CHAPTER - 22

Next day :-

It was nine in the morning and was raining heavily. Taehyung was going to jungkook's house. His car was in garage for service so he decided to go via bus.

Tae's p.o.v - i'm coming baby. I'll fix everything today. From now on all i'll care about is you only. I will give you all the love that you deserve baby. just five minutes more hmm just five minutes I'm coming.

Thinking this he was walking towards his house while grabbing an umbrella when he noticed some people were gathered around his house. He felt something not right but was too eager to meet and apologise to his bunny that he didn't pay much attention to it. He heard some people talking

? - wasn't he too young to die with a heart attack

? - yeah i heard that he was a heart patient but his father didn't even know

When he came near his house he heard some crying and screaming voices of a lady. Now this time taehyung started feeling some unknown burden on his heart , his feets were started trembling and hands were shaking as he was walking nearer and the voices were getting louder.

He was now at the main door of jungkook's house. He saw that there were so many people standing and the main door was open.

With those trembling feats he slowly managed to went in. He was praying for something not to happen. In those two minutes he prayed for around two hundred times to god that whatever his heart is telling him is not true.

Taehyung's p.o.v - no god please you can't let that happen. I beg you please. Please please. I'll do anything but please don't let that happen.

Praying this he entered the house but he felt like his heart has stopped beating when he saw jungkook's mom screaming and crying while hugging the lifeless body of jungkook.

Jungkook was lying there lifelessly , his lips were dry , face was pale. His dad was standing behind his mother looking at the dead body of his son with guilt and regret in his eyes. He throw the umbrella aside and without wasting a single second , taehyung ran towards jungkook and hugged him so tightly.

He cupped his face and said while sobbing

Taehyung - bunny bunny look i am here baby i'm back. Look at me kook just once look at me. KOOKIE

he screamed his name many times trying so hard to wake his bunny up. He looked at his father and asked

Taehyung - uncle why is he sleeping here? Look he is not waking up. Uncle tell him to get up please. You're his father right? i'm sure he will listen to you.

He grabbed mr. Jeons feets and said

Taehyung - please uncle i'm begging you wake him up please

Then he looked behind , wiped off his tears and crawled towards mrs. Jeon who was crying and said

Taehyung - don't cry aunty he is just sleeping. My bunny is just so tired that's all

Saying this he went to jungkook and tuck his hair behind his ear

Taehyung - wake up kook everyone is worrying about you , see your taehyungie is here

He was looking at his bunny when someone pulled him from behind separating him from his bunny. It was jimin

Jimin shouted - LEAVE HIM YOU DON'T DESERVE TO BE NEAR HIM JUST GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE.

Taehyung shaked his head in denial and muttered

Tae - no

Jimin - i told you , i told you that he needs you but you didn't listen to me. I told you that he is not okay but you didn't listen. Kim taehyung you're the murderer you killed him. HE IS DEAD BECAUSE OF YOU.

Taehyung covered his ears in denial and said while sobbing hard

Taehyung - no no no , my baby is just sleeping , he is just tired

Saying this he tried to go near jungkook but jimin pushed him aside and grabbed his collar

Jimin - are you happy now.

Taehyung while sobbing - please let me go to my bunny please

Jimin - get out of here before i kill you

Taehyung - kill me , kill me and i promise i won't let out a single hiss of pain from my mouth but please , please jimin i'll not leave him

Jimin - you bastard , if it wasn't for jungkook i would have killed you

Saying this he left his collar

Taehyung ran towards the dead body of jungkook and hugged him tightly while crying. He was mumbling thousands of sorry. He kept apologising for countless times.

Taehyung - bunny i'm sorry baby please open your eyes just once please.

For almost two hours taehyung's was sitting there while hugging jungkook's body. He was crying and asking him for forgiveness. He was not ready to leave his body.

Jimin wanted to beat him , he wanted to kill taehyung. But when he saw taehyung crying miserably he couldn't help himself but to go near tae and hug him tightly while rubbing his back. Taehyung cried his heart out in jimin's arm. While muttering multiple sorry to jimin for not listening to him.

Taehyung went to his home directly from jungkook's grave yard at night. Taehyung went to him room he was wet , his clothes were soaked in water as it was raining all day today , his eyes were swollen due to crying , his head was aching so badly. He closed the door and sat on the floor while hugging his knees , he cried , he cried until he passed out.

