"WE NEED TO TALK."
Amelia tossed aside the her bag and turned around to look at her dad. She knew coming home was a bad idea. She just knew it.
"What's up?" She said before sitting on her bed, raising her eyebrows.
Her dad grabbed her chair, sitting in front of her. He was serious, more like... worried.
"Sealgairs travel to the shadows," he started, "we are silent, we don't make much noise. We work together to remain hidden." He took a deep breath. "You, on the other hand, you work alone."
"I've been dealing with the Argentsโ"
"No more lies, Amelia," his dad whisper. "I can smell it from here."
The girl looked down to the shirt she was wearing. It was one of Scott's old shirt that he lent him after she took a shower at his place.
He knew.
"You know who the werewolves are..." he murmured. "Tell me."
"Peter Hale," she replied quickly. "He's the one you have to kill. He's the one that has been killing the peopleโ"
"And the beta?" Asked her dad again, making her dry swallow.
How was she terrified of her own father?
"Amelia... tell me. I know you know him, I saw you talking to him the night of the full moon."
Amelia looked at her dad for a few seconds before realizing it.
"You," she murmured, trying not to cry. "You were the one who shot the arrow at me."
"Amelia... tell me who the beta is."
"I can'tโ" she whispered. "Please, dadโ" she started to sob as her father stood up from the chair, walking towards her slowly.
He inched over in front of her, grabbing her by the wrists with so much pressure that it frightened her.
"The Argents kidnapped Derek Hale today, so you haven't been getting rid of them," let her know her father. "You've been lying to me... now tell me... who is the beta you are protecting?"
"Dad, you're hurting meโ"
"It will heal."
He was so angry, so serious, so upset. He was so pissed...
She saw as his eyes turned purple, and she knew it was time to start running.
"Tell me."
"No."
The girl kicked him down before getting out of the bed, grabbing her bag and her arrows. His dad was quick to stand up, cleaning the blood from his nose before looking at her.
"My own daughter... do you know the pain you're causing me!? I'll have to watch you being killed! All that to protect a werewolf?"
"I'm sorry," she sobbed, "I'm so sorry, dad. Please..."
She slowly walked towards the door, not getting her eyes off of him. Amelia opened it quickly, running away through the hall and hearing the steps of her father as he chased her down.
"Amy?" Asked Lizzie as she opened the entrance door and looked at her sister.
"Close the door! Lizzie close the door!" Yelled her father behind her, but Amelia was quicker.
The girl jumped onto the kitchen island before jumping the half wall to the hall.
"Lizzie run!" Amelia shouter before grabbing her sister's arm and shutting the door close behind her, making her father stay inside and the two of them out. "Run!"
She grabbed Lizzie's hand and dragged her away from the house into her car.
"Get in! Get in!" She insisted and the girl listened. Amelia got in to the driver's side, noticing her father trying to open the door to Elizabeth's seat but not being able since the girl locked the door. "Do you have your crossbow?" Her little sister nodded. "Let's get out of here."
"Amelia!" She heard her dad yelling as she started the car, driving away.
Amelia couldn't catch her breath. She had never been more afraid in her entire life. Not even when she was face to face to the Alpha that day at the video store, not even when she thought Stiles wouldn't want to talk to her again.
She couldn't let her little sister live with that psycho.
"Amy, what's going on?" The girl asked in a whisper. "Why are you crying?"
"I'm notโ" she stopped herself before snapping at her. "I'm not crying," she said in a whisper. "Dad is bad, Liz."
"What do you mean?"
"He was trying to kill me," she replied to her little sister, trying not to cry. "And I'm not gonna let him kill you."
"Why did he want to kill you?"
Amelia breathed in before deciding to tell her everything. The whole truth.
"Long time ago, there was this species, they used to be known as 'supernatural seekers', but their real name was Cercatoris. They were just like us, like you and me. They were seekers of the supernatural. Protectors."
"Protectors?" The girl nodded.
