Chapter 53 - Graduation
The day I had been waiting for was finally here. Most girls dreamed of their wedding day, but graduation day was what I had been dreaming of ever since kindergarten. It had been a brutal, insane, up and down road to get to where I was.
All of what I had been preparing for was coming to an end and now I was facing the real world. It was now or never. It almost didn't feel real to be where I was.
Rehearsal at the football field ended two hours ago, and now I was racing the clock to get ready. Having my room a mess was a challenge to get dress for the night. I wore a classic and simple tight dress under my purple gown. I had specifically bought silver colored high heels for my outfit tonight. It was a rare occasion to have myself in heels.
But furthermore, my hair was being a bother. If I curled one strand of hair, another curl would come undone. I was starting to feel like Alex when it came to using hairspray. However, with time, I successfully curled my hair.
My makeup was simple and didn't take too long, but the out pouring of text messages from Alex was dragging me down. He was nervous about tonight. He expressed it through the messages I was receiving. It was soothing to know I wasn't the only one who I was freaking out.
"Laila!" My father called my name. "You're going to be late!"
Quickly, I checked myself in the mirror, taking a few deep breaths in and out. "You can do this, Lai," I prepped talked myself.
I slipped my shoes on, nearly losing my balance from the height adjustment. Grabbing my purse, I left my bedroom and went down stairs. Derek and my dad were waiting down at the end, watching my every step as if I was about to leave to prom (which neither Alex nor I attend to).
"You look great, sweetheart." My dad complimented me after I reached to the last step.
"Thanks, Dad." I gave him a short hug with a small peck on his cheek. Pulling away, I faced Derek, who was dressed in a dress shirt and pants.
He slightly grumbled before giving me a hug. He was having a hard time accepting that I, his little sister, was going to be graduating. I didn't blame him. I was almost in denial just as much as he was.
"When's Alex supposed to pick you up?" My father asked, fixing his cuff to his sleeve. He wasn't too happy about my request to have Alex be the one to drive me to my high school, but the seniors were supposed to be there earlier than the parents for preparation purposes.
"He should be here any minute." I said. I checked my phone, but nothing had appeared on it, only the time and date.
Shortly, he did show up as we waited in the living room. The front door bell rung, causing a spike of anxiety rush inside me. I stood up from the couch, along with my dad, and we made our way to the door. Derek decided not to greet Alex.
I opened the front door, and there stood Alex in his graduation gown, his hair clean and freshly cut, and a bouquet of flowers in hand. He was smiling ear to ear, a dimple showcasing on his lower left cheek. He made my heart skip a beat at the sight of him.
"Greetings, Alex," My father shook his hand, a warm smile on his face as he did.
"Afternoon, Mr. Grey, how are you?" Alex politely asked.
"Good, Good." My father moved to the side, allowing Alex to walk in, and which he gave me a short kiss on the cheek and the bundle of flowers.
"These are for you," Alex shyly said. His cheeks were burning up.
The flowers were Daisies, one of my favorites. I gently smiled at them. "Thank you, Lex,"
My father cleared his throat, holding the door's knob in his hand. "Well, it's best if you guys don't be late," he said. "I'll see you guys later, it starts at seven correct, Laila?"
I nodded my head and gave my dad the flowers to hold before grabbing Alex's hand and leaving out the door. "See you then, Dad!" I called.
Finally, we got in his car. Alex let out a huge sigh of relief and entered his car keys into the ignition. His muscles seem to have relaxed.
"It wasn't too bad, baby," I chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. It was clear that he was nervous about having to be in the same room as my dad. However, I saw it as simple progress. Derek had finally come around to accepting Alex and I's relationship, and it was about time that my dad did too.
"It wasn't just that." he confessed.
"Oh,"
"Just graduation, there's so much to think about that I've been putting to the side. And now that I'm with you, I know things are going to be okay." He delicately smile, his right hand slipped out of mine and reached to the stereo's controls, hitting the CD button.
The music began to flow as we continued to drive down the road. The catchy beat and guitar rift hit my ears immediately, causing my jaw to drop at his choice of song.
"You're an idiot," I shook my head, turning the song up.
Only Alex would blast High School Never Ends by Bowling for Soup on our way to our graduation ceremony.
His wide smile brightened up the inside of the car. "What can I say? I have a pretty nice music selection." he responded.
The song fitted perfectly into our situation. Both Alex and I couldn't resist singing along loudly and obnoxiously to the lyrics, which sadly were going to become our true story. High school never ends, and everyone will still be obsessed with each other afterwards.