Next day :-

It was nine in the morning, and rain hammered the streets in relentless sheets. Taehyung’s car was in the garage for service, so he had taken the bus. The cold wet wind bit at his face as he clutched his umbrella, walking faster, heart thudding with anticipation.

Tae’s p.o.v - I’m coming, love. I’ll fix everything today. From now on, all I’ll care about is you… only you. Just five minutes… just five more minutes, I’m coming…

His feet splashed through puddles as he approached Jungkook’s house, but something felt… off. A small crowd had gathered outside. Whispers reached him, carried by the rain

? – Wasn’t he too young to die from a heart attack?

? – Yeah… heard he was a heart patient, but his father didn’t even know.

Tae froze mid-step. The world seemed to tilt. His chest constricted painfully. His hands trembled so hard he nearly dropped his umbrella. His heartbeat raced in his ears.

When he neared the house, a woman’s piercing scream cut through the rain. Tae’s stomach knotted, fear spreading through him like fire. His knees wobbled; his breaths became shallow, ragged.

He reached the main door. The crowd parted slightly, the door ajar. His trembling fingers grazed the wood before he pushed it open.

Tae’s p.o.v - No… please, no… god, please… whatever my heart is telling me, it can’t be true. I’m begging… please… please…

Inside, the world stopped.

Jungkook’s mother was on the floor, screaming and clutching his lifeless body. Jungkook lay there, pale, lips dry, unmoving. His father’s eyes brimmed with guilt and regret, staring at the ground.

The umbrella slipped from Tae’s hand. Without thinking, he ran, muscles taut, tears blinding him. He wrapped himself around Jungkook’s body, pressing his face to the boy’s chest, feeling the cold that should never have been there.

Tae (sobbing) - Bunny… bunny, look… I’m here, baby… I’m back. Look at me, Kook… just once… please… KOOKIE!

He screamed again, shaking him lightly, cupping his face with trembling hands. His shoulders heaved violently.

Turning toward Jungkook’s father, Tae’s hands clutched at his ankles.

Tae - Uncle… why is he… sleeping like this? Please… tell him to wake up. You’re his father, right? He’ll listen to you!

He looked back at Mrs. Jeon, wiping his face roughly with his sleeve before crawling toward her, forcing a smile through tears.

Tae - Don’t cry, aunty… he’s just tired… that’s all…

Returning to Jungkook, he brushed the hair from his face, whispering.

Tae - Wake up, Kook… everyone’s worried… see, your Taehyungie is here.

A hand gripped his shoulder roughly. Tae flinched—it was Jimin.

Jimin (shouting) - LEAVE HIM! YOU DON’T DESERVE TO BE NEAR HIM!

Tae shook his head violently, muttering through sobs:

Tae - No…

Jimin - I told you… I told you he needs you! But you didn’t listen. Kim Taehyung… you’re the murderer. HE IS DEAD BECAUSE OF YOU!

Tae covered his ears, shaking violently.

Tae - No… no… no… my baby… he’s just sleeping… he’s just tired…

He lunged forward, but Jimin pushed him away, gripping his collar.

Tae (pleading, voice breaking) - Please… let me go to my bunny… please…

Jimin - Get out of here before I kill you.

Tae - Kill me… kill me! I won’t make a sound… but please… please… I can’t leave him…

Jimin glared, then released him. Tae fell to his knees, crawling back to Jungkook, clutching him as if he could will him alive through sheer force.

Tae (mumbling endless apologies, voice raw) - Bunny… I’m sorry… please… open your eyes… just once…

For nearly two hours, Tae stayed like that, body pressed against Jungkook’s, sobs wracking him. He didn’t notice the rain outside, the wet clothes clinging to him, or the world moving around him. Jimin, watching, couldn’t bring himself to intervene. Slowly, almost instinctively, he stepped closer and wrapped Tae in an arm, rubbing his back as the boy cried his heart out, whispering apologies for not listening.

That night, Tae returned home soaked, exhausted, eyes swollen, head pounding. He closed the door behind him, collapsing to the floor, knees drawn tight to his chest. He cried until his body gave in, until sleep claimed him in a haze of grief and guilt.
