So Minho was just walking along the pathway towards his apartment at around 10 in the evening, and that was perfectly normal since the university is just a few blocks away from his apartment. He didn't use his car very often. Walking was a way for him to actually think and it's a form of exercise he always wanted to do. So everything was normal, things were the way they used to be. Silent night, cold street, sleeping neighborhood, but he was fine.

What's not fine was seeing a gang circling around a guy with knees on the ground in a dark alley with only a single light across the street that's making the situation obvious.

He quickly hid himself against a building's wall, afraid that the guys would see him and might get himself involve in something he didnt want to be in at the moment.

Don't get him wrong, Minho was actually well-built and can send off attacks to anyone and had a heart to help people in times of need. But seeing that there were about five people taking a toll on the poor guy in the center, it was actually stupid to launch an attack alone. Plus, he always minded his own business and he didn't even know if he knew any single one of them.

He can clearly hear them talking with the quiet place. He took a peek at what they were trying to do.

"You know, we're gonna let you go if you'd just admit that you're an idiot for messing with one of us yesterday, you little shit."

Minho didn't like the way the words slipped out of that stranger's mouth. It sounded like he was about to summon every negative entity that ever existed. He thought that the poor guy would beg for them to stop, seeing that he had already been hit by some of them. What surprised Minho was the way the guy scoffed and laughed bitterly.

"How terrifying. I'm so scared."

His voice sounded so familiar. Minho thought of every student in the university that he already talked to, but he couldn't quite put a name on the voice. The way he spoke was the exact opposite of being afraid. It was as if he was challenging the others to pick on him. Or maybe that's what he's trying to do.

Who in his right mind would do that?

Minho suddenly flinched when he saw the guy standing in front of the kneeling one slapping the latter hard on the face, he was so sure that the action resonated pain on his right cheek since the guy had to turn his face to the left because of the impact. It took everything in him to observe first before taking actions he might regret later.

What if they're on drugs and that's their way of dealing with someone who tries to expose them or something? What if they're in some kind of group that would hunt people that would go in their way and beat the shit out of them just like what they're doing on the poor but arrogant guy? Certainly Minho would avoid such things because he had a reputation to maintain and an appearance to take care of. He actually didn't want any bruise.

The guy spit out what Minho thought was blood and wiped the remaining off from his face using his jacket. Minho couldn't quite see the guy's face as he was turned to the side and the dimmed light wasn't helping. He was just quiet for a moment when one of them talked and revealed the kneeling guy's name.

"You think this is a joke, Bang? You think you're so high and mighty just because you knocked down one of us? That was just luck."

Bang?

There was only one Bang he knew of. But that couldn't be him. That kid was so quiet and was always out of people's reach. He wouldn't be here dealing with this kind of situation. Minho would like to think that he was now inside his house and was studying or making music for who knows how long. That kid was kind of a geek and was soft-spoken, this one had a bite on his tone and was sarcastic. Yeah, this wouldn't be Chan, the senior music enthusiast and one of the smart kids in their uni. Nope. Maybe this guy's different.

"Luck? Sure. But look at you now, forming a group just so you could take a so-called idiot, who was lucky enough to beat an ass, down. Sure. I'm quite trembling, can't you— ugh!"

He was kicked on his gut and now he was putting a hand down on the cement for support. Minho was positive this wasn't Bang Chan. He heaved a sigh. He quickly hid himself again when he saw one of them about to look at his direction. Now his heart was beating so fast. He just listened to them talk.

"So full of ourselves now are we?"

"Yeah, just like you— ugh!" Another attack.

Minho could hear coughs and groans. He also heard a laugh. "This kid is just words, he couldn't even fight for himself. I expected a lot from him since he really sent Jong Jun in so much pain and bruises."

"Yeah, I'm beginning to think we got the wrong guy."

They all laughed in unison. Minho was still having second thoughts if he was going to help him or not. He could hear that guy's groans, so he took another peek and luckily, they were still focused on their target.

Minho could see one guy lifting his hand as if he was about to hit the kneeling guy. He was about to run towards them and just fuck it but he was surprised that Bang was pretty quick, as if he never received a single punch.

Bang tackled the guy using his right leg, aiming for the knee, and sent him off-balance. The others were shock and Bang just took that opportunity to scoot further away from them, now standing up as if nothing happened. Minho just remained in his position, waiting for things to unfold, mouth hanging open.

"I'm so exhausted, actually. This clearly isn't the right time to pick on you guys, so if you may, just walk away and let's pretend this never happened."

Minho wasn't expecting so much confidence. He was also shocked to see him attack, it looked like he was used to fighting.

