Twenty Five

-A few weeks later-

StilesIt was Stella's 23rd birthday and I wanted to do something special with her. I planned to take us to the beach as it was a beautiful day. I woke up early and decided to make Stella breakfast in bed. I was making her favourite, pancakes with ice cream and maple syrup and French toast with chocolate sauce and strawberries. I placed the food on a tray along with a glass of orange juice, a rose in a vase and a birthday card before carrying it to the bedroom. I opened the door slowly and walked in slowly. I played the tray down on the night stand and sat on the bed looking at Stella sleeping. She looked so beautiful and peaceful. I kissed her forehead and shook her gently. "Baby time to wake up" I whispered. "Five more minutes" she groaned as she threw the covers over her head. "C'mon birthday girl I have a whole day planned for us. Plus I made you breakfast" I informed her. Stella sat up in the bed and I placed the tray on her lap. "Stiles you didn't have to make me breakfast in bed" she smiled. "Of course i had to, it's your birthday and I love you" I smiled. Stella reached for the back of my neck and pulled me in to kiss her. I pulled away and smiled at her. "Eat your food, it'll get cold".  Stella laughed. "Okay" she smiled.

After breakfast Stella and I sat in bed cuddling for awhile. "So what are the plans for today then?" She asked. "You'll have to wait and see" I winked at her. "But here's your first present" I smiled and got out of the bed walking to my closet and pulling out a medium sized box and handed it to her. "Stiles I said I didn't want any presents" Stella shook her head. "It's just something small. You'll get your main birthday present later" I smiled. "Cmon open it". Stella opened the box and looked at me weirdly. "What?" I laughed. "A bikini?" She replied. "Yeah"I smiled. "Why did you buy me a bikini?" She questioned "for today. You need to wear it". "You're so strange Stilinski" she laughed.

-Later that day at the beach-Stella and I were relaxing on the beach. Playing in the water and sun bathing. I grabbed my phone and put something in my pocket before walking into the water. Stella was acting silly and I was recording her. "Work it baby" I laughed. Stella kept doing weird poses until she fell backwards into the water. She stood back up a minute later. "Did you get that on video?" She asked. "Yeah I did" I laughed. Stella splashed me. "Hey watch the phone" I replied. "Relax Stiles its waterproof" she rolled her eyes. Stella then walked over to me and jumped on my back. "Giddy up horsey" she said. I was running through the water with her on my back when I placed her down on her feet and took my phone out again. I took something else out of my pocket. "Ready for your main birthday present?" I asked. "Yeah" she replied confused. The something I took out of my pocket was attached to green string. Stella was looking at me weirdly.

"Stella I love you so much" I said. "Stiles what the hell are you doing?" She asked. She walked over to me and now I could ask her the one question I've been wanting to ask her for years.

"Stella, will you marry me?" I asked as I held up the green string with a diamond ring attached to the end of it. "Yes. Yes you goofball, I'll marry you" she kissed me and I took the ring off the string and placed it on her finger. "Perfect fit" she smiled. "Thank god you have the same sized fingers as Lydia" I chuckled. "Lydia?" She replied. "She helped me to pick out the ring" I informed her. "What's with the green string?" She asked. "You're the one mystery I've solved" I smiled. Stella kissed me again. "No going back on this now Stilinski" she laughed. "I would never take this back. I love you". "This is the best birthday ever" she smiled. "I'm glad" I smiled. Stella and I took a photo of us to remember this moment. "I'm gonna go get us some drinks. What do you want?" I asked. "Surprise me" she smiled and pecked my lips before I got out of the water and walked to the little beach hut to get drinks. I ordered drinks and kept looking over at Stella. That's when everything changed. I started hearing gun shots. I ducked at the beach hut, to avoid myself getting hit. People were running around, screaming it was total chaos. Just then I looked around for Stella and I couldn't see her.

"STELLA" I yelled as I made my way through the crowds of screaming people. "STILES" I heard her yelling back. I turned around to see her ducked behind the life guard post. I ran over to her and pulled her into my arms. "Are you hurt?" I asked. "I'm fine" she said. I pulled her in for a hug. "We gotta get outta here" I took her hand and we ran to grab our bags and then ran up the beach. More gun shots were being fired and people were falling to the floor. I squeezed Stella's hand as we made our way to the car. Stella got in and I got in the drivers side. I was panicking and sped away as fast as I could. My heart was racing in my chest. I was so afraid I would lose Stella but I didn't. She's safe. I drove the two of us back to the apartment and I called my Dad. He was explaining to me what was happening.

"Everything okay?" Stella asked as she had one of my shirts on as she stood in the door way of the kitchen. "My Dad said that it was a terrorist attack. Thirty people were killed and twelve were injured. My FBI team are looking into it and the guy was arrested. I'm on standby and I could be called into work tonight after what happened" I informed her. Stella nodded. "I'm just so glad that you're okay. I saw how close that guy was to where you were standing and when I couldn't see you for a minute part of me thought that I lost you" I sighed. Stella hugged me. "You could never lose me. Ever" she replied. "Have you heard from Scott today?" I asked, changing the subject. "Yeah he texted me when we got back asking if I was okay" she replied. I nodded. "Just whatever happens tonight, if I get called into work just stay in the house and don't leave" I informed her. "Trust me I won't go anywhere" she replied.

Awhile later I got a called into work. I threw my uniform on and walked into the office where Stella was sat doing paper work. "Babe I gotta go" I said. Stella stood up off her chair and walked over to me. "Stay safe out there" she replied. "Always am" I smiled at her. "Call me when you're coming home" she smiled a little. "Will do" I replied and kissed her. "I love you". "I love you too" she replied before I left the apartment.

-At the beach-I was with my team and we were trying to investigate what happened and how all of this started. "Officer Stilinski" my colleague Tyson said. "Yeah Tyson?" I replied. "Me and officer Jensen got access to this guys phone that was in his bag which was given to the police. We managed to get inside and you won't believe what we found" he said. I was worried. "What did you find?" I asked. "This guy, has multiple photos of your girlfriend. Photos as if he's been watching her every move the last few weeks. Dating back to when she came back to Beacon Hills. There are photos of her going to work, leaving work, walking around the town, going to the apartment" he informed me. "There's also photos of her taken through your apartment window" he informed me. "So he was targeting Stella?" I said. "Yeah and we managed to access his group messages that he has with friends and it looks like he's not the only one out to get Stella. It looks like this guy has an army. An army of four people. Who want her dead." He informed me. "W-who's the leader?" I swallowed. "Kyle McCall" he sighed. "But he's been in jail for like five years" I replied. "He's had someone on the outside doing all of his dirty work".

As soon as I was finished talking with Tyson I called Scott and Lydia and told them what was going on and that they had to go get Stella out of Beacon Hills. Then I called to alert her about what was happening.

Sa-heyS- StellaSa-yeah? Stiles what's up?S-we cracked the case. We found stuff in the guys phone from the beach today. Sa-That's greatS-No it's not. This guy is working for Kyle. Your Uncle. On this phone there are pictures of you from the last few months. Kyle had a plan. He wants you dead. There are four others. They know where the apartment is and one of them is probably on their way over there wight now.Sa- *panicking* w-what do I do?S- Scott and Lydia are on their way over. They're gonna take you to the lake house. That way you'll be safe.Sa- you'll be there too right?S-I'll drive straight there after workSa-Okay *panicking*S-Stella I'm not going to let them hurt youSa- I knowS-Stay safe. I gotta go. I love you so muchSa-You too. I love you more-End convo-

I really hope Scott and Lydia get to Stella in time. I can't lose her.