In a few minutes, we arrived and parked the car in the student parking lot. It was silent for the most part and I think both of us just knew; that this was it, there was no going back. We were saying good bye to our high school years, middle school hell, and short-lived elementary life.
Alex and I walked hand in hand through the parking lot. The chattering of our peers filled our ears. The excited squeals of best friends, the nervous laughs, and the joyful and emotion-filled cries surrounded us. The atmosphere was nostalgic, reminding me of almost every memory I had stored in my mind, some of them included Alex.
It wasn't until an hour later, when the cafeteria was filled with the entire graduating class. It was nearly turning into a hotbox because of everyone's heavy breathing. I sat next to Alex, who was next to Jack and Brenna. Rian and Zack were running late.
Jack had cleaned up nicely too. His skunk colored hair was slicked back neatly. He was also strangely quiet just like Alex, not a peep from the two who were usually the chattiest ones in the group.
But at this point, it didn't matter. It was coming close to the time we had to walk down to the football field, where all of our names would be called and we'll get our diplomas one by one with family and friends watching closely in the bleachers.
"Students! Students! Can I have your attention?" The vice-principal spoke through a megaphone. She was the one who was the coordinator for the ceremony. "If everyone in a calm state get into the alphabetical order like we practiced, please do so now. We will walk down to the football field once everyone is in place."
Alex and I nervously glanced at each other and obeyed the orders. It didn't take long for all of us to get in line. Everyone's impatient minds made it faster to assemble. And luckily, the girl who was supposed to be in between Alex and I decided not to walk tonight, which had allowed us to be next to each other; the perks with our last names beginning with the letter G.
Now, it was the final count down. My mind turned into goo and my legs were numb while my stomach tightened and turned upside down. I saw Alex in my peripheral, his forehead breaking a sweat. Why the idea of walking across a stage was such a nervous and panic-attack worthy event?
In an orderly fashion, as an entire group, we exited our high school for the last time and once for all. My hand was tightly in grasp with Alex and I wouldn't have wanted it any different. His hand was a tad bit sweaty, which reminded me he was mostly likely to be on the verge of a panic attack.
My thumb sweetly swiped across his, giving him a small piece of comfort to hang on longer. The sun was setting in vibrant colors just above the horizon when we walked through the parking lots to get to the opposite side of the end of the football field. It was a slow process with having a big line marching to one destination. The people behind of and ahead of Alex and I had remind silent and the sound of our fancy shoes clank against the pavement, and then soon grass.
The bleachers were filled with parents, friends, children, and relatives. As we continued to walk pass the pre-built stage, my eyes searched for Derek and my dad. However, the sun's blinding rays made it more than difficult and the screaming and clapping of the audience made it hard to even think.
Once we passed the stage where we'd be handed our diplomas, we sat in our designated seats, just as we practiced before. We attempted to settle down, but the chattering and small whispers filled the summer air. The wind picked up, which I had been thankful for. I was about to break a sweat in my gown from its thick material.
Alex sat right to me, and then a girl who I slightly knew sat left to me. Jack sat in the row in front of us. Rian was a few seats down in the same row as Jack. Fortunately, he and Zack made it in perfect timing, apparently their car broke down. Zack sat in the row behind us.
After singing The Star-Spangled Banner and a ridiculously long (and boring) speech by the principal, the valedictorian was introduced. It was Abigail Johnson. Her ginger curls bounced as she walked towards the podium and once she started to speak, I zoned out.
The ringing in my ears vacuumed out all sound and every nerve I had stored in my body turned numb and chilling. My legs gained goosebumps every time the wind hit them. My eyes trained on the evenly cut grass below my feet.
It must have been while when I zoned out because by the time I examined my surroundings, they began to call the first name to recieve the diploma.
My attention faced towards Alex for a second, whose legs were shaking up and down as his hands were trying to steady them; it wasn't quite working out for him. I softly smiled and nudged his rib cage with my elbow. "It's going to be okay, just another chapter in life." I whispered.
"That's not it," he lowly said.
"Then what is it?"
"My parents are here."
The beating of my heart had leaped. I wasn't sure how I felt about it, but it was clear how Alex did. I hadn't seen them since Christmas when Alex exploded on them with emotions, and now here they were at our graduation ceremony without notifying Alex, or anyone.
Alex deeply sighed and shrugged his shoulder. "I should have known they would come." he said. "I can't do anything about it now."