"You asshole! We're gonna tear you limb from limb!"

All of them surged forward at the same time and Minho, who didn't know what to do, just watched because he clearly wanted to see how this guy would stand by his arrogance.

Guy 1 was about to throw a punch but Bang just dodged it and returned the punch on Guy 1's stomach, making that guy groan. Bang pushed guy 1 and that guy easily stumbled away, clutching his stomach.

Guy 2 was also trying to punch him but he was quick to dodge all attacks and he grabbed that guy's shoulder then launched a knee attack, aiming for the guy's groin to really do some damage. Oh. That would've hurt. Minno was quite impressed, but still didn't let his guard down. Who knows what his enemies will do next.

The place was full of groans of pain. Minho could see that Bang was panting heavily by the way his shoulders rose aggressively. His back was facing Minho so he couldn't still see his face.

When Bang wasn't watching, guy 3 took a hold of his wrist. Minho watched in horror. The other one who was still standing was walking towards them now.

But instead of pulling back to try to get out of the hold, Bang squatted down into a strong stance, then leaned forward and bent his elbow towards the guy all the way towards the forearm until he was free from that grasp. He then proceeded with a knife hand strike, using all his fingers that were held straight and tightly together, and aimed on the side of the guy's neck. If Minho wasn't being careful, he would've loudly shouted and cheered for Bang. Good thing he remembered that this was a lethal situation.

Now guy 4 just studied him, eyes glaring with rage but it seemed like Bang was having the time of his life. He eyed the others on the ground, silently disappointed about their strengths. They were so aggressive earlier because they thought that their number would scare Bang.

Bang turned to face the last man standing. "I actually expected a lot from you, too. Seems like you were the ones who are just words without putting any action..." He sighed and continued to talk to himself, "...I wonder why people do that." But it was loud enough for all of them, including Minho, to hear. Minho can sense disappointment lacing in his voice. But now, his face was somewhat illuminated by a ray of light. Minho squinted his eyes to see him better but the mad guy was moving.

Because of anger, the guy ran towards Bang and tried to hit him anywhere possible. Bang just avoided every punch and wasn't doing anything to defend himself. Minho took notice how precise and accurate Bang's movements were, as if he was just dancing while dodging every attack. It was mesmerizing, really.

Minho just watched the both of them when he saw a silhouette coming from the back of Bang. He was sure the object that the guy was carrying glinted when a ray of light had hit it. He watched with wide eyes when Bang was still busy fighting the other one, now actually throwing punches here and there.

Minho noticed that the object was actually a small dagger and the guy holding it was about to use it against Bang. With panic, he shouted "Hey! Watch out!"

Bang, who was surprisingly not shocked after hearing a voice, finished the guy he's fighting with, and looked at Minho. Minho shouted in fits of panic. "Behind you— no!"

Before anything could happen, Bang suddenly stepped forward so that the dagger wouldn't reach him, and turned around to face the guy whom he tackled. The guy just kept on thrusting the dagger, and Minho just went closer to them, trying to figure out how to end this. The other guy just spoke, "I didn't know you called back up."

"I'm not his back up", "I don't need back up", both Minho and Bang responded respectively, almost at the same time. That made them watch each other for a moment and to say Minho was surprised was an understatement. He was, for the love of Neptune, shocked as hell! This Bang guy was none other than Chan! The Bang Chan!

Chan was confused why Minho looked at him as if he saw a ghost and it later dawned on him that oh shit! He's from the university! That made Chan panic for a while, and that feeling was replaced by something sharp, something that pierced through his skin, and now he can feel his left cheek dripping with blood. He hissed in pain and Minho, who seemed angry because how dare that guy hurt this soft guy, who turned out to be the opposite, and cut his precious cheek!

Minho lunged forward, forgetting that this was Chan's fight and ended up punching the guy's face really hard and kicked his knees. When the guy fell flat on the ground, Minho grabbed the sides of his opponent's collar before pulling his hands into the center and crushed them unto the guy's throat with the knuckles of the index finger. He tightened the collar, which kept the guy from squirming away while his knuckles cut off his target's airflow.

As much as Minho wanted to choke the life out of that guy, and he doesn't know why, Chan came and grabbed him, made him stand up and pulled him. His other hand was now holding a piece of cloth, where did he even get that, covering his left cheek.

