No One's POV *2 weeks before the present day*

In a remote area of land with only one building visible, there lived a girl that goes by the name of Lucy Heartfilia. She is around the age of 18.

The building is actually the Heartfilia's mansion on their acres and acres of land. They are a rich family.

The mansion is owned by her father, Jude Heartfilia. Jude was a kind man who loved his daughter and his wife, Layla Heartfilia. Layla is a beautiful woman with blonde hair and chocolate, brown eyes. Lucy is a spitting image of her mother.

Lucy's father was the one who makes the money to finance their life style. He works a lot, and it sometimes gets in the way of things.  But he really does love his family.

Lucy is currently sitting, alone, in the living room. She has a stressed expression on her face. It is probably because her mother has fallen ill recently and she is not going to get better.

A doctor told them, "Your wife and mother, Layla, has had a stroke that has severely damaged a lot of her body functions..." the doctor paused, but another doctor continued to explain the situation.

"I believe she will only have two days before her heart will fail... I am sorry," he choked while telling them this heartbreaking news. This is the type of news doctors hate to tell there patients' families.

Jude's eyes were blank as if he was not even comprehending what the doctors were telling him. He was in denial. Lucy understood and turned to the doctors, tears building up, "Thank you for all your help, doctors." She forced a small smile on her face while leading the doctors to the front door.

As Lucy closed the door behind them, she slid down the door and let all the tears out that she had held back. She curled up into a ball so no one can see her face. After a good while of crying, she got up and searched for her father. I need to talk to him and check on how he is doing with all this going on, she thought to herself.

Lucy entered Jude's office, hoping to find him there. He is always in his office which kinda upsets Lucy. She doesn't want him to be cooped up in here; instead, he should be out in the real world. She has always wanted to leave this house and start her own adventure.

The only reason why she hasn't left is that she knows it would make her parents worry about her and her father forbids her from leaving. Which makes her quite angry since she feels like a chicken stuck in its prison of wires.

Lucy, still looking for her dad, starts to call out, "Dad where are you! I want to talk, but I can't find you!"

As she says this her father finally calls, drunkenly, "I'm right here baby! *Hic*" She heard his voice coming from the kitchen. Much to her surprise, he was chugging a bottle of wine with an already empty bottle on the table.

"Why are you getting drunk!? Right now is not the time for that. Mom needs you to be strong for her!" Lucy exclaimed with rage, dripping from her lips.

Jude was enraged by his daughter snapping at him like that. He wanted to punish her for her behavior. With a lot of force and speed, he grabbed the bottle on the table and slammed it against her right arm. The bottle broke into many shards, some sticking in Lucy's, now bleeding, arm.

Lucy was appalled by her father's actions. She knew he was drunk, but that really hurt her, physically and mentally. Her left hand gradually lifted up to her right arm to inspect the damage. She winced at the pain that shot from her arm at that single touch.

With blood trickling down her fingertips, to the floor, she questioned her father, "Why did you do that? I did not deserve that type of punishment." Tears began to build up as she looked into her father's flame enraged eyes.

He snickered before, saying, "You should die, instead of your mom. She is going to die now because of you!" Jude's eye began to twitch; he went off the deep end. Bloodlust was evident in him, no regret for what he did what so ever.

Fear flowed through Lucy's body. She couldn't move; she couldn't speak. The only thought she had was I need to get out of here, out of his reach! I think he might kill me in the state he is in!

Her bedroom was upstairs, so she dashed up the stairs trying to not trip on the way up. She could hear the heavy breathing of her father getting closer and closer to her.

As he chased her, he would say, "Stop running you little b****!"

Her heart tore from her beloved father's remarks. Though it did not make her want to stop, it made her want to run faster.

Lucy panted and coughed as she trudged to her room, slamming the door shut tight as she got inside. As soon as Lucy locked the door, she heard a loud BANG sound against the door. Jude had run his whole entire body into the door. Then, there was an eerie silence.

Lucy didn't hesitate to take this opportunity to pack up her things and bandage her wounds. She knew she couldn't take everything of course. Only the essentials. Lucy grabbed 3 pairs of clothes, bathroom utensils(toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.), her diary, and (most importantly) her celestial keys her mother gave to her.

Once she was done packing and bandaging, she stared at the door to her room. Lucy was scared to open it, but she heard no noise coming from the outside. Did my father pass out from the alcohol? I hope he stopped wanting to chase me... and possibly harm me..., she thought to herself, sadly with a hint of fear.

She didn't want to take any chances. She chanted out loud, "Open, gate of the maiden, Virgo!" There was a bright light that blinded Lucy for a few seconds. She blinked and saw a woman with pink hair and wearing a maid's outfit. The maiden had no clear expression.

"What would you like me to do, hime?" she asked her master.

Lucy commanded, "Can you please tunnel outside my door to see if my father is still there? If he is not, knock twice to let me know." The maiden bowed in response and did as was requested of Lucy.  Virgo went through the makeshift tunnel she made and looked all around in the hall.

She saw no sign of him to her left or right. Virgo turned to face the door and then noticed a knocked out man in front of her master's room. To make the coast clear for the princess, Virgo tied up Jude and set him aside. As told, Virgo then proceeded to complete her task.

Lucy heard the 2 knocks and opened the door with a sigh of relief. Lucy thanked Virgo, and she disappeared back to the celestial world.

The last thing Lucy needed to do before leaving was to say her final goodbye to her beloved mother. She walked the opposite way of where her father was and entered the room at the end of the hall. Lucy knocked before infiltrating the master bedroom.

There was a faint, "Come in," from the frail woman, lying on her deathbed. Her voice sounded as if she struggled to speak those two words.

When her mother saw Lucy walk in, she looked at her daughter. Layla had noticed the bandages around her arm. The shock was apparent on her face.

"Mom..." she started, "I love you so much, but I need to leave now. Father is being severely reckless and I fear for my life. I know he will not hurt you." Lucy began to tear up. Layla saw her tears and knew she had to leave.

Layla smiled towards her daughter. "I understand. I love you," the pale woman managed to say. She gently caressed Lucy's face, wiping the tears that were falling from her saddened eyes.

Lucy kissed her cheek and embraced her mother for the last time. She felt guilty about leaving her with her father though there wasn't much of a choice. While slowly going down the stairs to not wake her father, she checked to be sure she was prepared for the world.

Now at the front door, she took her final glance at her home. With a heavy sigh, she exited the mansion, breathing in the air of freedom.

No One's POV *Present Day*

Lucy's journey had taken her to Hargeon. She rented an apartment near the center of town for a hefty price of 65,000 jewels. The apartment was a one bedroom, one bath, perfect for her.

After a week in her new apartment, she left it to go shopping for food and other essentials, taking her keys with her for protection. She doesn't know it yet, but this will be the day she meets someone who will officially start her "Grand Adventure".

Author's Note:So, now that the prologue is completely out, you can help me create questions Lucy and Natsu will possibly ask each other in a future chapter! They can be simple questions like favorite food or color. (Maybe not color😂😂) If I think I can use the question, I'll respond and I'll be sure to mention you in that chapter as well.  Also say if Lucy or Natsu should ask the question. Can't wait to see what y'all come up with!😊