I chose not to say anything further and watched my fellow classmates be called one by one and dealt with the shouting of their parents and family in the crowd.
"Hey, Laila," Alex said with a smirk.
"Alex, be quiet, Jack is about to walk soon."
"You're speaking in front of all of us, you know." he pointed out.
Holy shit. He was indeed right. I've talked in public before, however that was when I was isolated enough where nobody could hear me, but here, around all of the senior student body, I had realized the girl who was sitting left to me was staring.
Her eyes were bulging out of her sockets from hearing me speak. I was almost positive my expression was the same too. It was almost unreal for me. A complete utter stranger heard me speak, and once I turned around, the row behind me, filled with other soon-to-be graduates were just as shocked as I was. I could hear Alex snarky chuckle next to me while I noticed everyone's surprised facial expression.
For their whole lives, they knew me as 'mute girl', and for the first time ever they had heard my voice. There was a weird tangling sensation rising in me. I had finally broken my silence and I was baffled and confused. There was no going back now.
"Jack Barakat!" The loud calling of his name pulled me back to reality.
The skunk color haired boy stood up, fixed his gown into place and began to walk fiercely towards the stage. He had earned a few laughs from the way his posture was. He acted sophisticated on purpose with every stride he took. His hand was promptly on his tie that was barely visible from being under his gown.
Alex, Zack, Rian, and Brenna began to holler once he walked the steps, and grabbed his diploma. His teachers probably thought they'd never see the day Jack Barakat would graduate high school, yet here he was.
Eventually, Jack retrieved back to his seat and more names were called. The sun was now fully set and night was settling in. The cooler air was refreshing and enabled me to breathe.
The speaker was gaining closer to the last names that started with G. Alex was going to be the first to go with his last name, and then me. I tried not to think about the fact everyone's eyes will be on me once my name is called but it was hard not to.
"It's you and me baby, no one else." Alex whispered into my ear. "It's not my future. it's not your future. It's our future, both of us taking down the world. I love you."
"Alexander Gaskarth!"
Alex immediately stood up and made his way towards the stage, leaving me absolutely stunned by his words. There was a big ruckus from his band mates, shouting his name and screaming random inside jokes. I decided to join in, cupping my hands around the edges of my mouth, I screamed his name in pure joy, in which he had heard me and winked directly towards me right after he received his diploma.
Then, the moment had come, my name was called; it ringed through the speakers of the football field and seemed to go on forever through my ears. It was like nothing else matter when I stood up. My smile was bright and ear to ear when I made it to the stage. I glided across the three steps and once I reached the principal, it felt like I was floating on mid-air.
I shook his hand firmly and with the other, I grasped the diploma I had been waiting for my entire life; the one that determined my future since day one. It was now a new chapter for me.
All too quickly, I was back in my seat. Alex leaned in for a kiss, pressing his lips against mine. The tenderness and sweet emotion filled my heart. I had never been so happy in my life.
"I'm so proud of you, angel." He mumbled against my lips. A small smile tugged on the corner of his mouth.
"I love you." I smiled. Warmness filled my veins and in that moment, I was truly happy. Every guilt, dead weight, and nervousness that once buried me down on my shoulders was lifted. I felt free.
Sooner or later, the time passed. Rian got his diploma and so did Zack and Brenna. Eventually the last student's name was called.
My heart pounded against my chest hard while we waited to hear the words we've been patiently waited enough for. While the entire crowd fell silent as the principal stood behind the podium, I savored the moment. The football field glowed from the multiple floodlights around, a crying baby sounded off in the distance, and the sweet smell of the summer air filled my lungs.
"Class of 2006, please stand up." Mr. Anderson called into the microphone.
Instantly, we all rose with big grins on all of our faces. All of our tassels on our caps had been moved from right to left.
"Parents, relatives, friends, and students, I hereby grant, Class of 2006, graduates!"
In a quick flash of a moment, cheers spilled in the air as I threw my cap into the air, along with the hundreds of others. An arm slid around my waist, pulling into his chest. Lips collided into mine; Alex passionately kissed my lips as a storm of celebration surrounded us. It was like time froze in the most cliché way possible. The clock was stuck on the given second, giving us all the time in the world.
Unexpectedly, He picked me up from the ground with his two arms hugging me. My hands cupped his jaw as I deepened the kiss with my tongue. The everlasting moment was surreal and life-changing. It was our first kiss into our new chapter, and nothing would ever rip that away from us.