Chan quickly let him go after he stood up. They were both quiet, panting heavily and were trying to catch air. Minho studied Chan and he didn't know why Chan was looking pass him. Not until Chan grabbed Minho's hand to pull him towards his chest, kicking whoever it was that was sneaking behind Minho's back. Chan had hit him on his chest and the guy just stepped backward. "You're lucky you have someone to back your ass up. We could've—"

But before he could finish, Chan interrupted him. "Could've what? Saved yourselves from embarrassment towards this guy? And that actually came from you who just teamed up and decided that it's easy now to fight with someone who's alone because you feel strong just because of your number. You're sick." This was the first time Minho heard Chan like this. He just noticed a strong accent when he spat those words. Minho only looked at Chan who was currently clenching his fists.

"If you ever come across me again, I swear I'm gonna finish you off like how I did with your friend yesterday. You should be thankful that someone was watching." And with that, he just left. The five guys were spread across the ground, too beaten up to stand alone.

After realizing that Chan left him, Minho's eyes went comically wide. How dare he leave me here? After I fought for him? Bitch.

Minho followed Chan, even though he was walking to the opposite direction of his home. Whatever. He needed a little thank you or something between those lines. He just risked his life by getting himself involve in a fight. What if those goons would show up in front of him because they thought he's with Bang? Minho couldn't help but feel irritated.

"Hey, stop!" Minho shouted when he saw how Chan was walking so fast. "Bang Chan! Stop!" He was already jogging towards Chan but this guy was made of steel, he was so hard to be stopped. "Wait!"

Why was he running after him? Minho had no idea. He can just let things be since he can handle himself and he wasn't even hurt. But his feet kept moving and he just wanted to see Chan showing him a little gratitude. And also, he lowkey wanted to know if Chan was alright. He just came from a fight after all.

"Stop!" Minho finally reached him and grabbed his shoulder to make Chan face him.

"What?" Chan snapped, exhaustion evident in his voice. Minho suddenly felt small.

"What? Really? After I helped you out back there? That's how you show your gratitude?" Minho felt small, yes, but that didn't change the fact that Chan needed to recognize him for his efforts. Man, I could've just let him be stabbed by a dagger but I didn't! Chan just looked at him, his expression unreadable.

"Okay. Thanks. There, happy? Can I please go home now?" His voice was flat and that made Minho more irritated than ever before.

"Is it so hard to say thank you sincerely? Goodness you're so arrogant, you know that? The guy could've stabbed you earlier but good thing I was there to warn you..." Chan was about to reply to him but Minho shut him up, "...Shut up! And did you even see me fight that guy for you? You know, a sincere thank you would sound nice! At least I'm not asking for so much more from you!"

Chan roamed his eyes to Minho's back, which Minho didn't notice because he was still aggressively talking. "But of course you wouldn't do that, you ungrateful fag! Why are you— hey! What are you doing? Why are we hmmp!"

Chan pulled him into another dark alley, trying to hide themselves from the illuminating light across the street. Minho was still struggling out of Chan's grasp, but why is he so strong?

Minho kept on talking while Chan's hand was covering his mouth, looking outside the alley. The older looked at him with serious eyes that made Minho shut up instantly. If his friends were here, they would've teased him endlessly because someone finally made him shut up. "Not a single word." Chan said the words slowly but surely. Minho just nodded his head, brain suddenly malfunctioning due to extreme closeness.

Chan then looked outside again, his left cheek visible to Minho's eyes. He saw what the dagger did to his pale, white skin. It was small, but his whole face was covered with bruise. Probably from the hits he received while kneeling. They were oh so close to each other.

Minho couldn't stop looking at the older's orbs, astonished how someone so quiet and acted nerdy had a side like this. How he controlled himself for not straightening the crease in Chan's forehead, he had no idea. Chan was handsome, and Minho just admitted it now because of their faces' proximity.

Actually, he always saw Chan having a vibe of 'boy next door'. He's handsome, yes. He's one of those guys in the university who wouldn't boast about what they have. He could hear Jisung and Changbin talking about how Chan was an angel and that he had a great personality. Felix also mentioned something about Chan and Minho didn't know why the other knew things about the man standing in front of him at the moment.

Although Chan was mostly not around when his friends met up with Minho's friends, Minho could see that his own circle friends already liking him. And according to what they said, Minho perceived Chan as a handsome angel. Now he sees him as a hot devil.

Minho cleared his throat, catching Chan's attention. He motioned for Chan's hand on his mouth and the older quickly removed it. Minho whispered, "Why are we hiding?"

Chan just glanced at him before returning his gaze outside, but his body was still facing Minho. "Police car." He replied nonchalantly. Minho's eyes went wide. "What? But why are we hiding? We're not doing anything wrong at the moment."

