy? Is Jimin not the bandana boy?The description of the bandanna boy actually matches perfectly with another idol, it's just up to you to figure out who. I can promise you that you should know the idol. So no Jimin is not the bandanna boy. There's also a very obvious clear in one of the chapters.
Why does Hani hate Taehee? It may seem stupid but the real reason why Hani hated Taehee was because she's intimidated by the fact that Taehee is Taehyung's sister, this for one can take away her status as the Queenka so by bullying Taehee, she can prolong her status. Yes this is a stupid reason, but sadly people do bully for less in the world.
How come Taehee still likes Jimin even after he practically chose Jinae over her in everything? Jimin and Taehee's complications is simply a way to show that their feelings for each other is real. No one is perfect and we will fail one thousand times a day but that doesn't mean we give up. Jimin is trying to make it up to her, Taehee is simply an open minded person and understands that Jimin is jealous person who can't properly control his feelings.
Was Hoseok in love with Taehee? No, Hoseok is actually in love with Taehee's childhood friend Eunha. I tried hinting that Hoseok did love Taehee at one point but decided that he would rather be friends with her than ruining her only friendship that she desperately needed. Also Hoseok was the only person who could allow her to communicate with Taehyung.
What happened in Taehee's past to make her do afraid of her father?Since BBND hasn't finished yet, this won't be revealed but you will need to read BBND if you want to know. The whole basis of BBND is based on the facts of Taehee's past with her father so I apologise for the inconvenience ^^
What happens to Hani and Jinae?Hani and Jinae move on. That's all they can do but a bully can't forget their past no matter how much they deny it.
Is there a specific order in reading your BTS series? Seeing that they're all connected somehow. The book order that you might want to read, this is according to the chronological order in which the story takes place, is:
《Bad Boy Next Door | V - completed》《Just One Day | Jimin - completed》《My Little Secret | Jungkook - completed》
LAST AUTHOR'S NOTE
I spent over one year working on this story and it's extremely satisfying to finally finish. I thought a lot about deleting this story at one point, mostly because I had lost my inspiration to continue writing but I'm glad I didn't stop. School mainly clashed with the time I could write but I always managed to squeeze in a small amount of writing time.
Thank you to my cousin who continued publishing chapters for me while I was studying for my exams. I've read every comment you readers have left and I can say with pleasure that I love everyone of you. The ending isn't great, I know but it's nice to have a happy ending especially after I finally finished my other story as well.
So many things have happened since I first started writing this, the growth of BTS has been great and I love the fact that they're getting noticed so before this single fangirl officially ends this fanfiction, let me say - thank you.
Also please support my new story 'Fade', it's a Seventeen one since I wanted to try writing for a group. There's also a really important note at the end of the foreword of fade.
See you next time,
Yunachi ♡
