Chapter 18

Insight on the vampires

Ayato went back to the Mukami mantion as both the Sakamaki's and Mukami's were waiting with Yui. They all crowded in the living room, talking amongst each other. Reiji looked over as he sipped his tea. "Where have you been Ayato?" he asked, as Laito spoke next. "Yes, you just dissapeared and didn't take Yui with you, which is surprising" he said, as Ayato cutted him off. At this point, the wholel room looked at him, even Yui. Ayato took a big sigh as he spoke. "I found Skylar and she seems to be alright" he said, as everyone looked at him in shock. The Mukami's jumped at the comment as Ruki spoke. "Where is she? Who she with" he asked, Ayato saw it on the other Mukami's faces, that they thought the same thing. Ayato huffed as he spoke. "She's on an apple orchard. But she's with someone else and I don't know what they want with her or why" he said, as Reiji spoke. "Just tell us. Who has her?" he asked, as Ayato nodded. "She's with the founders. And theirs about one more by the looks of it" he said. With the mention of the founders, the group looked at him in shock. Shu opened his eyes, as he continued to lean on the frame entrance in the back. Kou jerked his head as he spoke. "What do they want with Skylar?" he asked, as everyone was thinking the same thing. Ayato shrugged as he spoke. "Why do I know? I left before the wolves attacked me again."

Ruki sat back on the couch, as he thought to himself. He couldn't believe that his slave was taken by the founders. He thought about the orchard that Ayato mentioned, as he kept his focus on that for a bit. "The orchard. Isn't that the place she lived before she became a slave?" he asked, as he looked at his brothers. Yuma nodded, knowing the answer to that. "That's what she described it as" he said, as everyone went back into thought. "The last thing she wanted was to get to the orchard. We were going to take her there, but we didn't know the owners on it. But now that we know" he said, as the room went silent. It was silent for about five minutes as they looked at Yui. "Well, so far they didn't go after Yui, which is a plus" Kanato said, breaking the silence. Reiji looked over as he spoke. "But for all we know, they could still be after Yui" he said, as Yui gasped. She went to back up as she ran into Laito. "Oh don't worry. They won't take you Yui. We'll get Skylar back and everything's going to be alright" he said, as he cracked a smile at Yui. Yui sat there, as she tried to calm herself before doing anything. Reiji pushed up his glasses, as he turned to Ruki. "So what's the plan?" he asked, which grabbed Ruki's full attention. "Sorry, you said something?" he asked, as Reiji nodded. "I did. I said what's the plan" he asked again, as Ruki looked at the other Mukami's. Kou nodded as Yuma and Azusa gave him the look, telling Ruki the same thing. Ruki sighed as he turned to the Sakamaki's. "Alright, we'll go after Skylar. Are you Sakamaki's in?" he asked, as Shu smiled. Subaru huffed as he spoke. "We wouldn't ask about the plan if we weren't going to help" he said, as Reiji cutted in. "Subaru's right. Skylar to you is like Yui to us. Their special and they've been sent to us for a reason. Skylar's a part of your family, so we'll help out to make sure she's home safe" he said, as the attention went back to Ruki. Ruki nodded as he spoke. "Alright, but we're going to need help" he said, as he looked at everhyone in the room. Shu smiled as he spoke. "We know just the people."

A few hours later

Cordelia, the mother of the tripplets and Richter, Subaru's uncle were sitting on the couch in front of the boys. Cordelia was in her navy rose gown, sitting with her legs crossed and a glass of blood sitting in her hand. Her eyes were hauntingly looking at her three biological son's, as she slowly sipped on her glass. Kanato, Laito and Ayato stared at their mother in hatred and regret, already wanting this to end. Subaru stood in the back, away from his uncle as he gave Richter the dealth glare. Cordelia took a sip of her blood as she spoke. "What's this? You need our help, or is it that you boys missed your mommy?" she asked, putting the attention back on herself. Reiji cleared his voice as he spoke. "Thank you Cordelia and Richter for comming. We need your help. The founders are back and they got a friend of ours. No one knows what they want exactly or why they have her" Reiji explained, as the two hated grownups lisened with full attention. Richter looked at Reiji in confusion. "You need our help? After you practacly tried to kill us?" he asked, as Reiji nodded. Ruki took the attention as he spoke. "Please. It's our slave and our house is really dirty. We can't get a new one so we need her back" Ruki explained as his three younger brothers looked at him in confusion.