We pulled away, laughter heaving through our chests as we did. The energy around us felt like no other. Family and friends from the bleachers had poured into the field to say congratulations to the former students.
I quickly grabbed Alex's hand and began to trudge through the crowded area, determined to find my dad and Derek. They had to be here somewhere.
"There," Alex pointed.
My eyes faced to where he was pointing, and there stood Derek and my dad lost and confused. I gently smiled at the sight and jogged up to them.
My body slammed into my dad, filled with happiness. "Congratulations, Laila, you earned this," he whispered in my ear.
I pulled away after a couple of minutes. His satisfaction was on displayed by his smile, wrinkles formed around his mouth and a spark in his eyes.
Next was Derek, his arms embraced me, along with a small kiss on top of my head. Once I released myself from him, I couldn't help to notice his eyes were coated in a thin layer of some type of glaze.
"Are you about to cry?" I teased him.
Derek faked laugh and scoffed. "No," he flat out said with a tiny sniffle. He did a poor job at hiding his emotion.
My dad had handed a camera to Alex, which indicated he wanted a family photo. It was rare when we took these. We either didn't have time or just didn't care, but with an event like this, it was important to my dad to capture it.
Derek stood on my right side while my dad stood on the left, leaving me to be in the middle. Alex counted to three, taking the photo as we all smiled.
My dad nodded his head in appreciation, and grabbed the camera back. "Alex, why don't you stand next to Laila? It's time to get a photo of you two framed in the house."
It was least to say that Alex was dazed by my dad's suggestion. His mouth held slightly opened as he nodded continuously. I was the same as him too. It was utterly unexpected from my dad.
'Yeah! Yeah, of course." Alex stuttered, and got in place next to me, keeping his arm hanging lowly on my back, our hips connected.
"On the count of three," my dad said, raising the camera into the air. "Big smiles! One...Two...Three!"
The flash went off right afterwards, completing the deal of a picture.
"Well, I'm sure you two have plans for tonight." My father sighed. "I'll see you later, Lai," he hugged me one more time.
"Wait, sir," Alex stopped my father's tracks. "What time would you like to have Laila back home at?"
My father shook his head. "Don't worry about it, son,"
Then, both he and Derek left the field, leaving Alex and I to do whatever we desired. It felt like a dream, like we weren't even here, but we were, and it made things so much better.
Next, Alex and I found the rest of the gang. Jack's mom took millions of group pictures. A picture of Jack, Rian, Zack, and Alex, then just Jack and Brenna, afterwards a complete group picture with Brenna and I included.
Afterwards, we headed back to the student parking lot, but it wasn't until something had caught my eye. Three familiar faces had passed by in a blur. I stopped in my tracks, causing Alex to take a halt due to our connected hands.
"What?" He frowned.
"Your family," I simply stated. My feet dragged towards them, however they hadn't notice me or their son yet.
Alex didn't refuse, which was to my surprise. Although I wasn't a fan of his family, I knew what was right, and what was right was Alex seeing his family on his graduation night.
"Alex!" His mother squealed at her first glance, wrapping her arms around her son.
He softly hugged his mother back, but his mouth still remained shut, even when his father went in for a hug.
However, it wasn't until Danielle, his little sister, ran up to him, snaking her tiny arms around his legs when he broke his silence. "Well, look who it is," he chuckled, picking her up and balancing her on his hip.
Danielle giggled into shoulder, her cheeks flushed in a rosy pink. Her brown hair was in natural bouncy curls like the last time I had saw her.
"We're incredibly proud of you, Alex." His father, Robert, had spoken up.
"Thank you," Alex sharply said.
Suddenly, a large gasp fell from Alex's mother. "Is that-is that a tattoo?" Vivian rushed to his hand, examining his rose.
Alex rolled his eyes a tad while his family was all in shocked, but Danielle wasn't fazed by it, nonetheless she was amazed and liked it.
"Jonah would be so proud." His mother got teary eyed when she noticed the initials of her late son tattooed below the flower.
"I know," Alex nodded and kneeled down to the ground, putting Danielle back on her feet, and grabbing my hand. "Well, Laila and I need to get going."
Vivian hugged Alex one more time, and then, had given me a short hug too.
Shortly, we parted our ways and back to Alex's car we went, this time as no longer high school students. We blasted our favorite songs on our way to a big graduation house party. Normally it wouldn't be an event we would go to, but considering tonight was already special, we decided to go.
"How does it feel, baby?" I asked. "To finally be graduated?"