Lazy eyes were glued to Minho's curious ones and Chan just heaved a sigh. "They came from those guys' direction, and obviously those punks wouldn't say anything because they're reputations would also be at stake. So the patrols would have to scan the area. Now if they'll see me, covered in bruises and some amount of blood, what would they think? Now, shut up and let's just wait for them to pass this area and we'll go on our separate ways."

Wow. That was the longest he said to him the whole night. But instead of shutting up, Minho shifted in his position because Chan's body was still close on being pressed against his. "Then let me go. You're the one covered in blood and shit so there's no reason for me to hide as well. The patrols wouldn't—"

The next thing Chan did took the life out of Minho.

"You talk too much." Before Minho could do anything, he can already feel Chan's lips against his own, warm hands cupping both his cheeks, and the mixture of breaths were tickling his spine. Minho put out a noise of surprise, clearly not expecting this thing to be happening. He could taste the other's mouth, a mixture of strawberry and a rusty taste that felt like blood from earlier.

Minho became tense and Chan noticed it. But he really did have to do this.

Minho didn't know why he wasn't doing anything to push the other away. Instead, he closed his eyes when he felt Chan moved his lips. He didn't know what took over him when he responded to the kiss. It was slow, and Minho felt awkward because his hands were on the air the whole time. So he placed them on Chan's shoulders slowly, indulging himself on the situation.

Chan was a good kisser, Minho wouldn't deny. He had his fair shares of kiss here and there, even more. But Chan's lips felt different. It felt like discovering another choreography to add on a song he's working on. He felt giddy and excited. He knows his face was now beet red but he didn't mind. Chan's kiss was intoxicating. It was making his world dizzy, everything fading into nothingness, as if this was his very first kiss.

A hum escaped Minho's lips, hands now on the back of Chan's neck. Chan smirked into it and Minho felt embarrassed, but they still continued. Their lips were in synch, tongues playing with each other. I could do this all day.

Chan almost forgot why he kissed Minho as he also felt something, when they suddenly heard 'teenagers nowadays', followed by a series of footsteps.

Chan suddenly broke the kiss and Minho felt like he wanted more. He already missed it. In a normal situation, Minho would've asked for more because damn! That was the greatest kiss he ever had! But he suddenly remembered that this was Chan and oh my god I just kissed Bang Chan what the heck?

They were catching their own breaths, their hands still on the same place as before. Chan, who felt his ears burning, suddenly took his hands off, as if Minho's face burnt them. Minho just removed his own slowly, eyes questioning Chan why he did that. Chan stepped back uncomfortably and Minho suddenly missed the older's warmth.

"Uh..."

"So..."

They again both said at the same time so now it was back to being awkward. But since Chan knew it was him who started it, he broke the silence. "I-I'm sorry."

Minho wants to be mad, but he couldn't. He just whispered a soft "why".

"I did that because you wouldn't shut up and the police was coming this way and I didn't know what to do not to make us look like we're involved in the fight, cause we were and I'm not ready to go to jail. And my conscience would probably eat me if you got involved because you we're just helping out. It's...yeah. I'm so sorry. Uhmm... I gotta leave. That's... Uh, thank you. For you know, earlier. I mean it, really. I'm just tired and I— uhm. So yeah. I'm sorry and thank you. And please don't say anything about what you saw to anyone, especially to Felix please, and also Sungie and Binnie. They'll freak out."

Once again, Chan left. But this time, Minho didn't chase after him. He could hear Chan say 'bang chan you stupid jerk!'. Minho didn't react, he just stood there, unmoving. Surprised at how fast the situation occured. One time he was just walking home, then he saw a fight, now he just got a kiss from a nerdy hottie. Not just a damn kiss, but it felt like bolts of electricity were running down his body. It felt so surreal. And he's not even exaggerating.

He touched his lips, feeling Chan's plump ones like it was still there. He was stupid for responding but hey, the guy kissed him greatly, he couldn't turn the offer down. He looked like an idiot touching his lips while suppressing a smile, whole face red. He's sure that he looks like an idiot now.

Until Minho got home, he still felt Chan's presence. That was the biggest surprise he had ever had in his whole lifetime.

Is he having a crush now? Nope. He was just... shocked. Yeah. Who wouldn't be? He didn't expect to be kissed by Chan and he didn't expect that it would turn out amazing. He didn't know Chan could kiss like that.

That led him to think that Chan must have so many practices before. So he definitely kissed a lot before Minho. That sparked something in Minho's heart, but just ignored it.

After how many twists and turns, all he could think about was Chan. Damn you! This is all your fault!

Good thing tomorrow's Saturday, because he's not ready to face a certain blonde tomorrow at the university.