Amelia had done her research. She was the only one able to control her future.
"That's right, Liz. They used to make bonds with supernatural creatures, a loyalty bond. It was common to see in werewolf packs a seeker. This one, with their abilities like running fast, super strength, super speed... they would give the pack protection in exchange for loyalty. It was a pact... They protected them from humans trying to kill them."
"What happened to them?"
She breathed in deeply before continuing. "There was this cult of seekers that thought that protecting supernatural creatures was wrong and sick, even though the creatures were nothing but kind to them. They called themselves 'Supernatural Hunters', or... Sealgaireans... Now known as Sealgairs."
"You mean... us?" Amelia nodded, giving her sister a tiny smile.
It had started to rain, and Amelia wasn't really in the position to be emotional yet, she was hurt. Her father just tried to murder her and she was explaining to her little sister how her ancestors were cold-blooded murderers.
"The Sealgairs... killed all of the seekers and burned them, creating a new species. Us," she continued. "We are the last family supernatural seekers there is, and we are not even seekers anymore."
"We are protectors." Amelia nodded. "Then why do we want to kill the creatures? What about all that talked about our bloodlust?"
"During generations they made us believe our bloodlust was pointed at the creatures, that that's why we are able to smell them and hear them. So we can kill them. And that's not true. In fact, we are more powerful when we join them."
Lizzie raise her eyebrows. "When we join the werewolves?" Amelia nodded.
"If I tell you you wouldn't believe it, Liz. Packs are stronger in numbers, and it's not a metaphor. They are faster, stronger, wiser. The individual improves when it is in group. So what do you think happens when you join two supernatural creatures together?"
"We are better?" Amelia chuckled.
"Yeah! We are better. When you link with a supernatural creature, you become one. You feel their emotions, their needs, you give them control. It's a mutual connection."
"Did you make that connection?" She nodded.
"Yeah, I did." Lizzie couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"You made a connection with a werewolf?"
"I don't expect you to understand, Lizzie," admitted the girl quickly as she drove. "It isn't easy to understand it after everything dad has told you, but not all werewolves are bad." Amelia cleared her throat before she looked up. "Right now, there are three werewolves in Beacon Hills. Derek Hale, who's a Beta and he has been captured by the Argents, a human family of hunters. The Alpha, who's the bad guy."
"He is a bad werewolf."
"Yeah, but not because of his nature. He's seeking revenge. His name is Peter Hale, Derek's uncle, and his whole family was murdered in a fire six years ago by the people that are dead." She looked at her sister confused. "The guy from the video store? He has records of arson. Same as the two guys at the bonfire. The bus driver was the insurance guy that said the fire was provoked by the people themselves to collect money."
"So... he's killing all the people that are involved in the Hale fire. And using his abilities to do so."
"That's why we need to stop him," continued Amelia.
"Who's the third werewolf?"
Amelia looked at her sister for a few seconds before parking the car in front of Scott's house. The girl quickly turned around to look at her sister, taking off her seatbelt and looking at Lizzie, hopeful.
"If I tell you, you need to promise me... that you won't go to dad."
"Why?"
"Because he'll kill him, Lizzie! He's the one I made the connection to, and if dad knows, he'll probably kill me too."
"Dad wouldn't kill youโ"
"You say him, Lizzie. You saw how he was chasing me. He thinks that all werewolves and creatures are bad, when in fact, it's the human in the werewolf who's the actual villain. What you choose to do with you powers is what makes you a hero... or a villain. This guy, this Peter Hale, is driven by hate and vengeance, and using his abilities for the wrong measures. The werewolf I connected to has one of the kindest hearts I have ever seen. So much, that he's afraid of what he is, he's afraid he'll hurt someone, he's afraid of losing his identity. He's cursed."
Lizzie looked into her sister's eyes before nodding.
"I promise I won't tell him." Amelia nodded, giving her sister a tiny smile before whispering.
"His name... is Scott McCall."

"Call it again!" The two sisters heard Scott yell from his room.
