Chapter 33: Yes

Levi's POV

"Here" I muttered as I scooped a spoonful of food and fed it to Hanji. She smiled goofily as she looked at me while even swaying her body from side to side. This woman have been enjoying herself for some time already that it is making me annoyed. In reality, she can even eat her own food now but Hanji insists that she cannot. So up until now, I had to feed her like a child which this shitty glasses sees as her newfound entertainment.

"Don't I have a really sweet boyfriend?" She teased me after she swallowed her food. I 'tsked' as I got a spoonful of food once again and placed it her mouth as soon as she opened it to talk. Hanji's eyes widened but eventually, she laughed it off.

Despite all the teasing and headache that Hanji has been giving me lately, I still can't remove the fact that I feel so relieved seeing her in that state right now. She has finally gotten her usual energy back and the threat is finally gone. As I have requested, Erwin removed my involvement in every report that his men gave but in exchange, I disclosed every information I have with Kenny and his new gang. It took us a week to process that and to finalize my statement but now, everything is fine and settled. Traute and the rest of the gang are in jail and Kenny is no more. The body parts that was discovered right after the explosion was identified as his' so his death were declared and the bounty for his head was finally removed after his years of crimes. Hanji also told me about what happened to her that night and during that moment, you can't imagine how mad I was with her. She placed herself in danger just to know my past which I find so stupid. But despite that, I still can't resist my girlfriend so afterwards, we made up and just promised not to be reckless again.

While I was feeding Hanji, the door of her room opened and we both turned our head to that direction. Erwin came in with an envelope in hand, dressed in his usual suit and tie. Hanji yelled her greetings at him while I just nodded which Erwin answered back with the same gesture.

"Looking at you two right now really make it seems like you're really a couple" He said while walking towards us. Hanji smirked at his remark.

"Ha! Now you finally admitted it!" She said proudly while crossing her arms. Erwin moved his eyes heavenwards before handling me the envelope. I placed the tray of Hanji's food in the table beside us and held the envelope. I opened it and as I looked at the contents, Hanji sticked her head above my shoulders to also observe it.

Inside it was the records of Kenny, my compiled statements and the papers regarding the imprisonment of the gang. Aside from that, there were also a number of photos which includes me and Hanji that looks like it was taken from a distance.

"Oy look at this" Hanji giggled as she took one photo. "We look really cute in here" She said while smiling widely and then she pushed the photo in my face. It was a picture of us taken a few weeks before the incident when Hanji and I went out for a stroll and a coffee.

"Yeah. Now get that thing out of my face" I said while pushing the photo towards her. Hanji smiled and held it by her chest.

"I'm going to keep this. We have so little pictures together after all" She said as I rolled my eyes at her. I continued digging throught the envelope when suddenly, one old photo made me freeze. Hanji noticed my reaction to she went to look at it too. Her body shook for a second and before I tried to crumple it, she took it from my hand.

"Hey!" I yelled at her when she pulled it away.

"I won't let you throw this one away. I'll also keep it" Hanji told me while hiding the picture to her back.

"Keep each photo in this envelope but not that one" I said, dropping the envelope down her bed but Hanji shook her head no. I felt more pissed. "I said give it to me!" I said, going slightly on top of her to steal the picture. Hanji extended her hand away to keep it from me but I didn't stop reaching for it not until her expression changed and she grunted in pain.

"Aah!" Hanji clutched her side and my eyes went wide as I went off her. Erwin behind me also gazed at us with worry as Hanji continued grunting while curling herself.

Shit. My weight must have placed pressure on her wounds.

"Fuck. I'm sorry Hanji. Where does it hurt?" I asked while I tilted her body to look is there is bleeding. Hanji sobbed and rose her head, looking at me with a pained expression. My heart was beating in panic when all of a sudden, her expression shifted and her mouth curled in a smirk.

"Gotcha" She said before planting a kiss at my lips. I stood in there dumbfounded as Hanji laughed hard with Erwin chuckling a little behind me. I closed my eyes and gritted my teeth before turning my back at my crazy girlfriend. I then went towards Erwin and pulled him by his arms as I walked out of the room.

"You are leaving. Now." I said coldly as Erwin grinned at me while nodding.

"I'll be going now Hanji. Good to see you doing great" He told the woman in the bed who is still laughing hard.

"Yeah! You too Erwin!" Hanji yelled just before the door closed behind us when we went out.

"Hanji is really crazy" Erwin chuckled beside me. "Its really a mystery how you are able to handle her" He commented before throwing me an amused look.

"Well she was able to tame me so I don't see any problem with that" I answered without looking back at him, my eyes just darted at the hallway. Erwin hummed in response.

"By the way, the photo that Hanji saw was actually found in Kenny's pocket. He kept it even before he died" He told me which made me flinch a little. I fought all the urge of being affected with it and just shrugged my shoulders as my answer which Erwin fortunately bought.

After that, we walked in silence until we reached the entrance of the hospital where Erwin bid farewell. When he has already walked a distance away from my spot, I turned my body around and went back to Hanji's room. But as I turned a corner, I saw a familiar figure of a guy that was gazing at my girlfriend's door. In his hand was a bouquet of chrysanthemum and carnations that were white and pink in color. I walked towards him and tapped him at his shoulders that jolted him up. He turned around and once he saw me, his eyes widened and he automatically took a step back.

"What are you doing?" I asked and he shook his head.

"I-I just had my check up" He answered but then my eyes fell to the flowers. He noticed it so he immediately hid it behind his back.

I sighed and looked at him calmly. "If you want to visit her, you can just go inside" I told him and his expression softened. "Just don't do anything stupid again or I'll break your nose for the second time" I threatened him and he at me smiled apologetically.