"I don't know," he said. "But what I do know is that dress you're wearing makes me wanted to tear it right off of you."
Before we got in the car, we had both taken off our gowns and were left to what we had under them.
"Later," I teased, my hand was dangerously on his thigh as he drove with one hand, going over the speed limit.
"Or now," he raised his eyebrows, giving me a mocking look.
"Yeah, right," I rolled my eyes.
Less than twenty minutes later, we had arrived to the house. Already the party was live. The thumping of the bass from the music could be heard even when we had to park our car a block away.
When walked up to it, the house was packed with people, nearly brimming outside the front porch and onto the lawn.
Alex kept the lead as we enter the home, the music was pounding and the sweat of bodies grinding on each other consumed the air. Multiple couples or just random people were sloppily making out. The smell of alcohol and sex was infused into the atmosphere.
We ended up in the rather large kitchen, where all the liquor and beer bottles were held in coolers. The amount of already drunk people was overwhelming. The sliding glass door to the backdoor lead out to the pool, where I could easily see intoxicated guys and girls diving into the water or playing beer pong, there was no in between.
"What would you like for a drink?" Alex asked, reaching into the cooler to get a beer for him to drink.
"Surprise me," I challenged him. My smirk told it all.
"Close your eyes then." he raised his eyebrows with a cocky smile. I almost hesitated until I realized it was Alex, my boyfriend, who couldn't do me wrong with making me a drink. I was more worried about it turning out awful more than anything else.
But nonetheless, I closed my eyes shut as I heard him shuffle around in the kitchen. The music caused difficulty to hear whether he was filling the cup, shaking it, or adding ice.
"Open your mouth," he whispered into my ear, his lips softly nipping it after handing me the plastic cup. "Don't peak."
I brought the cup up to my mouth, first sniffing it before taking a small sip. At the beginning, it tasted like watermelon with a hint of mint, and as I swallowed, the kick had hit, the burn washed down my throat.
Opening my eyes, Alex stood in front of me, his hand running through his hair.
"What did you make this with?" I curiously asked, taking another sip of the delicious drink.
"Can't say, top secret information," He refused to inform me. "But what I can say is that it's called Alex-Gaskarth's-mixed-drink-for-his-wonderful-girlfriend drink."
"You're an idiot." I chuckled, and grabbed his shirt, pulling him in to seal a kiss.
Before I could even think about deepening the kiss, the loud calling of Alex's name interrupted us.
"Alex!" screamed Jack, who didn't hesitate to wrap his arms around my boyfriend. Jack's hands immediately tussled Alex's hair, causing it to become more of a mess than it already was.
Rian, Zack, and Brenna came flooding into the kitchen as well, and had greeted Alex and I with hugs and wasted no time afterwards to grab a drink.
"C'mon, dance with me," Alex had pulled me into the living room where most of the grinding was occurring. It was nerve-racking and something out of my comfort zone, but I was willing when it was Alex who I was with.
"Lex, I can't dance, you know that." I screamed over the pounding song.
"I'll teach you." He placed his hands on my lower hips, turning me around so my back was facing him, which in a split second my body was up against his chest. The beating of his heart was felt in my upper shoulder while he applied pressure on my waist, guiding me side to side to the beat of the song. “That’s it, baby,"
It was the second time I had actually heard him call me that pet name, it was usually me who called him that. However I liked it a lot. His voice was raspy than ever and it nearly made me want to moan. He was too sexy for his own good.
Eventually, and with the help with the drink I had in hand, my body got into the hang of it. The rhythm sank into my bones and gave me a careless energy. I no longer cared if anybody was watching. It was just me and Alex tonight, nobody else.
I began to grind harder into his hips as we swayed back in forth in sync. His arms roamed all over my body, from my curves down to my thighs, his touch left a trail of fire on my skin, and it wasn't before long when a noticeable bulge was nudging in between us.
It was almost laughable, and the alcohol was starting to take an effect on my judgment. Zack had come around and gave Alex his fourth beer of the night, surely he was now feeling the change in his behavior, but neither of us had cared at all.
"Jesus Christ," Alex groaned. His head rested on my right bare shoulder, giving it small pecks of kisses leading up to my neck where he nipped and suck on.
My eyes closed shut from the pleasure and sensation he was giving me. Alex perfectly knew all my weak spots.
"Let's take this somewhere else." he growled lowly, taking my hand, he lead us out the front door.
Walking was problematic with my heels, causing me to stop in our tracks to take them off. "Where are we going?" I pondered.