Cordelia looked at Ricter as she spoke to him silently. They were quietly talking amonst each other, as they turned back to look at Reiji. "So what's in it for us?" she asked, as Reiji's eyes narrored, knowing that they would be like this. Reiji darted a look at the both of them as he spoke. "What would you like in return?" he asked as Ricter smiled. "A piece of this slave's blood, each" he said, putting their end of the deal to it. Reiji sighed as he turned to Ruki. "Would you allow that?" he asked, as Ruki darted another look. He went to decline the deal, as Kou pulled him aside. "Excuse us Mukami's for a second" he said, as the for of the spoke amongst themselves. "What is it Kou? I don't want those vampires having her blood" Ruki explained, Yuma and Azusa gave Kou the same look. "Maybe it will save Skylar permantly. Maybe she will be turned into a vampire, and become one of us. Plus it's the founders. We can't compare to them. We need an army" he said, as he fisted a hand and placed it in his other hand. Azusa nodded in silence. Yuma looked back at Ruki as he spoke. "Kou's right. Skylar needs us and we can't give up on her" he said, as Ruki huffed. "Ok, let's do it" he said, as they pulled out of their huddle. Ruki looked at the two parent figures of the Sakamaki's along with the six brothers. "Alright, we'll team up. But remember, no one put's their fangs into her. The slave is ours" He said, as all the Sakamaki's nodded. "Agreed. We'll free the slave, then leave just like that" Cordelia said, as Ruki nodded. "We're ready" he said, as he looked at the six brothers. Shu huffed as he shifted off of the couch. "Alright, but we got to hurry before they kill her" he said, as the whole group left, knowing what their mission and plan was.

Skylar's POV:

I was brushing my hair in the bathroom, as I hummed to myself. I just got out of the shower, and got into another change of clothes. I had a black tank top and black shorts, that didn't even come down to the knees. I wore black sneakers, with white laces that I knotted at the bottom. I brushed my hair over and over again to get the knots out when a knock came on the door. "Skylar can I come in?" Shin asked, through the door. I nodded as I put the brush down. "Yeah, you can" I said as I turned around and Shin came through the door. He popped his head in, as he cracked a smile at me. "You ready for this?" he asked as I huffed and looked into the mirror. I looked at my tank top and shorts, wondering why they had me wear this. "Um guess. I hope it's not cold outside tonight" I said, still examining my outfit. Shin shook his head as he came in completely. "You look fine. That's how us wolves dress. By the time we're done tonight, your body will react. It's kinda like your always a wolf. You feel the warmth of the fur at all times" he said, as I looked at him. "And you sure, this is the best way to get back with the vampires?" I asked, as I looked at him. Shin nodded as he spoke. "I'm sure. It's time to change into a wolf, and take back your world." I turned to take one last look at myself as I turned and followed Shin out of the room.