"I'm sorry for what I did before. I know that it was pretty shitty of me to hit on someone with a boyfriend already. I just like her so much that time" His eyes darted below as his smile disappeared.

"Don't just apologize on me Mobshit. Go to her and earn her trust again" I turned my back at him and placed my hands in my pocket "I'll let you be alone with her this one time so tell Hanji that I went to grab a coffee" I said after walking a step but before I made a distance, I halted and looked at him once again with a glare. "No stupid shits. Got it?" I warned him which made Moblit chuckle.

"Yeah. I know" He answered and I once again made my way. I hope that after today, everything will be good because I definitely want to start anew with Hanji once again.

Hanji's POV

Its been 4 weeks since I was admitted in the hospital and today, I can finally be discharged but I have to constantly get my wound check to prevent the stitch from reopening. Levi is actually against of the idea of me, going back home early. He wanted me to completely rehabilitate in the hospital but the white painted walls and the bland meals of the hospital is making me feel more sick so I literally plead him to file my discharge. He agreed tho after I threatened him of break up.

I sat at my bed as I watched my room go empty because Levi has been loading my things in the car outside the hospital. The room is back to its bored, empty space and the flowers from Moblit which once decorated it has already withered. The two of us has already reconciled by the way and it actually made me shock to know that it was Levi who pushed him to visit me in my room. My boyfriend can really appear scary and cold at times but deep inside, he is actually a really good person. He just keeps his kindness masked by his constant glare and curses.

"Is there anything else left?" A voice broke me out of my thoughts and I immediately looked behind me. Levi is leaning at the door with his arms crossed as he stared me.

I shook my head. "Nope. Everything is already packed" I said while standing up from my bed. I looked at him with a smile as Levi walked closer. His eyes fell to the photo on my hand which made him sigh.

"I already told you to dispose of that" He said as he pulled me closer. I shook my head as I wrapped my arms at his neck.

"Nope. I love this picture after all" I answered while Levi frowned at me

"Whats so good with that? My life is fucked up because of that" He said before resting his head at my shoulders.

"Well, putting the knife aside, your smile in here was really adorable that I can't help but feel warm" I said looking at the photo once again which drew a smile in my face.

"That photo marked my mistake. I took Kenny's blade and I joined his gang. Look at what it did to me" He said with a sigh while wrapping his arms tighter around me.

"Well, it lead to our meeting. If you didn't accepted that knife and joined Kenny's gang, I don't think thst we will ever meet each other because you'll be living a different life" I said and he raised his head to look at me. I flashed him a smile as I continued. "I'm thankful for everything that has happened to me Levi. For getting my glasses broken when I was a kid... for losing my apartment key that led me to you... for almost getting killed eventhough I don't really want that to happen again" I chuckled as Levi rolled his eyes "but most importantly, I am grateful that I fell in love with you. You made me the happiest when I realized my feelings for you and you don't know how much my life has changed as soon as you stumbled in my apartment that night. That is why even if I'll be given a chance to choose a life out of a thousand choices, I would choose this one over and over. Because you are in here and that is enough reason for me to say that this is worth living"

Levi looked at me with his eyes wide and without warning, he pulled me down and crashed him lips on me. I answered him with the same intensity and closed my eyes to feel him more. I snaked my hand at the back of his neck while his' rose towards my face to cup my cheeks. As Levi moved his lips on mine, I felt each emotion that he want to pour down on me. I felt his frustrations, his gratefulness, his happiness but most importantly, his love.

When we parted, Levi placed his forehead against mine and closed his eyes. I watched him as I adored each flaws and beauty of his face including the light scar that remained at his cheek because of the wound he got when he fought Kenny, and eventhough his eyes are closed right now I can still imagine how awing his ash gray pools are that always makes me feel drowned whenever he look at me. His nose perfectly sculpted nose that he brushes at mine whenever we kiss and of course his lips that I want on me all day. I still can't believe that someone like Levi also fell in love with me and just thinking about it already makes me feel fulfilled. I closed my eyes and smiled as I enjoyed the moment that we are in right now. 

"Let's get married" He suddenly muttered making me look at him in shock. Levi still has his eyes closed but after a second, he slowly opened it and looked at mine directly.

"W-what?" I asked for I failed to comprehend what he just said. Levi pulled away from me and then he brushed a strand of my hair to my ear.

"I know that it is too sudden when we have only dated for a few months. I don't even have a fucking ring right now" He hissed and then I felt his hand brushed at my right one. I looked down at it, seeing how he interwined his fingers with mine, holding it tightly as he continued. "But seeing you that night with your body all bloody on the stretcher while being placed inside an ambulance made me regret every decision that I ever did Hanji. I thought that I was gonna lose you that day so I started thinking that I should have spent more time with you. I should have protected you more and I should have told you about my past. I should have spoiled you of everything that you wanted and heck. I should have atleast put a ring on you" His grip tightened before he pulled my hand up to his face and planted a kiss on my knuckles. Levi's lips stayed on that for a moment as I looked at him, feeling my chest burst with each emotion that I have inside. He then let go of my hand and looked at me straight in the eyes. "I know that we haven't done much yet as a couple but if you agree to marry me, I'll make up for it for the rest of my life" Levi said and that was it. I reached my limit as I just bursted out of my emotions. I pulled him by his collar and kissed him deeply which he willingly answered.

I pulled away while tears poured out of my eyes. "Yes" I sobbed before pulling him once again to kiss him. "Yes..." I whispered when we parted for a second, only to have our lips connect once again "Yes, I want to marry you..." I said in between the kiss while Levi smiled underneath. He snaked his hand at the back of my head as we drowned on each other's emotions, feeling intoxicated with all the love that we have.

No matter how Levi will ask me or how he would plead for my hand, I will still agree. Because he is the first man that I have ever said yes and will always be the person who'll get the same response from me for the rest of my life.
