As we enter the church we didn't know where to go. The first thing that happened is...well, we got lost. "Lost?" Isabelle asks walking towards us. We smile at her.

"Yes, Very." Liv says laughing. "We don't even know what to do."

"So did you guys really not know?" She asks us about being Shadowhunters.

"Nope, although I knew something was up." I said squinting my eyes. Liv chuckles.

"Not even kidding. She can always tell if something's up." Liv says laughing.

"Nice necklaces." She says to us as she looks at it weirdly.

"Thanks, we haven't taken them off for years." Liv says smiling. I look to the side to see Jace, Alec, Clary, and Simon.

"I have to go. You guys can come with." Isabell says walking to a desk.

"Says the girl who didn't know she was a Shadowhunter?" Jace says to Clary."

"Yeah. Yeah, you're right. And now the only girl who knows the truth is missing, so I don't care about your rules or what's forbidden, I'm... there's got to be someone out there that knows why they've taken my mother." Clary says. I roll my eyes.

"There is." Jace states. "You coming?" He asks Clary.

"Yeah." She answers.

"Where?" Liv asks. As Jace looks at Simon

"No, no, no. Not you." Jace says to Simon.

"Hey, we're a package deal." Clary says pointing at her and Simon. I scoff.

"Great! So you're both returnable at the same time." I say sarcastically. They give me a deadly glare. I glare at them back.

"There are runes all over the training room floor that can kill your mundie boyfriend." Jace says to Clary.

"Simon's heart must be having the time of his life." I say sarcastically.

"He's not my—"I'm not, like— Clary and Simon say at the same time.

"We're, uh, just friends." Simon says sadly. Poor him. Note to sarcasm.

"Best friends." Clary clarified.

"Ouch. Simons just got friend zoned." I say out loud. Liv snorts but covers it with a cough. Simon gives me a glare to stop. I smile at him.

"Yeah, and I'm tough. I can handle runes. So, uh, bring on the runes." Me and Liv laugh.

"It's not funny." Simon says. I cover my mouth.

"I'm not laughing." I say clearly still laughing.

"Anyways, what exactly are runes?" He asks stupidly.

"They give Shadowhunters our demon-fighting powers." Isabelle says up to us. She puts her stele over her arm in which a rune brights up.

"So hot." Simon says. Jace clears his throat.

"Right." Liv says agreeing with him.

"The rune." Simon says fast. Jace clears his throat again.

"Don't worry, Clary. I'll watch over the best friend. In fact I was about to make breakfast. You guys can come too." She says to Clary than turns to us.

"On second thought, the runes might be less lethal." Jace says. Isabell sighs.

"I'll pretend I didn't hear that." She says. "Please excuse my brothers lack of manners. This is Alec... and I'm Isabelle." She puts her hand out for Simon to kiss it.

"Lewis. Simon, Simon Lewis. Two first names. Am I still talking?" He shakes her hand.

"Yes you are, and you're supposed to kiss her hand dumbass." I say to him. They chuckle. Liv grabs it and kisses it.

"See best friends safe and sound here." Jace says to Clary.

"Jace, if anything happens to him..." she starts.

"Go on, I'll be fine." Simon says looking at Isabells arm. "I think."

"See your boyfriends fine." Liv says smirking. Clare glares at her.

"Where are we going?" Clary asks.

"Train room." He says pointing.

"Hey, uh... don't eat the food. Dangerous." Jace says messing with Simon.

"Jace coming?"

"Yeah, I'm coming." Jace says walking to Clary.

"I wonder if Isabelle and Jace are a thing?" Liv says thinking. I roll my eyes.

"I don't think she's dating him." I say smirking. She hums.

"Is this what girls talk about." We look over to Simon.

"Pretty much." Liv answers. "Also, why haven't you told Clary about your crush on her." Love teases him.

"Because, can you guys stop with the comments. It's annoying." He blushes.

"Nope, it's our job to embarrass you." We chuckle. Isabelle comes in with a tray of food. "And you should tell her."

"So, I'm... what happens to humans if they're... runed?" Simon asks motioning to his neck.

"They usually die." She says bluntly. "Sometimes they go crazy. When that happens we call them the forsaken. Then we kill them." I snort.

"I like you." I tell Isabelle. She smiles at me. Liv pinches me.

"Right. So the rune on Clary's neck..." He starts.

"Is a healing rune. I've used it to save her life. Including Arielles and Olivia's."

"So Jace knew she was a Shadowhunter?" Simon asks.

"He was almost certain." She furrowed her eyebrows. Simon runs for the door but Isabelle runs fast to cover the door. She pushes him.

"Where could you possibly be going?" She says.

"To get Clary, to protect her form Jace." He says. I scoff.

"Like he'll do anything." I mumble.

"And why would she need protection from Jace? He's the ultimate protector." She says.

"What makes Jace so special." He asks.

"He's a Shadowhunter and your just a human." I say.

"Fastest, stronger, fiercest. And hello, here you seen the guy?" She says putting a finger on his chin.

"Yeah, well, uh... sorry I asked."

"Rest easy, hombre. Clary's in look hands." She says sitting down. "Mmm, don't worry. There's plenty where that came from." She said eating.

"Good to know."

"So the circle are they as bad as they say they are, it's not good for Clary, is it?" She looks at him.

"It's not good for any of us."

"Anyways, is your brother single?" I ask Isabelle. She chuckles.

"He is." She raises a eyebrow. "Why."

"Just asking, that's all." I say eating. She hums.

"Right." She says eyeing me.

"Is this the least revealing thing you own?" Clary asks Isabelle. I roll my eyes at her.

"What. All the naughty bits are covered. A little too much in my opinion." Isablle says from the bed.

"Anything is too revealing for Clary. Just dress her up as a nun, that'll be heaven for her." I say as I'm laying down with Liv on the bed. Isabelle laughs.

"Where's Simon?" She asks changing the subject.

"Who?" Isabell jokes. Clary gives her a look. "Kidding. He's in good hands with the boys."

"She's just worried about her boyfriend." I say. She glares at me.

"He's just my best friend." She says. She looks at Isabell. "So you, Alec, and Jace are... what, like family?"

"Translation, you want to know if Jace and I are a thing." Isabelle says amusingly.

"Why would I care!" Clary scoffs.

"You just asked genius and you do." Liv says reading her book. I raise an eyebrow.

"Don't worry. In every way, he's like my brother. Our parent took have in when he was ten. We trained together. Learned to fight side by side."

"A few days ago, all I had to worry about was getting into art school. And now..."

"I just wanted to find a special someone." Liv says eyeing Isabelle.

"Is this the part where I give you guys the pep talk about harnessing your inner Shadowhunter and accepting your true destiny?" Isabelle says with an amused look.

"Pretty much." I mumbled.

"Was that the pep talk?" Clary asks her.

"Basically." Isabelle chuckles. "Clary... Remember, you were born to do this. All of you. No matter what happened... no matter what has happened... this is who you are."