He led me out of the house, through the orchard and into the woods, as we got onto a little hiking trail. The leaves blew with the branches as some of the leaves blew off the tree, and practically hitting me in the face. We trudged through the woods, as we walked to a lake to see Carla and Nikan standing near it, and a cement slap, the size of me lied behind them. I stopped as I sighed, knowing that this was the only way to life now. Carla turned to me as he spoke. "We don't have much time" he said, as I nodded. "Ok sorry" I said, as I walked more towards the slab. I stopped when I heard a yell into the air. "Skylar don't" the sound of Ruki's voice spoke as I looked around. "Something wrong?" Shin asked as I looked back at him. I looked behind me as I shook my head. "No, I'm all set" I said, as I waked up to the slab, and sat on it. I went to lie down, as I rested my head on what felt like a pile of fur, wolves fur to be exact. I felt the vines again, as they strapped my arms and legs down to the slab. I pulled and pulled but I couldn't get out of it. No going back now. Carla walked by my head, examining my neck. Shin got one of my arms in position as Nikan grabbed the opposite ankle. "Ok, ready Skylar?" Carla asked as I nodded. "Let's get this done and over with" I said, as I closed my eyes. I listened to the water crash against the land behind us, as it put me in a more relaxed state. I felt the moons shine and the slight breeze that brushed against my skin. "Alright" I said as I relaxed, knowing that it was going to hurt. I felt something wet dab my ankle, as fangs entered my skin and blood started to ooze down on the stone. Next, Shin bent down as he did the same, then Carla followed suite with the plan. I started by screaming like a human. That lasted for a good fifteen minutes, as it changed to a howl. The howl sounded more like a wolf then anything. I howled loudly for the rest of the bite, as they all released me at the same time, and I crashed to the cement.

I had this sensation like I was still awake, but I was sleeping at the same time. I could hear the founder's and their son's voices as they spoke. "Alright, you can undo the vines now" Carla spoke, as the vines released me from their grip. I rolled onto my side as I lied there, not knowing how to wake up as. I started to sleep like a human, but I ended up curling myself up as some type of dog. I felt warm fur as it brushed my cheek, keeping me warm in the night air. I didn't know if it was my fur, or someone else but I knew it was fur. "Skylar. No" I heard a yell through the air as I stayed sound asleep. My senses started to change dramatically. I sniffed as I kept my head down, smelling vampire in the area. "Kou?" I thought as I sniffed again, trying to compare the sent. "No. Ruki" I thought as I opened my eyes to see nothing but fur. Wolf's fur the color of sand. My belly was a tannish color, as my back was more of a brownish color. My paws were smaller as the boys, but I had a long tail, that completely wrapped halfway around my body. I knew I completely changed my look, and I knew I could control it. I looked at Ruki as he watched me in worry and shock. "Skylar" he said, as a tear dripped down his cheek, broken from my decision. I knew at this point that I didn't want it anymore. I just realized that when the Mukami's called me family, they meant it. I turned my head towards the founders as they nodded. "It's ok. You want the farm back right? So let's see what you can do" Carla said with a smile, as he looked at the Sakamaki's and the Mukami's. "To tell if you can actually survive this world, we're putting you the ultimate test. Kill the vampires" he said with a smile on his face. I looked back at the group as I felt like killing myself. I couldn't kill the Mukami's, after all we've been through. I also knew, human or wolf, I was their Eve, and always be part of the family.

I growled as I turned toward Carla, lunging at him, and dug my claws right into his chest. Blood poured out of him, as he crashed to the floor. He lied on the ground bleeding, like I just stabbed him with a knife. I turned to Shin as he growled. "You didn't" he said, as he turned to a wolf again, as he lunged at me. His teeth and claws were barring out, ready to kill me. I ducked as I heard a yelp and a sward go into him. I opened my eyes, to find blood dripping down on the stone, as I saw a man in a long trench coat, with long green hair. He pulled his sward out of Shin, as the one eyed wolf fell to the ground, and closed his eyes. I started to shake, as the man turned to me. He had beating red eyes, just like Subaru did. He stood tall, as he pointed his sward at the ground. I tucked my tail underneath me, as I started to shake. The man bent down towards me, as he lent out his hand. "It's ok" he said, as I growled at him. He just sat there, as he tried to get me closer, but I backed up and hit my head against the wall behind us. The man looked at me, as Ruki got next to him. "May I?" he asked, as the man nodded and let him by. Ruki squatted down closer, as he sighed. "It's ok Skylar. We don't care if your a wolf or human. Your still our family, so let's go home" he said, as he cracked a smile. I went to react to him but I blacked out of the scene before I could say or do anything.
