CHAPTER - 18
17:06, 2 September 2025Taehyung was finally free from his father. Relief should have filled him, but it didn’t. There was a weight on his chest he couldn’t shake. He should have been ecstatic, the happiest person alive—but for some reason, his heart still felt heavy, burdened.
He went to his room and collapsed onto his bed, tears streaming freely down his face.
Taehyung's p.o.v - Why, Koo? Why did you do this to me? I thought you really loved me. I’ve always had trust issues… but I trusted you, with everything I had. I hated the word love, but I still started to fall for you. Your doe eyes… your rosy lips… that mole under your lips… your cute pouts… your button nose… your whole bunny face… it made me feel things I’ve never felt before. And even today, my heart aches for you, still telling me to believe you… to believe a liar like you, Koo. But you betrayed me. You acted like you loved me just to take your revenge.
Tae pulled out two bracelets from his pocket, holding them tightly in his hands.
Taehyung’s p.o.v - I bought these… couple bracelets for us. I was going to ask you out for a real date tomorrow. But I was stupid… so stupid to think that true love exists. I mean, who would fall for his bully? Someone who insulted him in front of everyone… someone who punched him without a second thought. I know I deserved it. I was a jerk. I bullied you. But it hurts so much, Koo. Why this, bunny? If you wanted revenge, why not punch me in front of the whole college? You could have humiliated me, insulted me, made fun of me… done countless other things. But why this? Why go for my heart? I wish I could make my brain listen, but it’s not. This stupid heart… it still wants you.
Sunday :-
It was the last day of Taekook’s “fake dating.” Taehyung spent the whole day locked in his room, sobbing silently. His phone had been off all day—he knew he couldn’t act tough in front of his bunny, not after everything. He didn’t want anyone, especially the one who had betrayed him, to see him miserable.
On the other side, Jungkook was going insane. He had called Taehyung a hundred times since morning, but each call went straight to voicemail. Tae’s silence was tearing him apart.
By nine in the evening, Tae finally left his room for dinner and sat beside his mother.
Mrs. Kim noticed his swollen, red-rimmed eyes.
Mrs. Kim - What happened, baby? Your eyes… they’re swollen. Are you alright?
Tae (low voice) - Yeah… I’m okay.
Mrs. Kim - You told me you were studying, so I didn’t disturb you all day. But you don’t have to overdo it, hmm?
Tae - It’s nothing, Mom. Don’t worry.
Mrs. Kim - You have a whole month for your exams… don’t pressure yourself too much.
Tae - Hmm.
Mrs. Kim studied him closely, noticing the way he avoided her gaze, eating with his eyes fixed on his plate.
Mrs. Kim - You sure you’re okay?
Tae - Yeah, I’m fine. I’m sleepy… I’m going to my room.
Without another word, he left, not sparing his mother a glance.
Mrs. Kim’s p.o.v - He’s acting strange… I hope he’s really okay.
