Author's Note:

Hey, everyone! Swag~Chan is back to writing these chapters! I think it has been more than a month since I have published a new chapter. I apologize, and I appreciate the patience💕.

If you didn't know, I left for a little while because school had gotten busy. But it isn't any more! So regular uploads should occur more. Don't know if it will be out on Mondays or any other day of the week. I'll let you know about the schedule in my random book.

I hope you enjoy this long chapter of Fear of the Innocent Flame🔥🔥!!

Lucy's POV

Ah, nothing like a nice cup of tea and looking out the window. If I was able to go outside, I would feel the brisk morning breeze, flowing through my hair. The chill, prickling at my cheeks; while I sipped the warm liquid to awaken my body from its tired state.

I love being outside, but it is too risky for me right now. Knowing my father might be at my doorstep at any moment is kinda scary.

It has been two days now since I told my two great friends about my life. Natsu has been so supportive and a little over protective. He won't even let me go to the store in my usual disguise that I would wear to blend in. I can't blame him for being this way. If I knew a friend that was in danger, I would protect them with all my might!

With the thought of protecting my friends, my mind began to think. What would I do if I got my friends into danger by being with them? Am I just painting a big, red target on their backs by living with them? I could not bear for anything to happen to them! I would give up anything and everything for them to be safe!

After this anxiety filled thought, I enjoyed the rest of this nice morning. I finished my tea as I sat here. I breathed in a heavy breath to calm my mind.

"What are you thinking about, Luce?" someone said aloud from my bedroom door. I knew who it was, so I just turned around to face him. He wore a sweet, tender smile. Behind it though, I know he is worried about me.

I smiled, "Oh, you know. Just thinking about this one book I have been reading. It's about this one girl that ran away from her scary father and met friends along the way. It's quite interesting. When you learn to read fully, I recommend you to read this one." I chuckled at my sarcasm. Natsu found it sorta funny. He hesitantly laughed along.

"Well, you forgot one major detail," he added, "The girl isn't some ordinary girl. She is strong and smart. And beautiful," he whispered the last part, but I heard it. Clear as day. I blushed at his compliment.

To gain back my composure, I quickly added on to the story, "Oh! So, you have read this one before, Natsu? I thought you didn't know how to read?" I smirked at him. Natsu looked like he struggled to think of some comeback to my statement.

"U-uh, w-well. I a-actually was taught a little bit of reading by my father. He didn't have a lot of resources to help teach me, though." Him saying this got me curious about his family. I don't know much about them.

I asked, "Who was your father? I don't think you have told me much about him. Also, what about your mother? Now that I think about it, you haven't talked much about your family life." I could see Natsu visibly gulp at my questions. It might be a touchy subject for him... I should pull back my questions...

"Natsu, I'm sorry. You don't have to-" "My father was a dragon." His statement shut me up. I guess he is fine with saying?

"Luce, it is fine. You should know about my past. You did tell me about yours, so it is only fair that I share mine with you. Just... promise to be honest with me if- if you are s-scared of me..." he said while having a downcast face. He looks scared...

Natsu cleared his throat to prepare his voice. "So, yeah. My father was a dragon," he repeated, "We are not blood related, but he took care of me since I was only 9 months old. He is the only parent I had... My real ones didn't want me I guess." Natsu shrugged at this. I am still confused as to what would scare me off.

He looked at me, then continued, "He was the one that used all the resources he had to give me some sort of education. Igneel was a great father... but he left me after I started to realize the situation dragons are in. They are feared." I stare into his shaken eyes as I put all my attention on him. I showed him a sympathetic smile when he said his father left him.

He paused, "Why haven't you ran away? Doesn't it scare you that my father was a dragon?"

My eyes widen at his remark. "Why should I be scared? I have gotten to know the real you, Natsu. The fact that your father was a dragon does not change the fact that you are compassionate, attentive, and oddly intuitive." I giggled at the last part and that made him smile.

"Your the first," he said with his tone laced with pure joy, "Your the first to not run from me at the mention of a dragon. Thank you." Natsu began to let tears slowly fall from his eyes. I walk over from the window and wrapped my arms around his neck. He, in return, put his arms around my neck to embrace me.

That moment felt so, right... so, homey. I didn't want to leave his warmth, but he broke the hug. "Do you have any questions, my queen?" My face grew beet red at the nickname.

There is only one thing on my mind. One question that had magically popped into my head.

"Do you have any magic then? You know, being the son of a dragon?" my eyes gleamed with curiosity and wonderment. His face grew a hesitant smile.

"I do..." he answered.

The anticipation was killing me. I felt like a kid that was looking into a candy shop window. Wanting so badly to ransack the place and eat all the candy my stomach could handle. I was really excited to see it.

Natsu noticed this and looked like he had thought of a way to torture me. He told me, "I will show you once you show me yours. I know what it is called, but you never showed it to me." I pouted at this. I wanted to see his power RIGHT NOW. Dang, why did he pull this on me! I know how to get back at him. Heh heh.

"Sure, I'll show you. So, should I bring out the maid, lamb, fish, cow, lion, scorpion, twins, goat, horse, or crab." I want him to pick the crab, for two reasons. One, he could give Natsu's hair a haircut and two, the crab can be a little annoying.

Natsu's mouth began to water. "Crab, please." Got him!

"Open, gate of the giant crab, Cancer!" I chanted. A bright glow filled the room, making Natsu squint his eyes for a moment. Then, there stood a man with crab legs attached to his back. His hair is black and braided in red cornrows. He wore sunglasses and a blue shirt with black stripes, going vertical, on it. In his hands, he holds scissors with crab-like handles on them.

"What would you like for me to do? Ebi~," Cancer asked after being summoned. Natsu stood there, in awe. Oh, you have not seen anything yet.

I grinned, "Give Natsu a haircut."

"With pleasure," he replied to his owner.

Cancer put Natsu into a chair and started to cut his hair. He cut it in a variety of different styles, from having long hair to completely buzzed off. The funniest one was the one that made him look like Liam Neeson from the Star Wars prequel movies. That one made me laugh. I also don't think Natsu was enjoying his hair being changed, so after about 15 minutes of torturing him, I ordered Cancer to change it back to normal.

Cancer did as I said. "Thank you, Cancer. You can go back to the Celestial World now." He bowed and left. Now, it is just back to me and Natsu.

"Wow... your power is, interesting?" he giggled. I chuckled too. It can be more useful but mainly in battle. I have not actually needed them to fight, yet.

I put my keys away and immediately turned back into the wanting child I was. I want to see his power! I came back into the room to see Natsu's finger tips, ON FIRE!! I grew frantic and grabbed the fire extinguisher from the kitchen. I sprayed him down, even though he profusely protested.

When it was out, I put the can down and grabbed his hand to inspect the damage. There was none...

My mouth laid wide opened as the pinky laughed at me! I don't know why, this is serious!

"Luce, I love how concerned you were for me, but my power is Fire Dragon Slayer Magic. I cannot burn myself." I feel stupid. Of course this would be his power! I used to read a lot of books on dragons and their magic. I should have known.

We cleaned up the mess I created and then relaxed on the couch as he showed me the rest of his cool abilities.