"It's not here," replied Stiles to him. "So you lost your phone."
"Guys," Amelia called them as she peeked in through the door. "I have some important news."
"Why don't you just get a new one?" Stiles asked Scott, ignoring the girl for a bit.
"I can't afford a new one!" Exclaimed Scott from under the bed. "And I can't do this alone. We have to find Derek."
"Scott!" Yelled the girl, making the two guys turn around to look at her, noticing her sister behind her. "I have some important news," she repeated.
"He's the wolf?" Asked Lizzie from behind her. "I thought he would have fangs."
"Amelia, who's this?" Questioned Scott as he stood up.
"This, is my little sister Lizzie. You might remember her as the girl that I wouldn't let her play with us when we were kids." Stiles raised his eyebrows. They remembered a much smaller kid. "Lizzie, this is Scott and Stiles."
"Hi, Lizzie," greeted her Stiles before looking at the girl. "Why is she here?"
"My dad tried to kill me this morning." That made Stiles and Scott alert. Stiles was quick to stand up and look at the girl, looking for wounds. "He didn't get to hurt me. I grabbed Lizzie and got out of that loony place."
"Does he know I'm the werewolf?" Scott asked her and she shook her head. "But you told your sister."
"She doesn't have her powers yet, but he's really good with the crossbow."
"Just what we needed," whispered Stiles, "another Amelia."
"I thought you'd be scarier," was the thing Lizzie said to Scott. "You aren't scary."
"No, your sister is scary," was what Scott said before looking for his phone. "Now, it's my fault that Derek got taken."
"Didn't you say Derek walked into the gunfire? Sounds pretty dead," mentioned Stiles and Lizzie turned around to look at her sister.
"We can use guns?" Amelia looked at her seriously. "Sorry."
"My dad told me the Argents have him," let them know Amelia. "Before he tried to kill me."
"Argent's plan was to use him to get the Alpha," added Scott, still looking for his phone. "They're not gonna kill him."
"Alright, so then just let them do what they're planning, you know? They use Derek to get Peter. Problem solved." Offered Stiles but Amelia look at him seriously. "Still with the bond thing!?"
"You are also connected to Derek?" Lizzie asked her in a whisper.
"Long story, another time."
"Not if Peter's going after Allison to find Derek!" Yelled Scott angrily. "Amelia can't protect her while she's running away from her psycho dad, and I can't do it on my own. Which mean we need to find Derek first." The werewolf turned around to look at them. "Just... Just help me!"
"Scott, calm down," the girl said to him. But it was no use. He was panicking.
"You know, you probably lost it when you two were fighting," mentioned Stiles to the guy. "You remember that, when he was trying to kill you? After you interrupted him trying to kill Jackson? Are you starting to see a pattern of violent behavior here?"
"So Derek is a bad werewolf!" Exclaimed Lizzie, making Stiles turn around to look at her.
"Would you please tell your sister that?"
"Derek wasn't going to kill anyone," affirmed Scott with so much security. "And I'm not letting him die."
"Me neither," joined him Amelia. "He's going through some stuff right now."
Stiles looked up at her before frowning. "Could you at least think about letting him die? For me?"
Scott stopped moving, raising quickly his head towards the window.
"What?" Amelia asked him.
"My mom just got home from work."
Scott remained in silence, listening to his mother.
"What's he doing?" Lizzie asked Amelia.
"Honestly? No clue."
The three looked as Scott closed his eyes before looking at his fingers.
"Is she okay?" Stiles asked him and he shook his head. "What's she doing?"
"Crying," replied Scott in a whisper, making Amelia sit next to Lizzie.
She thought about her mom. About how she wasn't like them, she wasn't supernatural. And she left her there.
God, she left her there.
Scott sat down next to Amelia before exhaling. He seemed defeated.
"Scott. You can't protect everyone," she said to him. "I'm a protector, and I'm kinda failing at it, you know?"
"But... I have to."