"Car," Alex uttered under his breath.
We walked down the middle of the street, half drunk and half in a daze from the weed that had been smoked inside the house. The smile on my face couldn't be wiped off while I had my eyes trained on my hand connected to Alex. If there was anything that I was in love with about our relationship, it was the simple hand holding.
Somehow without being hit by passing cars, we made it back to his vehicle. Neither of us bothered with getting into the front seats, it was an immediate silent decision to get in the back.
Once we closed the side-door, our lips collide into a steamy mess. His hands glided down to my ass, squeezing my left cheek had earned him a moan from me as my hands ran through his untanned hair.
The streetlight just outside of the car illuminated the interior just enough for both of us to see. My back was gently laid down on the seat as Alex hovered over me, with one arm prompt to keep his body weight up, and his other cupping my jaw.
His soft lips savored every bit of my skin, from my mouth down to my jawline, sucking all the way down to my collarbone. Our breathing at this point was ragged and slow, just like our movements were. Every action was filled with love, lust, and passion. It wasn't like our other fast times, it was all about being steady and devouring our time together before it would be gone by tomorrow when he had to leave for tour.
"God, Laila," Alex moaned before pulling away, his hand reached towards my back to hoist it up, following by his fingers unzipping the back of my dress, giving him the access to slide it off of me.
He yanked on the hem of it before teasingly dragging it off my body, and tossing it to the side. He went back to hovering over me, and this time, his lips traveled further down my body in a taunting steady pace.
I wiggle gently from his heated touch. I longed to have more of him. He was testing my patience as his fingertips traced down to my laced panties, his touch moved down to my core, but only with a cloth of material to be in the way. It was gruesome to wait.
"Alex," I whined, my back arching.
"What's the magic word?" He deviously smiled, clearly getting enjoyment from my begging.
"There is no magic word. I've been dating you for over 6 months. That's good enough." I huffed out in annoyance.
He chuckled at my wittiness and proceeded to slide his hand down my panties, his touch reaching to my hot wet area and quickly rubbing it in a fast motion. A groan sounded off in the deeps of my throat from the pleasure.
The air around us became hot and sticky. My hands worked to take off Alex's dress shirt off by working on every button. Once I did, I had notice how emotionally connected I felt with him. It was like everything we did was in rhythm and in sync. It was comfortable with him, and hardly awkward. The love between us kept pulling us together, constantly crashing and colliding in ripping waves.
He withdrawal his hand just as I was about to be on my edge, however his actions left him taking his pants off for himself due to our limited space for our bodies. I took this time to catch my breath and balance my body into a normal state.
Before Alex threw his pants somewhere random in the car, he pulled out a small square packet from the back pocket.
He nodded his head at me before slipping his boxers off, releasing his long erect member. The packet was shortly ripped open and the plastic ring was slid over him with the help of his hand.
"Are you sure?" he asked for consent.
With my eyes locked on his, I discretely nodded my head with my lips slightly parted, trying to catch my breath. He didn't waste any more time afterwards, and slowly entered me, his hips thrusting into my pelvis.
There was an immediate euphoria flooding into my body, every inch and nerve in me was tangling with sensation. Alex's body glided over me with every thrust, our eyes trained on each other’s.
Moans had filled the car and our hot breathing made the air almost not even there.
As we continued, the closer I felt on the edge and about to come. A pit formed in my lower region of my stomach. It was all too much to handle and my moans were untamed with every passing minute.
I could easily tell Alex was close too. His eyes screwed shut as he screamed out my name multiple times. My entire body was shaking against his. My release was coming at full force.
"Alex," I moaned his name, and all at once, my toes curled, my eyes closing shut, my hands raking down his back, leaving marks from my nails.
Alex found his release not too soon after mine. His body fell to the left side of my body. Our breathing was the only sound left as a group of drunken giggling people had passed by our car.
"I love you." Alex whispered into my ear, and then had kissed my temple.
I gently smiled from his sweet words. There was never going to be a moment where those three words would not make me happy. It made my head spin with great bliss and that was how it would be for every time. I was never going to take him or his love for me for granted.
"And I love you, Lex," I said. "and I'll always will."
Saying goodbye to the halls and the classes was easy, and now it was time to say hello to the jobs and taxes. He promised her if she was with him, they'd find a way. All he wanted to be was her lost boy in neverland, be her "everything better plan", but now, Wendy is running towards a different direction without him, and he's just trying to find his calling.
The neighbors said she moved away.
